20 so what does that all mean . White house director of legislative Affairs Mark Short is here, he will tell us. Matt lauer apologizing following reports that he had several inappropriate encounters with women during his tenure at nbc and now folks are asking who knew what, and when did they know it . Nbc insists none of the current executives knew anything. What about former bosses . Are there legal implications to all of this . Were on it for you. Ambassador nikki haley issues a tern warning to north korea. Stop your acts of aggression now. Will tough talk change anything . Were asking retired fourstar general jack keane. First to adam shapiro on capitol hill to tax reform and my goodness, were inching, close and closer. Mccain news, big stuff, adam. Reporter huge news what john mccain said about voting yes for the bill. It provides cover for 10 senators on the fence. But none of those senators have said no other than ron johnson. Even johnson gotten essentially what he wants as has senator daines, increase in the deduction for Small Businesses on pass through income. So, where do we stand on all this . Mitch mcconnell hinted we could see a vote late tonight or possibly tomorrow. They were saying tomorrow. But likely tonight 10 p. M. Around that time, maybe later. There will be debates what is in the thing. Senators like Susan Collins want to restore the property Tax Deduction to cap of 10,000. So she introduced a amendment to do that. You have got democrats, democratic leadership, actually clearing the way, trish for some of their members to vote for the bill. Those members in states that they have to be centrists and face really difficult reelection campaigns. But Bernie Sanders says, hey, one second. This bill is not going to be good for the country. Let you listen to the senator from vermont. If they pass this legislation, which will result in a 1. 4 trillion increase in the deficit, they will come back immediately to pay for these tax breaks for the rich by cutting social security, medicare, medicaid, education. Reporter were hearing a lot of that from democrats but then you get Susan Collins once again who says that Republican Leadership has assured her, because she is concerned about that, that that wont happen. Listen to Susan Collins. I have a personal commitment that that will not occur. And, that has been discussed with paul ryan also on the house side. So, if it were going to occur it, would change, i would not even be considering voting for this bill. Reporter so to wrap this all up, trish. Even when the Senate Passes its version of tax reform, it will go to conference committee. Thats what were hearing. Well hash out differences but clear the way for senate to work on continuing resolution to fund the government. Dont want to talk about that well deal with it next week. Well have passage, probably late tonight. Possibly tomorrow. Back to you. Trish lots of news and more coming as you point out next week. Thanks very much, adam. Joining me White House Legislative Affairs director mark short. Good to have you here. Thanks for having me on. Trish were getting closer and closer. How big of a deal is it in your view that president mccain will sign up for this, he will sign isnt. Obviously getting senator mccains support is a big step and gets us closer and gets American People much closer to deliver real tax relief so they can hopely have that by, come christmastime they will get the Christmas Present the president has been talking about and have it signed into law. Trish what will you do about some of the other holdouts . Does he essentially bring them along with minimum . Are you worried about a few, senator flake, senator collins and others . It is my job to worry about them always. I think we feel pretty good right now. The republican conference come together. Trish, i believe this tax bill is president said largest in american history. It provide relief for middle income families and we hope actually at this point we can earn democrat support on this bill as well. Trish ill tell you, the market thinks highly of it. The market like what is it hears what it seasoned hopes it does get through as we look at big new record here, up 310 points right now, mark, on the dow. What about this corporate rate of 22 . Because thats now talked about. The president said look, 20 is far as i go. He would have preferred to see 15 is there any chance 22 is option. Trish we hope to keep it at 20 . What weve seen on International Stage is that other countries have begun to reduce their rates below 20 . In ireland down to 2007 . Great britain moving to 17 . Many of the countries president visited in asia are below 20 . To remain competitive it has to be at 20. We dont want to see it creeping back up. To your question as well, weve seen five 1 2 trillion dollars added in asset value since the president s election. Unemployment lowest point in 17 years. Jobs are coming back. Regulatory impact is significant to the economy. Providing tax relief as well well continue gdp growing at 3 or more which will put more dollars in American Peoples pockets. Trish it is confidence. People despite all the division, marc out there, and a lot of people want to take aim at the president , overall i do think there is sense of optimism we havent quite seen in recent years. I think that is one reason why you see consumer spending, why you see gdp growth upwards of 3 and stock market near 25,000 now potentially. Youre right, trish t was Consumer Confidence, 17year high as well. Economy growing at 1. 