Oh, my god melissa the deadliest terror attack in new york city, since 9 11, leaving at least eight people dead, 11 injured. A suspected terrorist plowing a truck through a bike lane, ramming into a bus carrying small children all in the shadow of the World Trade Center. Right now, fbi agents and Police Officials searching for evidence in paterson, new jersey, where the suspect lives. The investigation is still in its early stages as we learn more about the suspect and possible connections to isis. Plus the delay in our nations capitol. Republican leaders are hashing out lastminute details on the gop plan to revamp the tax code. The big reveal is expected tomorrow. Among our guests this hour, former arkansas governor, Mike Huckabee, jason lewis a member of House Budget Committee, David Stockman, former budget director under president rage again and mubin shaikh. Former radical jihadist. David nicole, happened before, terror attacks, the markets are doing well. Absolutely. There are two separate attacks, terror attack devastated and felt around the world. Yet markets really stepped away from one terror attack after another. We made record highs, record highs with the dow, nasdaq, s p, each during trading. None of which actually closed at record highs. But we did see technology names, for example, really moving forward. We had winners on the dow. Intel, disney, dow, dupont, apple. Which had been earlier winner, hit alltime high. Ended up pulling back by end of the day. Were in the thick of earnings season. Were watching facebook and also tesla, very closely now, as we are waiting the earnings here in this hour. Facebook closed up 260, new alltime high today. Tesla down 10 bucks, down 3 . A stellar winner here 2. 60. Production problems with tesla for this quarter. Well wait until the numbers break and bring those numbers to you. Last but not least, papa johns, i love football, dont know about you, during the National Anthem protests papa johns saying affecting numbers for this quarter, but say Going Forward. Viewership dropped roughly 10 , maybe more. Big picture, they say it is affecting their pizza sales. David economic consequences for the protests. Thank you. Melissa. Melissa terror strikes new york city. Isisinspired attack police calling it worst since 9 11. A suspect plowing a pickup truck down a busy bike path. He is a from uzbekistan, came to u. S. On diversity visa in 2010. Connell mcshane in manhattan close to where it happened. Connell, what is the latest on this . Reporter a lot we learned today, melissa about the suspected terrorist who killed eight people here at the scene yesterday. It was a little over 24 hours ago, the area where were standing in Lower Manhattan, by any definition a still very active crime scene. Were trying to sew you that. As pete, our photographer, takes you down chambers street from where we are to greenwich. Officiallooking plaque vehicles arrived on the scene couple hours ago. Traffic has begun moving to the north at least one lane on west street now. If we switch to video we shot earlier in the day today, you will see the car, a rented, flatbed white home depot car, rented from home depot, that this terrorist weaponized yesterday and ran over all of these people. We also learned a lot at the briefing that authorities held earlier in the day. Here is some of that. We have a lot to go through. The detective using hundreds of detectives has been going up and down the westside eye hay on both sides of the street meticulously trying to pick up every piece of video from every security camera, every traffic camera, every bank camera, everything anything that will help us put together this timeline. Reporter thats what theyre doing as you look live at Freedom Tower in Lower Manhattan one World Trade Center site of horror in this neighborhood. It is blocks from yesterdays attack. As we get down from the Freedom Tower and back to chambers street, you get a sense how close it is. One terrorist attack to another, far worse 16 years ago but pretty bad yesterday i can tell you. Security is stepped up here in new york city. The marathon will be run as planned on sunday, but do so with enhanced security procedures. As a matter of fact officials were saying earlier, they have essentially doubled normal security measures at number of different locations here in new york. Airports, bridges, tunnels, transportation hubs like penn station. That is where we are. The investigation continues. They want to know about this man, who may have helped him carry out yesterdays terror attack. Back to you. Melissa we have the huge marathon in new york city coming up. They said well have very much increased, stepped up police presence. Best in the world here in new york city. Connell, thank you. David it is. That is why we live here despite those high taxes. Meanwhile are investors being optimistic about markets discounting terrorist attacks and tax reform delays . Here is jonathan hoenig, capitalist pig fund founder, and steve cortes. Steve, i remember 9 11 well. I was covering the terrorist attacks in 2001. People were wondering how long the market was be closed. When and if they would come back. They came back roaring a week later. Took about a week to get back in shape, but, they did. And the markets were surprised, and im going to have interrupt myself because im talking because we have facebook earnings. Well get right back to you twice. Go ahead and report them, ashley earnings on per share basis coming in at 1. 