Strategy. President trump unveiling his America First strategy, which for the first time equal importance and economics security and National Security. For the first time, american strategy recognizes that Economic Security is National Security. Economic vitality growth and prosperity at home is absolutely necessary for American Power and influence abroad. Any nation that trades away its prosperity for security will end up losing both. Charles here to discuss what it means for americas future. Rebecca, Hudson Institute senior fellow and gina, a member of the donald j. Trump for president advisory board. Let me start with you, rebecca. This is not your Traditional National security speech or approach. President trumps talking about border walls, chain migration, and other things. But i think the economy and prosperity have always been linked to National Security. Absolutely. Theyre completely linked. So the trump National Security strategy properly expresses that and has a cleareyed vision of what is necessary to have a strong military, a strong presence abroad to lead with credibility and all of that is tied to prosperity, economic prosperity, and he really lays out the problem that we have with china in this regard. So unless we have good trade deals, unless we can get the chinese to stop stealing intellectual property, and stop having unfair trade practices with the United States, the United States is not going to be as strong as it could be. Charles the border wall, for instance, chain migration, those things, audibles, to be this integral with respect to the National Foreign policy, i dont think that theyve ever coupled them before. Well, you know, i do think that Border Security or trade have been issues that are part of our Foreign Policy and dealing with foreign nations. But i think whats interesting about this document is its an attempt to i guess creed or structure a coherent Foreign Policy idea around some of trumps impulses. And i think whats going to be really interesting to see is whether the practice actually meets whats written down on the page. And i do have some concerns about that. I think the paper is absolutely right in russia and chinas bad actors. Potential competition for us. But what were seeing in practice in some extent is russia taking the lead in syria and iraq. Were seeing the president occasionally be quite cordial to leashing charles do you want him not to have a Good Relationship with them . No. I think you should have a Good Relationship. But at the same time, these are dictators. These are people that have murdered and imprisoned their people. Its not free regimes, and i want to see part of that Foreign Policy putting americas commitment to freedom. Charles well, also, President Trump talked about them as competitors military competitors, particularly china over the next ten years. Its going to be russia, china, and america vying for influence over the entire planet, and i guess thats why President Trump talked about our value system as being something of a secret weapon, if you will. It is a secret weapon, charles. And i remember you and i discussing this going back to the early days of the campaign when we talked about how Economic Security and National Security are linked. And thats why im so surprised today to read this. The things that he said today, sounded like many of the reasons why Many Americans voted for this president. And i think, again, speaking for the guys on main street and not so much for the guys on wall street. But the American Economy and american National Security is like the tide that raises all votes and also for foreign leaders to respect this president. Thats something we havent had for the last eight years, charles, and i think it could have dramatically positive impact on economic and National Security worldwide. Charles right. Rebecca, on the notion that we know that our two main rivals would be china and russia. What kind of approach do we take with them . Because President Trump has obviously developed a close relationship with the chinese premier in part because of their joint effort on north korea. Does he have to saber rattle for you . No. I think what the president is doing is right. And thats just hes trying to have cordial, personal relationships with these leaders while also being firm and clear about what hes going to do to pursue u. S. Interest. Thats the trade deals. Regarding russia, in this National Security strategy, the president says were going to be expanding Ballistic Missile defense. Thats something that the administration has long opposed. If you look at the policies that were doing, were pursuing policies that are in america interest regardless of the opposition coming from china and russia without personally aggravating these leaders. I think thats the right approach. The details are going to be we have to see it being implemented here. But if the president implements whats in this National Security strategy, this is a strong National Security strategy that places americans priorities first, the American Homeland first, and its going to be things that bother the chinese and russians. Charles what about also the idea that last week the administration talked about dumping Climate Change as a National Security threat. That was really an integral part of the Obama Administration. And i think, you know, people sort of laughed at the idea that youve got north Korea Developing Nuclear missiles, youve got china, youve got russia, youve got isis, and yet were kind of put at the top of the list of Climate Change. One of the things ive supported Foreign Policywise is pulling back from the paris climate