8 during the obama years was something that this country could not continue at that pace. No way we could fund our other commitments. We need to generate growth. It will help the economy grow to fund our other priorities such as national security. Trish hard to argue with this on the corporate side. There are democrats never going to go along with this, but, marc, they had once pushed for tax reform on the corporate side. They know what a big deal this is. Why are they still digging in their heels . Is it all politics . As you said, trish, unfortunately the country is pretty divided on partisan lines. Here in washington where the division is strongest. Many senators who advocated for reduction of corporate rates, said we should have a tax plan focused on middle income families are choosing not to vote only for political reasons. That is too bad. We would like to see the senate and house come together in bipartisan fashion behind this bill. We think it should be supported by both republicans and democrats alike. Listening to intro, listen to Bernie Sanders talk about deficits is quite ironic since he worked worked with obama to d 10 trillion of debt during the obama years. Trish amusing some ways but not so earth. Politics doesnt pay the bills in peoria, right . A bunch of politicians want to live high off the hog because of Government Spending but reality for every other american out there what pays the bills is a job that they have or a business that they have. And we want to enable them to keep as much of that money as they can themselves, right . Thats right. I think that this tax bill estimates have said will increase wages for the average family by 4,000. It will provide in the senate bill particularly, for family earning 72,000 a year, 2,000 in tax resieve. For families in peoria, this is plan they will like and hopefully put more dollars in their pocket. Trish marc short, thanks. Thanks for having me. Trish it is not perfect. Axe absolutely it is not perfect. You heard me express concern what it means for individuals, high income earners for example in states like new york and california around new jersey. However it is going to mean a lot on the corporate side. It is going it mean more in the way of profits. Which means more for the stock market already again at a new high, now up nearly 300 points in todays session. Markets are skyrocketing. The dow past 24,000. It is incredible. 6,000 points since this president was elected. Joining me for nor analysis, Vice President , heather zumarriaga and president of capital formation, mark bloomfield. Heather, wow, i dont think we had another president come into office and so quickly see such a an increase in the markets. This is fourth best stock Market Performance after president elected in history, right behind kennedy bush, clinton. Markets are very resilient right now. Some is on the backs of tax reform passing this evening but you have to look at gdp growth, above 3. 3 right now. As well as Consumer Confidence and jobs. Unemployment is at a 17year low, 11year low, im sorry, trish that matters. Fundamentals, mark, are looking good. My question to you, if we dont get tax reform, by the way looking increasingly like it will happen, that is big deal that senator mccain said he would support this, mark if it doesnt happen do we still see 24k on the dow . You better ask somebody who knows more about the markets. All i know im a fan of yours and i watched you interview those president ial candidates. You tell me. You know more about the markets. I can talk about what tax reform can do for the economy. Trish i will tell you what i think it can do for the markets. Heather, i think it can send things a whole lot higher. A lot of people on the show say fundamentals, much to your point, heather, the fundamentals are good now, theyre Strong Enough many ways to support some of these levels. If you get tax reform that is the cherry on top. Fundamental does matter. If you look at some of the smaller companies, russell 2000 that is leading gauge, pointing whether or not tax reform gets passed very soon. That is a good proxy to look at, small cap stocks. Trish lets talk about the policy for a second. Mark, i think you can speak to this a little bit. My concern is that state and local taxes will not be able to be deducted anymore. So in some states that have very high rates those people will not be able to deduct it and i question what kind of economic toll that will take on things. I get it, if you tell me it is not fair texas, new hampshire, florida are subsidizing new york, i get it, i understand you, i hear you. Im just concerned about the immediate