Here are select quotes from the different region which sum up what is happening nationally. Atlanta, tightness in the labor market continued with few reports of wage pressures. In minneapolis, regarding jobs, despite employer demand, job growth suffered from lack of available workers. In the dallas region, regarding the hurricanes, the impact from hurricane harvey, varied by location and industry. Most contacts do not expect significant, longterm disruption. One last thing to share with you, trish. I know how much you like discussions of the border adjustment tax, in cleveland, this quote. An apparel retailer beliefs removal of the border adjustment tax reapproval from the tax debate, eliminated element of uncertainty and risk to the retail industry. To sum up the beige book, tight labor market but only modest wage growth. An issue that perplexed the fed for several months. Trish adam, thank you. Reminding everyone, were awaiting on Roger Goodell, expected any minute to announce a decision whether or not they will allow players to take a knee ahead of the games. This story captivated country. Received the tanks of course of the president of the United States, who actually really, started getting everyone talking about it originally. Talk about the beige book. Adam johnson, bullseye brief publisher and founder, along with david nelson. Nicole petallides down on floor of new york stock exchange. Adam, starting with you, this is problem all along, right . No wage growth. How is it that unemployment is this low but were not seeing enough of an uptick in wages . Good news, trish, we finally started to see the uptick on most recent jobs report, that came out two weeks ago. That really didnt find its way into the beige book which is interesting. 2. 9 average Hourly Earnings gains yearoveryear. The highest weve seen since 09. Were actually starting to turn the corner. Trish you dont necessarily buy the beige book data . I do buy it but we have more updated data since they wrote that beige book. Trish david, are you confidence were con going to continue that trajectory . To adams point, wages are improving a little bit. Hang on. Roger goodell is about to speak. This is the moment everyone is waiting for. Were wondering whether or not or not he is going to allow players to take a knee or not. Is he coming to the podium there . Moye producer, lets see if we can look at the shot. Yes he is about to come out. A lot of pressure on him. Well see whether they start to get stricter with the players. Can you fix audio on that . Job to raise the bar. They have set a new standard for the draft, created a new experience for our fans that we think will be extraordinary, and we are confident that dallas will raise that bar even further. So im happy to introduce Charlotte Jones anderson, who will give her view of what to expect in dallas. Again the ownership was very supportive and were all very excited to be going to dallas next april, for the draft. Charlotte. Thank you, roger. On behalf of the dallas cowboys, the city of dallas, the city of arlington and the city of frisco, were excited that the nfl gave us opportunity to host the draft in april of next year and we have had some great Civic Leaders in dallas and across from arlington trish theyre talking about the draft in dallas for next year. So, were going to stay on this News Conference because we are anticipating much more than where the draft will be held. Were anticipating roger good dell will actually say saying about players taking the knee or not taking the knee during the National Anthem. That is the big question here. You have seen, adam johnson, viewers react. You told me yourself, youre a huge football fan, once you see them taking the knee so to speak, you turn the game off, you dont want to watch and i think your reaction is very similar to Many Americans reaction. Trish, i just keep trying to watch nfl games, i cant do it. Im so disgusted by the whole thing. I turned into college fan and rooting for alabama, sec teams in general. There is honor down there, tradition, that is sorely lacking in the nfl they havent figured it out in the nfl. I dont know why Roger Goodell waited so long to address the issue trish. Where is his true north, pride in country . The players out there are performing a job. You dont bring issues like this into your work place. It is work place issue for players. It is entertainment issue for us and offensive to americans like you and me, trish. Trish i wonder if he is motivated by fear . He may Say Something on this right now. Lets listen in. On going right now. We reviewed six weeks played to date, margin of victory, we talked about penalties per game and game presentation and changes we made, how that worked. Talked about focus on officiating. Very positive fan, excuse me, very positive feedback on the game. We also spent a great deal of time talking about our partnerships. We extended a partnership, expanded a partnership with ticketmaster that we think will be very fanfriendly. We think will give our fans better opportunity to buy tickets on a secure basis, give that to them on greater platforms which we think will be very positive. As always we add a report on health and safety and our initiatives there and impact that is having on our game. Lastly we had a special visitor today. We had the commissioner of the nypd jimmy oneill and his chief of mystery monahan. I specifically with them chief of police, terry monahan. To how we continue to expand relationships between our clubs, our players, our communities, and the nfl. And he was very helpful giving us insight into what their initiatives are here with the nypd. The initiatives going on in other parts of the country of which i