agreement. That was a place where the United States got a raw deal. We were agreeing to really dramatic scale back of our Carbon Emissions, which has huge competitiveness implications and, meanwhile, china was promising that they were going to keep increasing their Carbon Emissions for years. So i think starting from that position of parody, how is this going to hurt the economy . How do we get policies that are going to benefit the environment without hurting the American Worker . Thats a muchneeded focus. Charles and, of course, President Trump talked about the economy, talked about the stock market. Can those be seen as adversaries . And that, hey, were dealing with a very prosperous nation. Yeah. Because we know, charles, america doesnt operate in isolation. We understand what the president said today that America First doesnt mean america alone. He is taking the facts over the feelings that weve heard so much about over the last eight years, and hes trying to be realistic about it instead of idealistic, and i think that the rest of the country recognizes that, you know, as you mentioned, threats like Climate Change, which no one has proven or terror to the whole entire world. Its just much better to focus on what we have in terms of the real and tangible with a i see to fix the problems that threaten the whole entire world. And i believe the president has done so very coherently in this last, latest move. Charles rebecca, where do we stand as the policemen of the world . How does that play visavis America First . Well, what the president is trying to do is he doesnt want to be the policeman of the world. He wants the United States to be respected. He wants the United States to engage when its americas interest to engage. So that means, you know, we want to defeat isis where isis exists. And, by the way, the president has led a very successful antiisis campaign in the short time hes been president , you know . In mosul, et cetera. And so were going to be doing things that are directly connected to the United States. Were not going to be intervening in wars of choice, and were not going to have unrealistic convections about promoting democracies and nations that dont want to be democracies or arent selfgoverning themselves yet. But, again, i want to make a point clear, though, that this doesnt mean the president doesnt care about human rights. One of the best things we can do is to kill isis. To make sure that forecast doesnt have a nuclear icbm capability thats reliable. So these are the things thats tangible and eminent and things that we have to take care of. David appreciate it. Talk to you all soon. Coming up, congressman andy biggs joins me to explain why hes calling for internal cleanup at the Justice Department. Its easy to think that all Money Managers are pretty much the same. But while some push High Commission investment products, Fisher Investments avoids them. Some advisers have hidden and layered fees. Fisher investments never does. And while some advisers are happy to earn commissions from you whether you do well or not, Fisher Investments fees are structured so we do better when you do better. Maybe thats why most of our clients come from other Money Managers. Fisher investments. Clearly better money management. Trump as we said, theres no collusion. Theres no collusion whatsoever. No, im not. No. Charles thats President Trump debunking the rumor that he was planning on firing special Counsel Robert Mueller before christmas. This calling the appointment of special counsel to investigate the Justice Department after several bombshell stories reveals that the team had alleged ties to the Clinton Campaign along with the Company Fusion gps, which was responsible for completing that dirty dossier on then candidate trump. Several teams leading the charge to the doj. One of them joining me now, a member of the Judiciary Committee and the freedom caucus. Congressman bigs, thank you so much for joining us. You know, the mueller situation becomes americaier and americaier by the moment. Last week, the Mainstream Media i think deliberately floated out the idea that President Trump was going to fire mueller to sort of get everyone off the trail. But the real issue here i would suspect and your issue are the mounting clicks within this investigation. Absolutely, charles. Every time we turn around, theres a new revelation. Last week it was about struck and alleged pair more. And their attempt in a godlike fashion to control the outcome of the election. And then theres mr. Are r and his wife who are teamed up with fusion gps to create that dossier. And what do we find out over the weekend . Muellers team has appropriated 10,000 Transition Team emails, many of which are considered confidential. One wonders what is next . Jeff sessions say they dont have a process to vet christopher, they dont have a process to vet. And its obvious. Theres no process to vet where people have conflicts or bias in this because every time we turn around, these huge biases come forward. David what about the issue of special counsel, special prosecutor just withdrawal . A lot of folks on both sides of the aisle saying, hey, another special prosecutor, another special investigation only prolongs the agony of what were going through now. Because i think a lot of folks forget that the timeline to this goes back over a year and so far theres no evidence of any sort of collusion. Right. You know, so were not asking for another special prosecutor or special counsel, necessarily. We need mueller to move on. We need somebody to come in and take on every that if youre going to continue with that. But