lag effect if you start taxing people that make the money and are paying the taxes, more, what effect will that have on the economies in these big states . Trish, this is a setup. Did you see my oped in the wall street journal last week . Trish of course. Republicans expect ad capitalgains tax cut. And they will get a capital tax increase because of the elimination of salt but that is just one factor. We really ought to look at the bill overall and if you look at the bill overall, i dont know if you know this i was secretary of president reagans Transition Group of taxes and i feel like then, i feel like today. It is the same sort of feeling, that same sort of fundamental change, as you have said in your other interviews. It is Corporate Tax changes that are going to make a big difference, if you look at, you were talking about 20 to 22. Were at 35 now which makes us the worst Corporate Tax rate in the oecd. If we go to 20 where we want to be, we would be in the upper best half. If we go to 22, we would be smack in the middle. So i think the corporate part is the growth part. I think expensing is an important part. Yes, were talking about ronald reagan. He said gosh, if i can get 70 of what i want i will worry about the 20, 30, later. That is how i feel about capital gains. Someone mentioned that to me yesterday and i was thinking about it last night and ive been thinking about it this morning because ive been troubled about parts of this bill. I think they could have done, should have done more on the individual side. As i joke im a little bit greedy, i want it awe. As we get down to the final moments, i think heather it is a big deal what were talking about on the corporate side. I hate the idea canada is nor competitive country than us because they have a lower tax rate. That is not good. Trish france, you name it. Wait a minute, my wife is french. She agrees. Lets talk about the greek socialists. Theyre more excited about reducing Corporate Taxes than we are. Trish so in other words, we want to get back who we are as nation, heather, right . We were never about all this taxation. We were about growth and enterprise and creativity. Yes. Trish lets get back to that because we want to encourage that for the future. Comes down do you want the government to have more power and control over money you earn, or do you feel like you would be the most efficient and effective allocator of that money yourself . Senator Lindsey Graham said that 22 is not that bad. Like a cocktail. You can have a little bit of this or a little less than this, terms of moving it from 20 to 22 . But failure is not an option. So i think republicans, despite their quarles will get on board today and get it done tomorrow. Trish remember the reagan quote for sure as mark pointed out. Good to see you guys. Mark, thank you for your kind words. Appreciate it. The dow hitting a major milestone today, up 308 points, 24,248. Were past 24,000. There is all the optimism about tax reform. Some say 25 coulding well on the way if we get it. Were on. How do you position yourself next . I just finished months of chemo. But i dont want to talk about months. I want to talk about years. Treatments have gotten better, so. Im hoping for good years ahead. Thats thanks to Research Funded by the American Cancer Society. Leaving every competitor, threat and challenge outmaneuvered. Comcast business outmaneuver. Trish upward of 300 points near highs of the session. Bluechip average is above 24,000 First Time Ever. Why in renewed hopes for tax reform. Senator mccain saying he will go along with this. Dow was 18,000 when the president was elected one year ago. Isnt that incredible . It moved higher and higher upwards of 6,000 points. President voicing enthusiasm on twitter, he tweeted, i quote, stock market hits new record high. Confidence and enthusiasm now. More great numbers coming out. What does it mean for your investments . Joining me on s. A. T. , Massmutual Deputy cio and kaltbaum Capital Management president , gary kaltbaum. Good to see you both. 313 is this all tax reform . I think it is all tax reform, trish. This tax reform is rocket fuel to the corporate earnings. Investors are not sure it will go through and higher probability going through getting priced into the market. It is getting priced into the market for two or three weeks. Trish rocket fuel to corporate earnings. Gary, you talked about that as well. In other words, Companies Earnings portfolios will basically look that much prettier or earnings picture will look that much prettier and everybodys portfolio looks that much prettier in return because lower taxes means more in the way of corporate revenues. Look there is a trifecta going on here now. You still have ridiculous easy money around the globe. I mean easy money. You have economies around the globe finally gaining some traction. And now this. For me, it is not the greatest tax reproposal of all time but the most important thing it does . It changes trajectory what weve seen for eight years. More taxes, regulations, rules, mandates, fees, fines. So were going