I think look, the republicans have done something here that no one has done in 30 years. This is a very big deal and really its going to be good for the economy so democrats i think look foolish. Liz the cuts are coming at a time the economy is growing twice as fast as it was under obama and to your point the democrats are making their own riverboat gap bell. Again, you know, the democrats that i talk to, they dont feel like theyre part of this party any more that they dont have a home any more in this party. Well unfortunately the progressives have taken over the party and they are clearly for redistribution of the economy, not for growing the economy. Actually even if you look at Hillary Clintons Campaign Platform in 2016, it was all about where the money should go, not growing the economy. She never talked about growth. You know, liz the only way we are going to be able to provide for seniors, provide the medicare promises, Social Security and all those entitle ments programs that are very important to this country is the economy is growing and we have increased revenues. Thats what this bill will provide. Liz you know, the fact is that the statutory corporate rate in the u. S. For corporations is higher than france, its higher than italy, its higher than germany, its higher than spain, its higher than the uk and its higher than ireland. Easily one country has a higher rate. We are out of step with the world and we are now getting back in step by going down to 21 . By the way, other countries are in that same vicinity in the low 20 range, so corporate taxes for the American Corporation have been burden some and now we are leveling the Playing Field so our companies can compete and i think one of the big things that needs to be talked about in this country, democrats are profoundly pessamistic about americas ability to compete. Thats what really theyre saying. They are saying dont give our companies equal footing because what difference does it make . They will go overseas anyway. That is not true. The economy grew at 3 in the last two quarters thats twice what it was growing under obama so if it keeps growing can the democrats really basically say im going to regain power by saying this is bad for the economy . They have to do more than just sit there and be against this tax bill and ive been saying this all along. As a democrat we need to provide an actual policy plan showing what we stand for and why we are legitimate alternative and it is not enough to be the antitrump or the antirepublican.