saw firsthand down in miami as an example last week, we saw in philadelphia recently. The relationship between players and our communities and our Law Enforcement is very important to us. So that was very helpful. And yesterday as you know i made a brief comment about, came down to see you, im sure there will be more questions about our meeting with the players and owners yesterday. We also spent a great deal of time with our owners alone today, discussing our efforts with our players. I would tell you that there is a great deal of support for the efforts that our players have identified. Not only support, but recognition, these are important issues for our communities. They are american issues and certain things we really want to as clubs and as a league want to not only support but also be a part of, try to help lead with our players. I think those are the key issues. I would tell you though just on one other issue we spent a great deal of time talking about this morning was how much we believe, everyone, should stand for the National Anthem. That is an important part of our policy. It is also an important part of our game, that we all take great pride in, and it is also important for us to honor our flag and to our country and we think our fans expect us to do that. And so that is something we continue to focus on this morning but really talking a lot about the opportunities that exist with our players to try to go really make a difference in our communities in a positive way. So i will let you take questions reporter according to your statement yesterday, the president this morning both you and the league have disrespected he is wrong about that and if so why . As i just said we respect our country, respect our flag, respect our National Anthem. I think you look at our clubs and what they do on a daily basis. I think look at our players and what they do and how they participate in that. We all feel very strongly about our country and our pride. Well continue to do that. Reporter [inaudible] listen, i understand, were not, were focusing on what we can do and what we should be doing as an nfl i think we have a great opportunity here with our players to really Work Together and to try to help and make differences in our community. Things that we all believe are necessary to do and that is what well continue to do. Reporter commissioner, game operations manuel players should be on the field at National Anthem, stand at attention, with helmets in their hand, it is not rule but policy, why not make it a rule. Fans seem to want it and [inaudible] why not make it a rule . I think one of the things we need to keep focus on, again we believe that our players should stand for the National Anthem. That is an important part of our game and our moment and we believe in that. I think we also have to keep focus on this, we have about six or seven players that are involved with this protest at this point, and this is something that, what we try to do is deal with the underlying issue, and understand what it is that they are protesting, try to address that matter. Let me finish, if you can. So the important thing for us to be able to do that and take that opportunity to make real differences in our community, and that is really what is going to ultimately be important aspect for us long term. Because this is a longterm issue. We need to make sure we do that in the right wayport port would you agree the image itself would . I understand the way our fans feel about issue, about importance the flag, about importance of patriotism. I believe our players feel that way. They will state to you, state to everyone publicly, theyre not doing this in any way to be disrespectful to the flag but they understand how it is interpreted. Were trying to deal with underlying issues. Reporter thank you, roger. Jim trotter, espn. I dont know where you are. Reporter middle right here. You said you want the players to stand. There is no change to the game operations manuel. What happens if a owner still feels that he can discipline a player for taking a knee, what response will we see from the league if that were to happen . Jim, we just had two days of conversations with our owners of which, this was a fair amount of the conversation. And i think, i think our clubs all see this the same way. We want our players to stand. Well continue to encourage them to stand. Well continue to work on these issues in the community. Well address issues, i cant deal with hypotheticals right now. Well deal with those issues if they come up. For us right now, that is our focus. Reporter roger, over here. At this point what have your sponsors and Networks Said to you about this issue and what do you feel the effect is on your business right now of this mark, we had a report on that. We know how possible lar for the licensees. We all share that. We are in great contact with them. We understand issues. We want to make sure they understand what were doing. In fact if we want them to help us, they can help us in those issues. This is part of the effort understanding one another and make sure we do the right thing in our communities and right thing to support our players but also do the right thing we make sure we get back to football and in the meantime people understand how important our country is and how important it is to make sure were doing things the right way to honor our country. Roger, roger byron barnett, kgh in boston. What is your reaction to the lawsuit filed against the nfl and the Aaron Hernandez family and that the nfl doesnt inform players about the risks of cte . That is matter of litigation. That will work its way through the litigation. I think there has been a great deal of focus on this