the other way not only on taxes but everything else. This is all very good news longer term. Shorter term, the market can pull back a few, being no biggie. Transports, financials are up 7 last five days. Speaking loud and clear. Trish they think it will happen. Gary, im curious. I think maybe you share some of cliffs concerns and my concerns when it comes to problems at least on the individual side of this tax plan. You mentioned it is not perfect but the corporate aspect is enough sell you. Walk me through your concerns. Im a big believer they have not done enough for the people that produce the most in this economy. That is business owners, movers and shakers. Dare i say the privileged few wealthy. I believe 39 is too high. I think reagan had it right at 28. I think people working into the month of july and august just to pay the government first is ridiculous. But you know, it is the way it is going to be. But look on the corporate side, it is just darn good news. If you speak to anybody in corporations right now, it is not just the just numbers, but attitude comings out of the white house. Complete change of what weve seen over eight years. Bush wasnt so great either. Unward and upwards. Next up, entitlement and welfare reform that has to be done in a big way. Trish cliff that is something youre passionate about. You sent me numbers, this youre very concerned we cant continue on this trajectory, there is no possible way. It is not sustainable. Math doesnt work. We have 20. 5 trillion in debt. Health care costs 3 of gdp, highest in the world. Liabilities for retirees, pensions and health care. The math is just mindboggling. Trish is that the next part then . Get tax reform done, then start to tackle spending . Somebody has to do it. It hasnt been done in a long time. We have to look at that seriously. Trish this is what the president promised he would do. Next up entitlement reforms. Thank you so much, cliff. Gary, always a pleasure, sir. Thank you. Trish the matt lauer harrassment scandal widening today as new accusers come forward. The big question who the heck at management at nbc knew about this this they had to know about this, right . Why didnt anybody bother doing anything . Why were they so protective of him . What are the legal implications, if management knew and didnt act . Attorney miss at this maris is here. She has intel for you next. Can make all the difference. It can provide what we call an unlock a realization that often reveals a better path forward. But you can feel confident in our investment experience around the world. Call us or your advisor. T. Rowe price. Invest with confidence. Trish near highs of the day. Up 331 points on the dow. Senator mccain is all for it now. After a bit of a change in mind. He wasnt sure. Now he wants it. And the expectation is you could see other senators follow suit. So maybe, just maybe they might get this done. The markets like the sound of that. Meanwhile, the fallout continues over at nbc for matt lauer as former today show host is apologizing for inappropriate sexual behavior. There are no words to by the pain and sorrow i caused others by words and actions. For people i truly hurt. Some of what i said about me is not true or mischaracterized. There is enough truth for me to be embarrassed and ashamed. He was fired after a pattern of behavior that started at Winter Olympics in 2014 in russia. Since then, at least two more women have gone to nbc with similar complaints. A reporter for variety says the numbers will keep on growing. The company says current management knew absolutely nothing about this but how is that possible . I guess my other question in all of this, if they found out about this on monday night, and by wednesday morning he was gone, that was a pretty swift decision. They said that there was reason to believe that this was not a isolated incident. So again, how much did they know . Attorney misty marsh joins me right now. I guess what everybody is sort of saying. How could you, how could you be in an organization that long around somebody who is doing this kind of stuff and not have some some inkling . Exactly. That is the critical question. The question is, did nbc find out about this conduct before this accuser came forward on monday . In that vanity fair article that we read the accusers came out said, we went to executives. We tried to get some sort of relief from these actions but it fell on deaf ears. Trish in other words they were protecting him . They were protecting him because he was part of million, multimillion dollar franchise. That was the insinuation in the article. The question becomes from a legal proper speculative, who did they tell, did they go to human resources. Human resources says there was no complaints. No complaints. Just because a piece of paper didnt make it too the file doesnt mean a valid complaint wasnt lodged f you tell a supervisor, executive, that imputes knowledge to the company, when you have somebody in supervisory role. The question who did they tell . Did they qualify as a supervisor to imput that knowledge to the