59. As you can see the estimate was a buck 28. So a nice beat there. Revenue of 10. 33 billion for the quarter. The estimate was for 9. 84 billion. That is well over 40 increase yearoveryear on the revenue. Daily active users for facebook, always remarkable, coming in close to estimates at 1. 37 billion. As for monthly active users, over two billion. 2. 07 billion, a hair better than expected. Well get more into advertising revenue which is so important. Mobile advertising is about 88 of the total advertising revenue. We can see that on these numbers. Pretty impressive stuff on those headline numbers, david and melissa. Melissa ashley, thank you. Jonathan and steve back with us. We have fox businesss deirdre bolton. What jumps out at you . Well the beat, the beat on the top line and the beat on the bottom line but what im thinking about with facebook where some of their executives are this week. They are in d. C. Testifying before congresspeople about how foreign actors manipulated their system. So okay, its a stand out blockbuster quarter but Going Forward facebook will have to make a lot of changes. Ones that cost money, to be able to really get its head around this whole issue of who is using their system and for what. Earlier this week, we talked about the fact that 126 million americans saw posts that were meant to sway them before our president ial election. Thats a third of our population. Melissa yeah. Facebook did say a few weeks ago they would hire 1000 new humans. As ashley talked about, the number of users they have is two billion. Even if you hire 1000 new people as editors melissa yeah. If i have two billion users that is a drop in the bucket. Melissa absolutely. Steve, so they will hire 1000 new humans. Are they in Silicon Valley . I mean, you know, i dont know. You talk about filtering the message, what is fake news and what is real news, what is from the russians. Right. Melissa i dont know that i have anymore faith in their humans at facebook. What do you think . With the algorithms. I agree, melissa. You make a great point. Im starting to hear more and more people on the right, people i talk to in washington, d. C. , within the white house, political folks, who generally are very probusiness and not proregulation. Im hearing more and more of them talk about the need for regulation because these companies have become so ubiquitous, so powerful and they have a ability to filter message getting out there, google, facebook, amazon others. The biggest obstacle, i like these stocks. They have had unbelievable run. The biggest obstacle is meddling from washington, d. C. I shouldnt say meddling but regulatory pressures from washington, d. C. Melissa no, jonathan, does it make you nervous as an investor owe potential investor, that the rooted in truth with problems that they are having. Not made up that they need regulators. Their fake ads are going out, ads from the russians going out meant to influence the election. They have a real problem. Well, tangling with regulators, melissa can destroy a companys stock. Microsofts stock didnt recover from the antitrust lawsuit from the late 1990s, i believe over a decade. I agree with steve, there is a number of risks to facebook right now despite the fact the stock is up afterhours. The lack to innovate. They continue to do that the other Growth Stocks just go out of fashion. The third, just as you said, potential for political interference which would terribly impact them, not only facebook but the First Amendment and all media stocks. Melissa go to ashley real quick because he has more color on the numbers. Yeah. Nice beat on top and bottom. Add revenue, so critical, 10. 14 billion. Much better than anticipated. Of the 10. 14 billion, 88 came on mobile ad revenues. That is really impressive number. The question for facebook though, at what point do they reach full saturation in the u. S. And europe . If they expand into asia, at one point does advertising is irritating to the user. Clearly the advertising which is so critical what this model is based on is very impressive. Over 10 billion this quarter is in ad revenue. Melissa appreciate your time. Thank you. David what is amazing about money russia spent on facebook ads. It only amounted to couple hundred thousand. Look how many people they were able to reach with little amount of money. Melissa that is a great point. David amazing how you can use that system. President trump taking action on immigration, demanding a lot tougher vetting procedures following terror attack, that left at least eight people dead. His orders, the department of Homeland Security. Next former governor Mike Huckabee respondinging to e president s call to act smarter and less politically correct. Melissa plus inside the mind of a jihadist. New details emerging on background of new york city terror suspect. Coming up rubin sheakh, a former radical turned undercover operative. How we can prevent it from happening again. David this guy is fascinating. If you havent seen him before, stick around. Republicans revealing their plan to overhaul the nations tax code. Is it biggest tax cut in American History or too watered down . Later in the hour, former budget director David Stockman is here to sound off. [lance] monica, it is absolute chaos out here gale force winds, accumulations up to 8 inches. Dont know if you can hear me, but [monica] whats he doing . President trump calling for tougher vetting policies in the wake of the terror attack in Lower Manhattan. The commanderinchief demanding