the other thing that has happened is weve. Determined that theres all kinds of misconduct in the Hillary Clinton investigation. By these same people that are now investigating President Trump. And this is where you go and say, well, maybe there should be a special prosecutor. And thats one that thing they said they would reopen that. The Inspector General who was looking at this there were irregularities. Thats what were finding out. Theres irregularities. And mueller is keeping it all internal. Hes not the one releasing this. Hes keeping it all under his hat until he gets caught, and thats part of the problem here. Charles what about the idea that perhaps mueller is very close to wrapping this thing up and could come to a conclusion very shortly. Well, you know, if thats the case, he hasnt told anybody here in congress. And if thats if hes going to wrap it up, then lets get it wrapped up, and lets move on. But the problem is even if he wraps it up, this whole things been tainted. Its been tainted because of the people he has had on his team and his inability to determine, hey, they have a bias here. Thats part of the problem. Charles of course, weve heard where everyone has the embedded bias and you would expect professionals, particularly those at the fbi and department of justice to be able to park them at the door. Do you believe that some of the people involved in this actually did let their biases against donald trump influence their work . Yeah. Absolutely. I understand we all have biases. We all believe certain things. Its the unfair bias. Its the conflict of interest. Thats what were seeing here. And, yeah, i absolutely believe thats what were seeing, and thats why i think the whole american people. I know when i go home, my constituents are, like, pull the plug on this. This is not fair to President Trump, and its not fair to the american people. And it certainly is not helping the agencies at all involved. Charles yeah, youre absolutely right about that. Its tainted, and its going to take a long time to unravel this thing. Thank you very much for joining us tonight. Thank you. Charles next, tonights deadly train dreamt shedding light on americas crumbling infrastructure. Maybe finally well get some bipartisan support. Discussing that next think your Large Cap Equity Fund has exposure to Energy Infrastructure mlps . Think again. Its time to shake up your lineup. The alerian mlp etf can diversify your equity portfolio and add potential income. Bring amlp into the game. Before investing, consider the Funds Investment objectives, risks, charges, and expenses. Read the prospectus carefully at alpsfunds. Com amlp charles at least six people are dead and Dozens Injured following an amtrak train dreamt just south of tacoma, washington. It was the high speed launch from seattle to oregon. But ntsb says its too early to see if speed played a factor that the train was traveling more than 80 Miles Per Hour at the time of the crash. There were 77 passengers and seven crew members on board. The train is now hanging off the bridge over interstate 5. Cars and trucks on the freeway were crushed. Joining me now by phone ntsb investigator allen difficult. Allen, thanks for joining us. A lot of questions here. What would the initial assessment be before the team arrives, before everyone gets there, you see this train dangling there. You know it was going at higher than normal speeds. Well, charles, the first thing they want to do is make sure no one else was injured. These are the First Responders and, obviously, remove the injured. After that, the grim detail of removing the body occurs. The ntsb actually isnt on scene, but im sure theyve notified everybody there to take pictures. Okay . Because that will help establish the factual information, the scars on the tracks, where the various cars ended up, and any other physical evidence. They want to if they cant preserve it, they want to get photos to start with. But, of course the board probably wont arrive for a few more hours, the actual go team from washington. Charles right and as a former investigator, those go teams typically consist of 20 investigators, from what i understand. Theres already controversy. In fact, there was controversy before this voyage this morning. A local town nearby, the mayor warned against the proximity to cars and residents and people and also requested that there would be greater security implemented to prevent Something Like this. Who normally would be responsible for taking such a warning seriously . Well, of course, you have an amtrak train, so they have part of the responsibility. There is a company that owns the track bed and the guardrails and so on. They will have some responsibility. And, of course, the federal railway administration, which, you know, governs what equipment is and what physical structures need to be in place. They will also come under the scrutiny of the ntsb. Thats why congress set up this independent board many decades ago so that all issues are addressed. Now, as you probably know, charles, the ntsb cant force they only make recommendations. After they do the factual investigation, they do the analysis and establish a probable cause or causes. And then theyll most importantly, i believe, theyll make recommendation. But its up to the fra, to the track owners, and to amtrak to implement these. And we all know that these Companies Use a sharp pencil when looking at costbenefit analysis. I hate to say it. But sometimes theyll decide they rather have the lawsuit or whatever, than fix the problem. Charles the lawsuit that and the deaths that accompany these lawsuits . Absolutely