company. So, once the company has knowledge, trish, they have an affirmative duty to investigate and take corrective action to protect people from sexual harrassment. Trish so bad management . Possibly very bad management in your view . If management knew and didnt do anything is the Company Liable . Are individuals liable . The company is liable. If they knew about the conduct, failed to take action, depends on who the people told if they rise to that level of management, supervisor, executive, the company can be absolutely liable under federal law and state and city laws mirror title vii, new york state human rights law. Trish why do you think they moved so quickly . With respect to monday, the incident was handled really well by nbc. Accuser came forward monday a swift investigation was conducted and by wednesday matt lauer was terminated. Again we dont know every detail. We only know what was put out there so far, there was some sort of text messages, some sort of writing to corroborate this persons story. Once nbc had that, they really didnt have a choice. Once these allegations are corroborated they have to move forward with the termination. Trish really, it is incredible, we havent talked about a host of other people just in the news within the last 24 hours, conyers included but how long did you think this goes on . It seems to be, from what we hear from variety, they have been investigating this for two months. They said they advised nbc they were conducting an investigation. Did nbc no more than theyre letting on . It is possible. But they have said, very ominously this is not the end and were going to see more. Trish misty, thank you so much. Thank you. Trish market up 322. Pretty good stuff. We have an eye on it. Plus u. N. Ambassador nikki haley warning north korea they will be utterly destroyed if war breaks out if a missile hits United States in act of provocation. Retired general jack keane is here. He looks where it is all headed. Thats next. Trish big day for the markets up 310 points. Senator john mccain announces his support for tax bill. Cbs on potential takeover deal. Cvs is offering 66 billion to buy aetna. The deal may be formally announced by next monday. Still expected to draw scrutiny from antitrust regulators. Nfl reached agreement with group of players to donate 89 million to social justice causes. The nfl will stagger contributions next seven years, going towards issues most important to africanamerican communities. In response to nfl players process protesting the nfl this season. North korea launching a missile that could potentially hit the United States of america. Now the u. S. Is requesting even stricter sanctions on the rogue nation. U. S. Envoy nikki haley making a point of serious consequences should war break out. Listen to her here. The dictator of north korea made a joyce yesterday that brings the world closer to war, not farther from it. We never sought war with north korea and still today we do not seek it. If war does come, it will be because of continued acts of aggression like we witnessed yesterday. Trish if war does come, how close are we to that . Joining me here on set to discuss, fox news military analyst general jack keane. General keane, always good to see you. Are we potentially heading down the path . I think it is accurate characterization. This is clearly an acceleration of this programs largest missile. Can reach entire range of the United States. His technology is advancing. He is racing to get the technology as quickly as he can. He still has challenges out there with reentry vehicle coming from outer space back into the earths atmosphere. He has to miniature rise a weapon to put on it. In order to assure he accomplish that some kind of atmospheric test. Those are things still in front of him. Nonetheless, lets be honest here, he made some Real Progress here. And the ambassador, our ambassador to the u. N. Is, it is accurate characterization. He is raising to nuclearized icbm capability. We are closer to war. Trish because we will not allow him to have it. We will not allow him to have it. There is a lot in between, trish. Okay. That inbetween is it strangling this guy as much as we can economically. They want more sanctions. What we did in the past, we capped oil export, out of china and we capped their worker market that they did, in many countries participate in that where they hire north koreans. What we want to do now, just shut it down. Did we try to do that with the last resolution, the last u. N. Resolution but russia and china wouldnt get to it. She will try to get them to agree to that now. What we want to do, get them to tighten the noose. The problem is he is raising to the capability. Pompeo likely months, not years for them to get the final capability but economic sanctions take time. You dont get a result overnight. That is one of the challenges. If we only had months and not years, will sanctions do what you need them to do if they take that much time . Im not convinced china is allin yet though i think the conversation he has, president xi with President