issue of brain trauma. Weve been through a great deal of litigation on this issue and settle ad major case on concussions. Well let the lawyers deal with that. Reporter roger. Im sorry i cant see you. Reporter nbc news. When you talk about supporting your players, what form or forms will that take . Because some people reasonably presume if this league were truly on their side supporting them in these causes and concerns they would not take a knee. So how is this going to manifest itself Going Forward . Are you willing to put the she had on the line to get into sticky political and social debates . Were not afraid of tough conversations. That is what were having with our players. That is what we had yesterday, to make sure we understand one another and understand where theyre coming from, and i think out of those discussions they understand that the owners. That owners and nfl can make communities better. That is what dialogue is all about and listening, understanding. So we can get that understanding between different parties . And that is what is complex about this . But that is why it is also important to do. I think that is where real change really happens. That is the opportunity for us in our communities. Reporter [inaudible]. Weve had discussions with them for over a year. I think we have a very good understanding of the types of things that theyre interested in, how they can get support from the nfl to do that. We want to do that. And that is, could be in the legislative matters. That could be in the community with, can we participate in, ride alongs and try to make sure we understand what is going on in different communities across the nation because the problems in one market are different than the problems in another market and so that involves the clubs and players getting together, making sure we truly understand what is going on in those markets, and that is where we see real impact. Reporter roger, Connell Mcshane with the fox business network. I do want to ask you a businessrelated question to the league. One of the things weve seen in polling this week, gallup had numbers, to show popularity of pro football started to come down but there is big political divide. Where republicans identifying as pro football plans down 15 . Democrats, only 3 . Does it directly speak to the anthem protest but what is your reaction to those numbers and what if any steps can be taken to reverse the trend . We believe in doing the right thing ultimately what you have to do and i think listening to our players, trying to understand players, addressing underlying issues, making communities better is realp student is. That longterm will benefit us. Reporter what about the split between the parties . What were trying to do is stay out of politics. Were not looking to get into politics. Were looking to get people focused on football. Reporter commission, you were talking about. Just a second. Reporter as you said you have been in discussions now over a year. More discussions over the past day 1 2 or so. Realistically can you tell us and tell the American People how close are you today to resolving this . Well, i think the fact is that we have about half a dozen players that are protesting. We hope and were going to work to put that at zero. That is what we like to do. We want to make sure were understanding what the players are talking about, and that is complex. Weve taken the time, i personally have taken the time to go on those ridealongs and figure out what things in our Community Players are expressing. Our clubs have much better understanding of that from meetings over the the last several weeks to hear from the players and dot tough work, try it understand what we need to accomplish together. That is what i think is really the opportunity and what is really happening. Yes, judy. Reporter [inaudible] i cant hear you, judy, im sorry. Reporter roger, did you come out of meetings with the owners with understanding that teams would discipline their own players for not standing, will not discipline them . No, we didnt discuss that. It wasnt necessary. We had a real focus making sure that all of our teams understood the kind of dialogue that took place, the kind of things they were interested in getting support from. And there was complete support for the nfl, each club supporting their players. And continuing the dialogue that they have had on the club level. I would tell you that there is unprecedented conversations and dialogue going on between our players, between our owners, between our club officials, between the league and that is a really positive change for us. And, we think ultimately it is going to pay dividend. Reporter you talked about having productive meetings with the players. Can you explain the protest and your understanding of that . Theyre incredibly knowledgeable, articulate, and they spent time to go into communities to talk about that. They are truly criminal justice reform, mail reform, talking about sentencing, talking about making communities together, that they have bipartisan support for across our nation and that need focus. Theyre talking about what we can do to support them to effectuate that legislative change. And that is again very, very positive. Theyre talking about the quality issues. Making sure that were doing everything we possibly can to give people an opportunity. Whether it is education or economic. What which can do to try to effect wait that. We believe with players we can help them and support them. Those are our issues, national issues, american issues. That are all important to deal with. Last question. Reporter roger, twopart question. Number one have two questions . Reporter do you mind . Have you at all communicated