and the injuries. And, obviously, fra is a government organization. And they come under the executive branch, so they can have some heat from both if they fail to implement previous recommendation. But this mayors recommendation is very interesting. Im sure the board would want to talk to him in great detail and evaluate with regard to his concerns were valid. Charles allen difficult, thank you very much. Really appreciate it. Youre welcome, charles. Charles a deadly train accident coming one day after fire knocked out power at the worlds Busiest Airport in atlanta leaving thousands stranded and Holiday Travel plans and chaos. Now, to be fair, not equating tragedy that took lives in washington. But what we are saying overall this all points back to a longrunning question about americas crumbling infrastructure. Something that politicians have been promising us they would fix for a long time. Rnc spokeswoman, george h. W. Bush policy adviser. Let me start with you. Because, of course, the Obama Administration had thetrilliondollar shovelready infrastructure plan that admittedly was the inappropriately applied and never took care of any of these safeguards or concerns. And, yeah, no one still to this day really knows what happened with that. And President Trump ran on infrastructure. Yeah, shovelready jobs werent so shovel ready as it turns out under the Obama Administration. First, i want to quickly say that my heart goes out to those lives lost today. Theyre in my prayers. But with regard to infrastructure, our infrastructure is failing. Americas infrastructure is failing as trump has said. The Obama Administration had nearly a trillion dollars, like you said. No one knows where it went. The democrats said, well, thats because we didnt have enough money. We need more. We need a trillion more. Well, now is your opportunity. Come to the bargaining table. President trump is ready, willing, and able. Stop obstructing and start working with President Trump on fixing this. Charles you know, michael, overall rated a d minus. Ironically the trains have the best rating at a b. But we see these incidents all the time and to caylees point, its heartbreaking and tragic and everyone says theyre going to fix it. Yet, no fix. Thats right. And throwing money at the problem doesnt help. What i think hopefully well see in january is that he intends to bring in more than just Government Entities to try to bring about improvements to our infrastructure, and its not just the transportation infrastructure looking at 20th century modes of transportation, but it includes also means of transportation to improve access of economic and social activities in the rural areas that can be helpful at unifying our country at a time where we desperately need that as well. So im looking forward to something in january that will be much more than just government spending. Charles this, of course, was touted as a high speed train with new technology. Nowhere near what the japanese have been using for decades. So you hope that we dont have public push back against implementing new technology. If its tested, if its vetted and done right. Because its my guess that just slapping on new rails over the old infrastructure isnt going to work. We probably need to gut the whole system. We need to gut the whole system. And we dont have all the facts in this case. They say an object came on the track. We dont know what that object was. Was it a piece of the track . No one knows at this point. So theres still more to know. But, no, we need to invest in new Technology Like the chinese, which you point out. And i think to the other commentators points, private Sector Partnership is key to this. That is the real wealth for vacancy. And by partnering with the power sector and empowering them not throwing money at it, not distrusting the sector as obama did, thats where were going to see innovation. We tried it the obama way. Now lets try it the trump way. Charles is it really possible to do that . Because money is fungible, the federal government sends in cash and we learn that infrastructure money was used for all kinds of things other than infrastructure. So do we actually have to deal with the bureaucracy first before we start handing out checks . It has to be a part of this plan. Either beforehand or as part of this process to deal with the bureaucracy. And that includes cutting federal spending and find a way to invest whatever federal money is going to be going into infrastructure. And back to your point, charles, looking at the types of technologies that were investing in. Were two weeks away from 2018. Im still wondering why were not in jettisonlike drones as our means of transportation. Theres certainly more we can do to vance our nation economically. Charles and we have the entrepreneurs and brains in this country right now who are champing at the bit. If we allow them to do it, we might get to that sooner rather than later. Caylee and michael, thank you very much. Thank you, charles. Charles hey, when we come back, its been a wild ride for the trum trump administrations first year. But how would you rate it . Charles President Trumps first year in office has been quite a roller coaster ride looking past the staff turnover, special counsel, and things like that. The bigger picture, President Trump, lets face it has had some major accomplishments, naming a judge to the supreme court, slashing regulations, new pipeline progress and oil drilling, and it looks like were going to get tax cuts and repeal of the individual mandate. Here to grade the administrations performance, Fox News Contributor denene, ashley pratt, and