that congress terminate the diversity immigration lottery which the is suspect used to enter the United States. Fox businesss blake burman at the white house with the latest. Blake . Reporter President Trump made comments at the white house meeting with his full cabinet, saying he wants congress to move the ball forward to end this Diversity Lottery Program that allowed the terrorism suspect entry into the country in 2010. Instead the president said, that he wants to see immigration be meritbased. Here is President Trump earlier today. What we are demanding is meritbased immigration. We want people that are going to help our country. We want people that are going to keep our country safe. We dont want lotteries where the wrong people are in the lotteries. Guess what, are who the suckers that get those people . Reporter in the immediate hours of this attack the president tried to highlight is highlighted extreme vetting program. I highlighted Homeland Security to step up our extreme vetting program. Being politically correct is fine but not for this. At the White House Briefing i asked a press secretary Sarah Huckabee sanders, what if anything was stepped up between last night when he society the tweet and as of today. Here was her response . Taken a call to action. He has spoken several times with the National Security team and look and see what specific things can be done. We have put in place executive orders already, since the president s taken office that help go as far as we can. Reporter sanders also said that the white house would consider this terrorism suspect to be an enemy combatant, which would elevate his legal status into entirely different category. The president said today, that he would consider potentially sending person over to guantanamo bay. Sanders clarified that at the press briefing, saying that the president would support that. That is not necessarily advocating for that. David, melissa, the president tweeted out within the last two minutes or so here, i believe that he has spoken to the governor of new york and new york city mayor as well. Back to you. Melissa blake, thank you. David here to react to the president s push for tougher vetting, fox news contributor, former arkansas governor Mike Huckabee. Mike, we have confirmed, in fact that the terror suspect did come in under this Diversity Visa Program back in 2010. The president s office including your daughter, we just heard by the way, Sarah Huckabee sanders, did say they will institute more extreme vetting which was not used in the diversity program. Do you think the president wins this debate, with the president criticize him on this . Well i think he does. There has to be a debate. There shouldnt be. The democrat should be joining with the president , not about politics of left and right. This is about protecting americans. I think it is unfortunate, that it even has to engage in something that is partisan. Nobody has a right to just say, i want to be in america, i want to show up and come in. That is not a right. Its a privilege. And people should show that, when they come here, they will be responsible, and, this is a president who has pushed for extreme vetting, he pushed for greater levels of scrutiny when people are coming here, to protect all of us, not protect republicans. David right. He has been fought by the courts. By liberal judges and by democrats in congress. I just think it is unfortunate thing to continually see the terrorist attacks. David governor, hold on for just a moment. We have earnings came out on tesla. Were back to governor huckabee. Go to Nicole Petallides with numbers. Were watching tesla getting hit hard after the bell, after earnings miss. A loss of 292. Estimate was for 2. 27. Earnings per share was a miss. The revenue beat afterhours, you can see it down 11 bucks right now. Down 3. 3 . Model 3 production is steadily increasing. That is where they saw production hell. They tried to put out 1500 but only put out 260. Theyre on pace for 100,000 deliveries of the s and the x but there will be 10 fewer in the fourth quarter. They believe we are wellcapitalized revised ramp up to 5000 per week. Capitalization has been a big one. The stock is down 3 . Back to you guys. David nicole, thank you very much. Back to governor huckabee. Go beyond immigration, because the president made important point because of political correctness. Lets take a clip from that. We have to get much tougher. We have to get much smarter. We have to get much less politically correct. Were so politically correct that were afraid to do anything. And that is not only our country. That is other countries too. David and we should mention, governor, that the one of the mosques that this suspect attended, it is called the omar mosque, in patterson, new jersey, was being surveiled by new York City Police up until 2014 which point a number of lawsuits stopped being able to surveil that particular mosque. Who knows, if they had continued with their surveillance, would have seen something alerting them to this suspect. Doesnt that change, in the president s favor, the whole idea of the way that we survey those people who are here now, who may cause trouble . Well, david, it should. I mean were always told, if you see something, say something. And then, the post script of that, see something, say something, oh, youre a bigot. How are we not seeing dichotomy, see something, say something, were told were bigots or islamophobes because we do see something and say something. It