with President Trump . Do you have any plans to communicate with President Trump . Second question is football question, pace of play, how happy are you seems like the games are going quicker this year . Yeah i have not, to your first question. To the second question were very pleased with the pace of game changes. We have seen in particular, double ups, bother me so much on commercial format. Close to 90 reduction this year, it is good for the fans, good for experience of watching an nfl game, whether youre in the stadium or on television or on another platform. We said all along, this wasnt about reducing the length of games. It was the pace of the game. So the 40 second clock, as an example of a point after touchdown and after the touchdowns have had real impact, centralizing replay and bringing the surface tablet to the sidelines so the official can do it. All of that sped up what we considered down time, time that is not, we dont believe is attractive to our fans. Were happy with it. Long ways to go. Were looking to keep doing that what is good for the experience. Trish wow, that was kind of a nothing move from Roger Goodell, everyone. He had the opportunity to say the nfl would stand by the country and insis that players respect the anthem, and not take a kneel, and instead as adam johnson here on set watching says he punted, he punted. He punted. Trish in other words he just decided, why bother addressing this issue. Instead he found himself talking about things about how the nfl needs to understand what the players are talking about. Why they are upset. Why they feel this way. Is this sensitivity training, adam johnson . Sounds likes sensitivity training, trish. What is going on he completely lost control of the ball. That is what happens with teams fourth and long and he punted t it is a disgrace. Roger goodell, to not know leadership, not recognize what is happening in this country saying instead we have dialogue, by the way we would like for players to stand, it is our policy that they stand but it is not a rule, what happened to rules . There are rules when you go on the field, roger. Why are there not rules when youre off . Trish in any work place, david nelson . A Google Engineer got fired because he said offensive things in a email why he didnt believe more women were working out there as engineers. Youre not allowed, free speech, you can say that, in the company of your own friend, in front of your own family and free speech in the world, but when you go to work for someone and youre not representing what the firm, or in this case the nfl is trying to represent here, might have more of a problem . Theres a few issues here. Adam is right, they punted the ball. The meeting between Roger Goodell, the nfl, the players and owners, that didnt go well. There were no decisions made. Look, players have every right to protest if they want. The owners have every right to fire them if they want. I as a consumer and a fan have every right to turn off the tv set if i want. We can all do that. Many like adam trish because that was asked, specifically, by one reporter, what were the team owners saying . It seems to me that some of those team owners are scared. Which, look, there is a whole College League out there. Maybe we need to freshen up the ranks of the nfl players. If you had to give edge here, players, they had something to say. It looks like they came out on top. Well see how this plays out in the fan base as well. This is, in the end going to come down to money. You will see ratings go down. They have started to go down. For a lot of us, like myself, im kind of footballed out anyway. Been there, done that. I now get back a good eight hours every sunday of productive time. I probably watched football, 10,000 to 20,000 hours over the last 30 years. So maybe it is time for a change. If they want to go this route, fans will respond. Theyre doing that right now. Trish indeed they are. But again, you think about the importance of leadership in situations like this and i would say i have had issue with Roger Goodell for some time. Goes back to the Domestic Violence allegations. He punted that one too, trish. Trish that horrendous video of ray rice, what he did to his wife in the elevator. You know what . Youre right. He did. He punted on that too. He punted on concussions. At some point you have to stand for something, adam. Roger goodell is a punter. That is the game that he plays. I dont like what i heard today, it disappointed me. You notice he went through a whole litany of issues and we talked about this and talked about that and at the very end, oh, there is one other issue we talked about today, our players needs and what theyre trying to express. Think about it, trish, if you are working in a store, youre not allowed to wear a political pin. If you are a Flight Attendant youre not allowed to wear a political pin. If youre a teller at bank youre these are business in the same way these players are representing the businesses for which they work. Lay down some rules. Trish lay down some rules. By the way, maybe stick together. One team owner could call another team owner saying well not put up with this. Why are they so afraid to do that . Because it is like a powderkeg, you dont know where it will go. You dont know how angry the players will get. They might not want to play. What will you do to field your team. It is like walking on eggshells. You have to create rules and set up standards which we operate. By the way, it me, not standing for the anthem is just as bad as turning your face on the cross. You dont do that. Trish trying to stay out of politics. Goes against the way were wired and way were brought up. Trish he is getting into