ford oconnell. Chairman of civic pac forum and contributor to the washington examiner. Ford, i find it interesting because i saw articles all over today and one was really good, you know, trump, trump, trump. One was from a never trumper who said you know what . Hes done great things with isis, but im concerned with some of the otherly things like charlottesville and then there was a progressive who said you have to give him credit. Hes done more than we thought he would. The media is never going to give trump a fair shake. Prior to last week, i would have given President Trump a b plus primarily for his economic stewardship for the tax bill. Now im going to change that to an a minus as a recovering attorney, i know how important the federal courts are in our society and our everyday life. And while neil gorsuch was a great pick to the supreme court, his real victory was appointing the mostever federal Appeals Court judges in a first president ial term. Look, if theres anything that donald trump could do better, its making people feel more can feel with him as president because that window of opportunity is going to end after the democrats possibly retake the house in 2018. Charles ashley, your thoughts. Im going to tiptoe i think around a little bit of what ford said. Because i do think theres a good mixture of things in there to discuss. The fact that, you know, his Approval Ratings to begin with respect in the low 40s. Now theyre in the mid30s. Hes going to have a difficult time when it comes to midterms. It doesnt matter what hes been able to accomplish because people see him as someone who is charles so you dont think people are going to vote with their pocketbooks if their paychecks are bigger . No. Because i think what were going to see is a lot of republicans who will sit on the sidelines because they are so disaffected by what has happened within the republican party. I mean, it was something that they felt was hijacked. Im one of them. By trump where it became almost like, you know, the trump party where all of a sudden we just said, hey, we dont care what happens. We dont care about behavior. We dont care about demeanor in the office. And that has become part of the problem here because that has redefined the republican party. If we stuck to the principles of limited government, lower taxes, and all of these things. Charles well, youre going to get lower taxes probably in 24 hours. Will that be the message that comes away with voters . Charles i will say this, though. A lot of folks are saying, first of all, the party belongs to the folks who registered and vote, ford. So this is what the American Public chose. And, you know, i have to tell you, denene, i remember president obama running on him and biden running on the notion that bin laden is dead. How about isis is dead . Thats a hell of a platform to run on and the economic prosperity, i dont know how you could ignore that. Listen, i give the president an a. I think hes done an outstanding job, considering the cleanup aisle five mess he inherited from former president obama with the fundamental transformation of america. But i do think its time for the naysayers to pick a team. Are you going to support President Trump, his America First agenda and the forgotten men and women, or are you going to support the deep state, which has their own agenda, and theyre working against him . Its time to pick a team. To denenes point, i just want to say this. Imagine we had these accomplishments, and we fixed it to any other name. Mitt romney, marco rubio, other than donald john trump. Ashley pratt right now would be going crazy. Do any of those men behave the way. It doesnt do you want to make america more president ial, i would support him 100 . But i disagree with that. The president of the United States. I disagree with that. I would get him behind. That was in before the charles hold on one second. He has yet to act president ial to me. And the moment he has, i have said great, and i plaud him. And then he does the next stupid thing on twitter in 140 characters. Charles so i understand where people may say what you know . Some of these tweets rub me the wrong way. But to have a tweet erase the crushing defeat of isis, to have a tweet erase threequarters in a row gdp growth, to have a tweet have people earn more money than they earn, that seems superficial. You would see that behavior not from mitt romney, from not marco rubio. But he none of these people act the statesman role. He has accomplished but more than any charles wait a second. Let me bring in denene for a moment because you were a donald trump backer from the very beginning. And, obviously, your pleas with what youve seen so far. Listen, the economy is booming. Unemployment is at a is low. Even black unemployment is at historically low numbers. Youre seeing whats going on with the markets going up every day. Consumer confidence is high. Consumers are spending, rather, twothirds of the economy. So, listen, i do think americans are going to vote with their wallet come midterm elections and come 2020 because theyre going to see that theres a difference with their family in terms of the the economy and more money in their pocket. Charles all right. Guys, and that should be the message that the white house puts forward. Charles i think they will, as a matter of fact. Very Good Spirited as well. Meanwhile, we just talked about it. The dow closing at a record for the 70th time. Never done that before. And you know what . The economic underpinning. No one talked about the them as much as i do. So im going to tell you why i think this thing is just starting. Coming