Trump is very positive in that sense. They both agree in principle, denuclearize north korea. That is something china never agreed to in the past. So the issue is how, what is the method . Are you moving fast enough. Trish do they have the capability, the chinese to actually really push the issue . I think they have significant leverage to do this. And i also believe, i mean, realistically, say it straight out, they can change this leader out if they want to. Chinese can . Yeah. Put another leader in there is clearly aligned with them, he is staunch economist but not creating this kind of nightmare scenario. The chinese do not want war on the chinese peninsula. The ambitions are enormous with this new president. He just not only wants to dominate the Pacific Region but replace the United States. Trish you said chinese can change out kim jongun. Maybe we dont have the ability but maybe they do . I doubt we have it. Im not suggesting this would be easy. But, clearly they have thought about it in their own meetings that they have had in terms of what options do we have here . Can we get to this guy, put somebody else in play there. I mean they have a better sense what is happening there. But they also made the point to the president that listen, while we have leverage, we also are challenged by this regime because of the closedness of the regime. Secrecy of the regime, they keep a lot from china. So i understand that i still believe that is option out there. Another option out there, trish, when regime is getting squeezed, pretty bad internally, and they can see it is potential for economic collapse, some of his own leaders may make that decision, say look it, we have to stop this is a potential nightmare here. Trish crossing the border, trying to get out of north korea. So, perhaps, yeah, when you have that many sanctions and life becomes that miserable it starts to look more attractive to be not part of that regime. We cant rely on those options. Those are hopeful options. We have to rely on something more realistic. Those things are out there. Trish general jack keane, i will see you in los angeles at Reagan Defense forum. General keane will be there. Well talk about strategy for defense in the coming years. It will be an interesting conversation. Youre hosting the panel. Trish i am, on saturday here on fox business. Thanks so much, general. See you there. The New York TimesEditorial Board so desperate for republican tax reform plans to fail that the New York Times actually tweeted phone numbers of republican senators. Can you believe that . And went out there and urged all of their readers to call these senators and to vote against it. What kind of journal system that . Is it appropriate to be tweeting out peoples phone numbers . Click, call or visit today. Trish New York Times is pushing its liberal agenda to new heights. Theyre now openly lobbying against the republican tax bill, in a pretty strange way. The newspapers Editorial Board, publishing phone numbers belonging to several gop senators on twitter, urging people to call them, tell their representatives to oppose the plan. President trump responding, tweeting, quote, the failing New York Times, pipe organ for the democratic party, has become a virtual lobbiest for them in regards to our massive tax cut bill. They are wrong so off then i know we have a winner exclamation point. We have ford oconnell. You got to appreciate his sense of humor but i think there is something to it, right . If the New York Times says it is bad, it must be good. At least when it comes to economic i think the tax bill is absolutely great but let me say this, if youre a republican, youre hardly shocked by the New York Times actions here. As a former reporter i have to say this is unbelievable. This might be the death of journalism and last shred of dignity the New York Times has left. What people are missing here, saying hey, we dont like the tax bill. They engaged basically in naked political campaigning on behalf of the democratic party. Normally when you do that you either have to set up a pac or register with a lobbiest as donald trump suggests. This is absolutely insane. They take it to new heights. The true hypocrisy here, trish, the northbound times has been railing against Citizens United which says corporations have free speech like the New York Times and arguing the government should be able to shut down corporations that engage in this kind of action. This is absolutely unbelievable all around on New York Times and frankly president strums right. Trish what about peoples privacy . Tweeting out phone numbers. Going to kind of pretty negative, nasty level there, ford. Look there, is no question about it. They took the overt step. Im not sure congressman or woman you actually have any privacy. Im not sure you can win that argument in court but youre absolutely right. Theyre taking it to new low. Basically, forget journalism, forget what the principles are. We dont like the bill. We want everyone to know about it. We want to you try to stop it. Trish this is the oped board, devils advocate, the