politics here with all this. Seems to me economics will rule this to david nelsons point. It always does. Trish it always does. You will see ratings declined. We get back hours we spent watching football. There is a lot of other things you can do with the hours. Maybe team owners will start to Pay Attention to it all. Anyway, i bet you anything, guys, well get some reaction to this from the white house. You know the president has really made this his cause. He is very upset at the nfl and Sarah Huckabee sanders is about to speak. So lets hear what she has to say about all of it on the other side of this quick break. Before investing, consider the Funds Investment objectives, risks, charges, and expenses. Read the prospectus carefully at alpsfunds. Com amlp today, smart planning is helping the new new york rise higher than ever. As the world leader in unmanned aerial systems, were attracting the worlds best talent to central new york. To grow your business with us in new york state, visit esd. Ny. Gov. Bipartisan, Lamar Alexander is working hard from our side, if something happens from our side, i wont do anything to enrich the Insurance Companies. They have been enriched by obamacare like nothing anybody has seen before. I will not do anything to enrich the Insurance Companies. Isnt that the entire problem . How can you have market based system, when you have the government essentially handing out checks to the Insurance Companies, effectively subsidizing them. You know what happens when you subsidize, prices go up, for anyone else not subsidizing. We go over and over again. Hourglass economy, middle class is getting squeezed. They dont qualify for all those subsidies. For the rich, theyre benefiting from asset economy and think benefit from the stocks prices at least in the insurance sector moving higher. Cigna up 400 since obama care. Up nearly 670 . This is unbelievable stuff. Adam johnson, david nelson, back with me. Former advisor to president george w. Bush, Brad Blakeman. There seems to be some bipartisan effort going on, brad, to save the debacle that is obamacare. But i dont know is the savior is going to really work either. To the president s point if youre out there cutting checks for the Insurance Companies, only one group youre helping, that is the Insurance Companies. No doubt about it. The Insurance Companies, big six, First Quarter of this year made over 4 billion in profit. A lot of that is because of the backstop of the underwriting of american taxpayer. It has to stop. I live in virginia. United healthcare pulled out of virginia. Im down to two choices. I cant wait to get my letter next couple weeks, now i have two choices and my health care will go up, premium and deductible. Look, this is putting a bandaid on an open heart patient. This is not the remedy. What donald trump, i hope is going to do, use this leverage of defunding Insurance Companies, forgetting real reforms that are needed. Trish do you think he will be able to use that leverage, adam . You know, Insurance Companies, they have had it good, shall we say . Yeah, they have had it very good. They have had it too good. I mean i pay 500 a month, all right, as Single Person living in new york city. The average American Family pays 2,000 a month. The average American Family earns 55,000 a year. 24,000 a year in Health Care Costs whether youre making 55 . That is 50 of your income. That is craziest thing i ever heard. That system is broken. Trish theyre getting taxes taken out of that as well. That is crazy. Trish it is not sustainable. No opportunity for anybody in the middle class to get out from under, to achieve more financially when they have got this burden of heavy, heavy Health Care Costs. But trish, repeal and replace is definitely the way to go. This is really a bridge to that. Because, with repeal and replace, you have to get both sides of the equation right. You cant just have repeal and no replace. Unfortunately on legislative front we have a goose egg. We failed on health care twice this year. So the president is sending out a mixed message here. More like stream of consciousness. He supported senator alexander and senator patty murray with regards to this deal in the first place. But now theyre walking that back. Trish but i got to ask you this, why cant you say well not give money to inInsurance Companies to cover all the people, by the way you wind up inflating cost of everyone else on . That is great. Tough make it part of a larger package. Right now the exchangeses are going under. They will go under six months to a year, dont put something in place to get to a bridge of repeal and replace. They have to craft a better package than this, ultimately in the long run. They will have to pass full legislation. How do we get to from point a to point b before we get to point c . Trish brad, let me ask you, we heard from Roger Goodell pulling a nothing move because they need to understand the players, i think they have to be sensitive to the players, god forbid that the players not play. Does Roger Goodell the team owners not understand the leverage they have . Do you anticipate the white house will Say Something about this in briefing happening momentarily . I can imagine the president will have a lot to say and tweet about. Roger goodell should be sacked. He is not a leader. The nfl is a Players Association of team owners really. And he cant speak for the owners . He is leaving the owners out hanging . It is every man and woman for themselves . This is crazy. By Roger Goodells own admission there are only handful of players who are casting a great shadow over the entire league. It is unacceptable. By the way, if you twerk in the end zone after scoring, you get fined. For