up charles john skipper has resigned as president of espn and cochairman of disney media networks. Says he struggled for substance addiction for years and now he plans to take care of his personal problem. Achoo achoo snap snap achoo achoo feel a cold coming on . Zicam cold remedy nasal swabs shorten colds with a snap, and reduce symptom severity by 45 . Shorten your cold with a snap, with zicam. Charles well, stock market records across the board as most markets were higher except for utilities. Which, by the way, theyve enjoyed a remarkable year, considering the strength of the rest of the market. Now investors are rotating out of the safer investments and looking to take more risks with the department that doesnt look like its going to stop. I hope everyone out there has exposure, even overweight this particular sector. Of course, there is now talk of selling on the news that tax news if it happens tomorrow some time this week. And that might happen. But at this point, investors really need to be looking down the road. And im not just talking, by the way, 2018. But theyre not a sale signal all the time. Look beneath the surface. Look at the underpingings of this economy. Because thats the story. Thats the chart. It is surging. On that note, in fact, todays report from homebuilders, the sentiment number is absolutely remarkable. Confidence soared to 74, consensus with 70. Lifted the gates to the highest level since july of 1999. Now, you have three components of this; right . Current sales up four points, expectations were up three points, traffic thats the big one. Up 8 points. Remember, traffic is the part of this report that correlates the consumer confidence. Its at its highest level of potential buy in traffic. By the way, the last reading 59. That was in 1998. And i also want to note this. That the National Association of homebuilders, he gave credit to this news, a large portion of it to improving regulatory relief to the business community. So that takes us back to tax cuts and the stock market. Obviously, theres a whole lot of excitement. And for a while on wall street, at least for corporate america, it was held in check. Considering the Third Quarter, though, 93 out of 445 S P Companies mention tax reform during the Third Quarter earnings calls. This is according to facts data. So make no mistake. Even as the Business World awaits, tax breaks, there have already been increases in investment. In fact, according to the atlanta fed, Fourth Quarter gdp, which we know is going to be around 3. 3 being powered in part by surge and real gross private domestic investment. In other words, businesses are putting money to work already. And we know the Building Blocks of the economy are shifting to the place rapidly. The Business World, the consumer world, both moving at the same speed, both to the same beat of enthusiasm. I think this is just the beginning. Meanwhile, gop leaders claim to be hours away from passing tax reform into clearing legislative victory. But they shouldnt break out the confetti just yet. Were always a little guarded. Well explain. Next. Building a website in under an hour is easy with gocentral. From godaddy in fact, 68 of people who have built their. Website using gocentral, did it in under an hour, and you can too. Build a better website in under an hour. With gocentral from godaddy. Whcold sore. Et you . Grab lunch . Cold sore. When a cold sore takes over, campho pheniques topical anesthetic plus antimicrobial action soothes pain fast. Whats for dinner . Meat loaf. Camphophenique on, cold sore pain gone. Charles gop leaders claiming to be extremely close. This close to passing tax reform with the house expected to pass the bill tomorrow and the senate could also follow suit as early as tomorrow as well. But even if republicans do pass send a bill to the president s desk before christmas, theres another major hurdle this week, and thats passing a budget before friday in order to avoid a government shut down. Five days left on the calendar. Question. Can they pull it off . Here to discuss ali, millennial blogger and back with us, gina. What do you think . I think tax reform. Lets say we think its done but keeping the government open could be a lot harder. I think theyll definitely keep the government open. Now, given, it is not as much of a privateer as passing this tax plan, simply because the gop and donald trump absolutely needs this legislative victory going into 2018. Because quite frankly, the gop has not proven in 2017 that theyre able to lead, even with the majority. So this is a win that they absolutely need. What troubles me is not the spending bill that the majority of the americans even with all the good things that weve talked about in this tax plan, the majority of Americans Still have a negative view of this tax plan, which tells me that even though the gop might be winning legislatively in this, theyre losing rhetorically, which worries me for 2018 and beyond. Charles although, gina, thats always been the case. I mean, the majority of america hated this bill even before it was crafted; right . Even before the ink hit the paper. So its ironic because so many parts of this are going to help people think they hate it now until they get a 100 check even though they dont work. So well see what happens there. But i do think ali is onto something with the republican leadership. How do they face keeping the government open . Yeah. You make a great point, charles. The obamacare mandate. Thats something that affected 80 of the people who paid that fee. Paid that fine, rather. Income levels below 50,000 a year. So just that one little thing like