is not all about every muslim for heavens sakes. I saw interview with a person who goes to the very mosque. He was saying about this guy, he was a animal. It was horrible. Nobody is saying that every muslim in america embrace this is sort of thing, but, if people were saying, Martin Luther before they made terrorist attacks and kept doing it, i think we would start monitoring lutheran churches, dont you think . David there were cases in San Bernardino people were afraid to report of guns moved in and out of house on terrorists there, because they didnt want to be called islamaphobes. And that is the point. We cant have it both ways. If you want us to report things, then dont make us to be bigots and some kind of a racist if we do. Number one, this is a president , who takes the role of protecting americans seriously. And i think, even a lot of people who didnt vote for him, stand up and applaud, that he puts americans security first. Thank god for that. Quickly, the president tweeted out he will cooperate with mayor de blasio and Governor Cuomo, both who are supporters of sanctuary cities in the past who cover a lot of bad actors in our system. There is the president s tweet. How does he cooperate with people that have different view to protect our citizens . Well, i think he is willing to cooperate with them, i think big question, are they willing to cooperate with this president , who does in fact want to put stringent measures in place. Lets hope they do. David governor Mike Huckabee, thank you very much. Melissa. Melissa breaking developments in the terror attack in new york city. We will keep bringing you live updates throughout the hour. David also republicans set to release their tax plan tomorrow. So what is in it . What is out . And how is it all going to impact our paychecks . Next republican congressman, jason lewis is here to respond. Sometime tomorrow well be announcing massive tax cuts and reform. Not just tax cuts. It is tax cuts which to me is the most important. But it will be tax cuts and reform. Ing the office so for once ive got plenty of time. Whats going on . So those financial regulations being talked about . They could affect your accounts, so lets get together and talk, and make sure everythings clear. Thanks. Yeah. That would be great. Weve grown to over 900 billion in assets under care. By being proactive, not reactive. Its how edward jones makes sense of investing. Did yon the National Debt . Ssman get elected by talking tough will they stay true to their words . Or did they promise you one thing. Only to do another . Right now, congress is talking about tax cuts that will add trillions to our National Debt and hurt our economy. Its time to tell congress. Dont borrow more money from china. And leave more debt to our kids. Keep your word. Tax cuts shouldnt add to the National Debt. I enjoy the fresher things in life. O. Fresh towels. Fresh soaps. Here is congressman jason lewis, republican congressman from minnesota and House Budget Committee member. What are the final details, that are still up for grabs. I think theyre talking about probably 401 k issue. Talking about state and local deductions. There is unanimity on compressing brackets, go from seven to three or four. If we drop the passthrough rate 40 . Lower the c corp. Rate. Melissa Governor Cuomo, said, three or four brackets, how this might break out in his area and some others. Listen to this. Exact opposite what they promised. They put us in new york, look at structural disadvantage. I thought the Republican Party was all about lower taxes. You now have Republican Party that says, were going to tax the taxes you pay. It is double taxation. It is this country it always about tax reduction. Melissa talking about states being more fiscalally responsible. As a political issue, if republicans do end up raising taxes on people, that is heresy. That is not what you guys are supposed to be about. Doubling the standard deduction, dwarfs the state and local taxes for the vast majority of taxes. Were going from 12,000, to 24,000 in standard deduction. Still raising taxes on a bunch of people. You will hear from them. How can you raise taxes on anybody, on anybody . No, it will not raise taxes. It will. No it is not. The average deduction is under 12,000 deduction for my state in minnesota. Not in new york. Let me finish. We double the standard deduction, 12,000. That is more than they would take by deducting state and local taxes in high state like minnesota. Getting lectured about raising taxes from Governor Cuomo is too much for any human to take. Melissa we all know, trust me, i hear you. But there are ton of people in manhattan who will see their taxes go up. Im not asking anyone to cry for them. When you raise anyones taxes to me it feels like when george bush said, read my lips, no new taxes, all of sudden youre raising taxes on people. Not very Republican People to do. Im glad democrats are looking out for wealthy. Those are people take state and local tax deduction. That is true. Cuomo and democrats want carveout for the wealthy that is fine. They shouldnt hold hostage, middle class rate reductions because of it. We were lower rates on everybody, than keep a reduction benefit for. Melissa not lowering everybody on 39. 6 or 39. 5. Im not asking anyone to cry for rich people. You guys are the ones that say you have to lower it on everybody . Everybody across the board. Top rate is not 39. 6, if when you include out phaseouts it is 43 and 44. The reason talk of 39. 