oped board has a little more room. They absolutely do have a little more room, trish. Youre right. Youre journalist. Im a former reporter. We know newsrooms and Editorial Boards are separated here. But at same time the he had material board is engaging in direct Political Action that is the real problem. The question whether or not other newspapers follow suit because i have never seen this from another major newspaper beyond a daily shopper. What is this activism journalists that sprouted up all over the place . Is this part that opinion sells . So now the New York Times feels that they have to have a pretty solid opinion themselves, otherwise they become increasingly obsolete . Why is this happening so much now, i guess that is my question . I think you raise a great question here. Look, i think first of all the New York Times knows that most consumers of news cant tell the difference between actual news and opinion. So therefore they dont care about blurring the distinction. I do think today because we live busy lives, opinions sell more than actual news. It is always about hitting the responsive cord of peoples emotions. Frankly look we know very well the gray lady subscribers are 90, to 95 liberal. Frankly this is what they want to hear. Trish they are playing to their crowd. Right. Trish ford oconnell, good to see you. Were on a tear today. Soaring past 24,000. That is many about yesterdays news. Is 25,000 next . We have gain up more than 300 points on the dow. This as a Technical Glitch at American Airlines allowed too many pilots to take vacation over holidays. Airline with major pilot shortage. That is not good for your holiday plans, is it . Thousands of flights have no pilots thanks to a computer glitch within the scheduling system. They are here to explain. This is quite serious. If you booked a flight, imagine, making these plans with your family, your friends, deciding to spend the holidays together and if you book the ticket from any one of the cities boston, charlotte, d. C. , new york city, dallasfort worth, miami, chicago, if you booked a ticket from any of those places for the time between december 17 and december 31, your flight is in jeopardy, although i do want to say, American Airlines, in the past 24 hours has come out with a statement now saying instead of 15000 affected flights, which was the original number, they just updated saying we are grateful for the pilots were stepping up to the plate, picking up trips, in other words, some people, some pilots are giving up part of the Christmas Holiday to come in and five for the airline. They are paying them well. Time and a half. Essentially it was a glitch. They have an hr vacation system where everyone can request time off and the day that all the pilots put in and got the yes was a good feeling to be off christmas day. Then, 15000 flights, the original number, but now its down to just a few hundred. They think they can satisfy all their customers. Yes, they are doing their best to take care of their pilots by paying them time in half and doing its best to not cancel any flights. Thats the latest statement from American Airlines. No flights will be canceled they are figuring it out. They have pilots in reserve for the month of december so, as far as the outreach, they are managing it. And they may just have to buck up a little more money. Maybe they have to do a little doubletime or whatever it takes to get people where they need to be. I am going to have a new york christmas. Me too. Ill be around. Maybe well have a little eggnog. Thank you so much. So, right now im heading out to california because we are taking the show there. Shes been dealing with that a bit. On a final note, i want to point out this is a very big day for the country and for the markets because for the First Time Ever we have topped 24000 on the Dow Jones Industrial average. You can see weve come off the highs a little bit just up 294 points, but the expectation here is tax reform will get done. Senator mccain has come out in support of tax reform and thats a big deal because he was considered a holdout. There are still a few holdouts but the thought is they will move over to the other side of the aisle be voting yes in part because of the leadership shown by senator mccain in this and ill tell you, markets like it. This is a big deal for the markets. Its a big deal for the economy and for corporate profits. Thats why you are seeing all this up side. You may continue to see much more upside in these markets should this will go through as early as tonight. Liz has got you covered. She is here now. 24 karat tao investors going for the gold. Theyre blasting the dow through 24000, but will it close there in this final hour . Financials rocketing higher with the senate on the left part of your screen will have enough float to pass the tax reform. They are still debating the bill as we wait for the White House Press briefing to begin any moment. Some key senators have moved into the yes camp. We had several in the maybes. What about some democrats moving to the yes side. Its a possibility