that. Not even to mention the gdp and the low unemployment and the High Consumer confidence and all the great things that are happening in this tax market. Not to mention all of that stuff. Playing the long game here. Charles he is. But the short game is keeping the government open. And last time President Trump cut a deal with chuck and nancy. Will we volunteering that route again . Or will this be a republican deal mostly . Yeah. I dont think the president is afraid of the fight. Because the rules have changed under President Trump. And theres not really a scramble out there that hes afraid to take on. So even if the president does end up having to explain how it is that the democrats, that obama continued to run up our National Debt and continued to spend, and were still having amtrak train disasters like the one were praying for all those people today, i think if he has to explain that, then hell explain it in real terms with real people just like he did all the way through the campaign. And i think, charles, will be surprised how that argument can turn a little bit of what we traditionally might expect on this debate. Charles but to the democrats on your part, the rhetoric, the polls, and thats something thats an arrow in their quiver. And certainly theyll use that to press their issues as we go toward that friday deadline. Absolutely. But actually, a little bit of a different perspective on that is that i actually think that chuck and nancy are going to allow the government to stay open, even with Something Like daca on the table, simply because it puts it gives them the tools going into 2018 to say that they fought long and hard for those illegal immigrants, those 800,000 illegal immigrant children. But republicans were so cruel that they didnt allow them to protect them. So i think honestly either way, democrats are seeing this as a win. I think the government is going to stay functioning past friday. I dont think democrats have enough to shut it down. Charles all right. Ladies, thank you, both, very, very much. Tensions are boiling today after the United States used its veto power to reflect the un security counsel over jerusalem. Weve got details on that. And also the monitorrization of our military. Next. For every hour that youre idling in your car, youre sending about half a gallon of gasoline up in the air. That amounts, over the course of the week, to about 10 pounds of carbon dioxide. Growth is good, but when it starts impacting our quality of air and quality of life, thats a problem. So forwardthinking cities like sacramento are investing in streets that are smarter and greener. The solution was right under our feet. Asphalt. Or to be more precise, intelligent asphalt. By embedding sensors into the pavement, as well as installing cameras on traffic lights, we will be able to analyze the flow of traffic. That data runs across our network and we use it to optimize the timing of lights, so that traffic flows easier and travel times are shorter. Who knew asphalt could help save the environment . Charles the u. S. Vetoed a u. N. Security Council Resolution to overturn President Trumps resolution to make jerusalem the capital of israel. Joining me, peter brookes, former Deputy Assistant secretary of defense. Its obviously a move the rest of the world does not like. Even though america, we decided we would do this a couple decade ago. President obama was the first one to follow through on this. Tight was diplomatically defensible. A sovereign choice for us to recognize a certain capital. It wasnt disclosed how it might be decided upon by the two parties. The u. S. Was right to veto this resolution at the flaits. Charles we have seen some instability. But promises of instability that will be blamed solely on this decision or use it as an excuse to create the habitat terror groups like to do. The thing that cause so much violence against israel is not when the president of the United States obey the will of the people, its antisemitism. And it was there long before the president decided to do what was in the interest of the United States. He didnt just do what the americans people wanted him to do decades ago. It also helps the Peace Process because it disabuses the palestinians of the notion that the United States will recognize jerusaleming a anything but the capital of israel. Charles what about the modernization of israel. We have a military with a lot of aging tanks, bombers and other hardware. Its an aging military and we continue to deploy it. It doesnt get a chance to reset at home because its engaged overseas. President trump is trying to give the military the modernization it requires. It will probably need more than what the president has lauded. Peace through strength is a National Security strategy. The best way to deter and end war is if we have the Strongest Military possible and thats what we are trying to do. Charles many are saying this is harkening back to the industrial military complex. Rebecca is right we need Strong National defense and take care of issues abroad. Its the direct result much going after isis overseas. We are safer at home. Charles thank you both have much. Now lou dobbs. [ ] lou good evening, everybody, President Trump unveiled his National Security strategy, one that above all puts America First. In a highly anticipated speech in d. C. The president said the United States cannot guard its interests abroad if it doesnt protect prosperity at home. He singled out russia and china as rival nations which seek to diminish u. S. Power and security. Also President Trump and republicans on the verge of a major tax cut victory. Rino ss