6 because we cant get rid of deductions you and cuomo are talking about. If you get rid of deductions that is trillion dollars revenue you wouldnt have to have another rate. Where you get that . Where will you find revenue under reconciliation rules. Melissa talk about the reconciliation rules, you guys are all hamstrung by the rules that you have created. You are the ones that write the rules. You cant do this and that because of. As long as they do you cant get anything done with 60 votes. Tough do it with 50. That is reconciliation. Melissa that i dont think was answer to my question, congressman. We appreciate your time. Thank you. Were trying to look out for the majority of the country. David reagan, across the board tax cuts. That worked in the 1980s. Breaking news on Federal Reserve board. We heard the president teasing this, Federal Reserve governor Jerome Powell apparently been notified, that he will be the president s pick. This is according to sources unnamed sources by the associated press. Were trying to confirm that here at fox business. Jerome powell, Federal Reserve governor. We heard a lot of hints about this, has been notified by the white house, he will be picked. The announcement will be made tomorrow. He will succeed janet yellen. As the new federal governor chairman. Melissa im sure he is great. I was rooting for john taylor. There you go. Breaking news. Tesla dropping afterhours, following a miss on Third Quarter earnings. The stock is down almost 10 . That is tesla, down 10 . As Company Announcing its model 3 production is increasing, but apparently not fast enough for investors. The company also announcing, its bleeding about a billion dollars a quarter. Always try to use and talk about that. Were increasing production and cover all the rest of it. David it was down more. It recovered a little bit. It is not down as much, down 3. 75 . Melissa we apologize. We got it straight. David hunt for answers. Authorities dig into terror suspects pass as new information surfaces by the minute. I know what we know about the nyc attacker coming up. Melissa heading into the holiday season. How do we prevent future terror attacks from happening on u. S. Soil . Mubin shaikh, a former radical jihadist, bill gavin, former fbi assistant director are both coming up. Melissa were learning more about a man allegedly drove a truck down a crowded new york city bike lane. Here is bill gavin, former fbi assistant director. What jumps out at you in particular here . Melissa, what really jumps out to me the fact that this individual was absolutely a brutal, murderer, and how. What we have to do is have everybody constantly under alert. New yorks dna, people in new york, they see something they say something,. Theyre not afraid to do that we need to bring the whole concept to the entire United States. Secondly, we really have to get behind what is going on here. Do we, really have to be so politically correct every single day of our lives or can we push the boundary just a little, to stay within the rights of course of all the individuals that are protected by the constitution of the United States, but by the same token, make sure we get cooperation of everybody. We ought to be into churches, temples, mosques, asking the questions and getting the cooperation of everybody involved in the whole dilemma that we face in the United States today, because these things are going to happen over and over again. Melissa when you look at weapons that he particularly used here, the rental car, he rented it hour before the attack. He had a commercial Truck Drivers license. He was an uber driver. These are things he passed various background checks. He said he passed their background check. He had knives with him, one of the things that has been encouraged. A paint ball gun. These are all all things, there is nothing you go back and act look at in terms of weapons, boy, people should have noticed it was out of the ordinary. That this person would be renting a car. That is one of those things. That is not the case here. Youre absolutely right. That is the problem. He never came up on the grid. I heard that, you know, that, maybe his name was associated with, not associated but, a friend of people who were on the grid someplace. But, youre right. He didnt do anything that stood out, that made anybody recognize him as a possible terrorist. These are horrible things. To rent that, to rent that truck, have to look into those. I think new york city pd. Did a wonderful thing going to rental agencies like that. That is something is that has to spread, really does. Melissa you mentioned the idea of the mosques. This is something that makes people so nervous, but if you look at his home in patterson, new jersey, you can literally see out the window of that mosque in paterson, which had other challenges, other people connected to it, is that where we need to put our focus . We sure do. This is outrageous thing to ask somebody in any religious community, questions that concern security and safety of the United States. We look at that with, this is horrible violation of rights. Of course it isnt. This is a way we protect our people. Walking into grocery store, is anybody doing this. As you walk into the country, anybody buying inordinate amount of oil and fertilizer to make a bomb . Why cant we ask those questions of anybody . Have you observed anybody . Melissa yeah. Much to the benefit of people come forward and bring kind of people to you. It benefits everybody. And it is not looking down your nose at somebody of a different faith, a different religion, it is not that at all. Melissa bill gavin, thank you for your insight today. We appreciate it. My pleasure. David you know when the ira, terrorist ira group from ireland doing their deeds back in the 80s . We used to survey catholic churches which they would meet. It has been done before, to great effectiveness. By this time tomorrow, we should have details on the gops tax reform plan. But has it all been so diluted that it wont be effective . Our next guest was a pivotal member of the Reagan Administration at a time when it cut taxes massively. David stockman, joining us after the break. We will be starting our Cabinet Meeting today. It will be a discussion that will focus on vital issues of tax cuts, and tax reform. It will be at largest tax cuts in the history of our country by far. David President Trump today repeating his pledge to produce the biggest tax cuts we have ever seen in this country, presumably, that would include the tax cuts during the reagan years. Man instrumental in that administration, is president reagans former director of management and budget, David Stockman joins us. Thanks for coming, david. For those who have forgotten. Put up the top rates in 1981, when president reagan came into power, the top marginal rate for income tax is 70 . That went down to 50 in 83. Went down to 28 in 1986. Now in my mind, that was the biggest tax rate cut in American History. Do you really think that President Trump can stand by his promise . Well he means well but he is full of baloney like there is no tomorrow. When the reagan tax cut in 1981 was fully effective by david 80 three 83 when it kick the in. It was full impact of 6 to gdp. That would be 1. 5 trillion a year in todays economy. What the republican resolution calls for, the plan tomorrow, a 150 billion a year, half a percent of gdp the reagan tax cut was 12 times bigger than what they were talking about. David the whole simplification aspect, president and secretary mnuchin said there would be tax reform you brought down only two tax brackets, 16 and 28 . Now appears we have fourth tax bracket at current high top right of 39. 6 . Well the key point this is not 1981 anymore. Were not in kansas. We dont have 70 top rate. In fact, over the last 30 years income morphed into rich mans levy. The republicans cover the facts. There are 150 million taxfilers. The bottom 122 million, that is 83 , pay less than 12 of total revenue collected. Theyre average rate is 5 . It is not killing anybody. Top 6 million taxfilers, pay 60 of the revenue. So youre going to try to do income tax, you cut taxes for the very top, and cant do it politically. David i would argue with you for a minute. Folks at very top, the warren buffetts, et cetera, they always find ways of getting around taxes. You know buffett does that through the way he collects money from all of his Stock Holdings and et cetera. It is folks who are in the toppish bracket forced to pay the 40 . And theyre not getting a cut at all. Let me just ask you, quickly, we just got word, that the federal governor, Federal Reserve governor Jerome Powell is probably going to be nominated as next chairman of the Federal Reserve. Is that going to be any different from the way janet yellen run the institution . Its a horrible choice. He is janet yellen with a tie. He is a crony capitalist keynesian who thinks you should run the economy from the 12 people sitting on federal open market committee. We have to get off this, 1 or 0 interest rate. You got to let capitalism work. Let the market, free market set the interest rate. Get fed out of the way. This economy is 100 months into an expansion. We dont need the crutches of the fed sitting an interest rates, like they are. Or a four 1 2 trillion balance sheet. He will do the same. It is an awful choice. It proves the election didnt make any difference. Donald trump, when it comes to Monetary Policy which is at the heart of the problem today, which is, basically killing our economy. David right. Destroying savers, destroying businesses. It is just as bad as david i guess you approve the pick of Jerome Powell . Right. David David Stockman, never hard to figure out what he feels about things. Melissa. Melissa breaking earnings. Facebook up after the hours on Third Quarter earnings and revenue. They push into video advertising despite quarter being dominated by reports that russia allegedly used social network to meddle in the 2016 election. David meanwhile getting to into the mind of a radical jihadist. When and how did the new york city terrorist radicalize. Mubin shaikh, who was radicalized himself once, explains after the break. Melissa new york city terror suspect appearing in court where Authorities Say he was radicalized in u. S. And plotted his attack for weeks. How do we prevent people from radicalizing in the first place . We have mubin shaikh, former radical jihadist and former counterterrorist operative. What jumps out, especially as we learned he attending mosque next to his house in patterson new jersey . I will look first for what kind of environment was he brought up in . He was from uzbekistan. There is an islamist, jihadist scene there. There is the Islamic Movement of uzbekistan. I would want to see what kind of environment did he go up in . Was he indoctrinateed in childhood . Was there drama in his life . What laid foundation for later actions. He gets to the u. S. , moving around all the time.