twerking you get fined. For disrespecting the flag, part of the first amendment. It is crazy. As a matter of contract they should be obligated to respect, the flag, the uniform, the city theyre playing with. And the league. Well see what the white house says about it shortly. Thank you very much. Brad. As we await for the white house, sadly reporting that the death toll is 42 due to the raging wildfires in santa rosa, california. Our Hillary Vaughn has very latest for you. That is next. Een great. Theyre affordable and fast. Maybe too affordable and fast. What if. The Financial Advisor was able to work with this client. Hes now on track to retire when hes 65. Having someone coach you through it is really the value of a Financial Advisor. Trish we want to remind you. Were waiting on Sarah Huckabee sanders. We think the white house might have reaction to the nfl. They are likely to comment on that phone call that happened with the widow of the fallen soldier. There has been obviously some dispute about that. Stay tuned for all of that. Meantime, terrible news still in california. Those wildfires are there. Although theyre seeing some improvements in being able to put them out, but 42 people now dead in california. Lets go straight to hill very vaughn, in santa rosa with the very latest. Hi, hillary . Hi, trish. It is day nine here, still over 20,000 people are displaced and unable to return to their homes. But for many of those thousands of families dont have a home to return to. We talked to the fema Division Supervisor for sonoma count where they were hit the hardest. Most of the homes that burned down, burned down here. He says they will have to get create ive with temporary housing. We have a lot of work, getting Debris Clearance underway, in support of the state and sonoma county. Certainly one of the larger events ive seen here. This is order of definitely months. So, my team will be here probably, definitely through commissions that. Were committed to being here, supporting the state, supporting the county, however long it takes to make sure we meet survivors needs. Reporter he tells me his second biggest challenge is debris remove a removal. They cant assess that until the evacuation orders are lifted. Still, 20,000, trish, remain under mandatory evacuation orders. Trish it is horrible. It is. Thank you very much, Hillary Vaughn. We are waiting on the press conference that is about to be happening there at the white house. As we wait for that, we got a lot more to tackle here with adam johnson, and david nelson still with me. You know. And Brad Blakeman here. Still here as well. Let me ask you a about story making news, guys, the fusion gps. Journalists got together, basically for hire to dig up dirt on anyone who, so commissioned it. The thinking is here, that, gps, fusion gps is the firm that is responsible for the socalled, dossier on our president. That was put out, and certainly seemed, i think to most, a bit of a piece of propaganda. The question is, who exactly hired fusion gps, and, is there going to be any real fallout from it . Brad, go to you on that first . We dont know. There is speculation as to who exactly footed the bill. Apparently there were several backers financially of this effort. But these are political assassins. Theyre paid, third party groups, outside of organized parties in order to take down politicians and it is wrong. It is wrong whether youre a democrat or a republican and really what we need to do is follow the money. Once we do that, well have better understanding who is behind it and what their motives were. Jo that is good way to put it. Assassins, political assassins. Follow the money is critical in all this. We are getting reports of someone making known of problems in venezuela. Presumably, someone in venezuela didnt like him and went after him. They ire fusion gps. This fellow is very upset, because he said fusion gps essentially tried to destroy him, calling him some of the most horrific names you could possibly call anyone. He said none of it founded on anything. Completely baseless. This is what this hit job company apparently does . Well, what is sad about this, trish, anyone can say anything and in this moment in which we live, virtually anytime. Just look at twitter. Then you put some actual resources behind it what were talking about here with fusion and it is very, it is very troubling to think how quickly you can take down someones reputation. Now ultimately yes, there are slanderous laws, laws that prevent this sort of thing but that means you have to take someone to court. Takes a long time to clear your name. Trish they can do a lot of damage in the meantime, yes . Can completely undermine somebody in the meantime. Trish up fortunately what politics is b youre trying to undermine the opponent. You dont have tremendous amount of time if youre the person undermined to fight back against the allegations. Fusion gps is subpoenaed and refusing to comply. They will not answer any of these questions, david, which i think is very questionable only were all trying to figure out what the hedouble l happened. What role did rush insurance play . Maybe the russians went to fusion gps to commission the dossier. Maybe the russians were trying to disturb everyone. We need to know that. The American Public needs to know that. I guess that is true. We have to be careful here its a slippery slope to censor information. These are bad guys, political assassins, that is probably a good description. There is a whole conversation about fake news. It may be the cost of freedom. We could do what china is doing, shut down the internet. Do what north korea does, dont let them have access to information at all. We need as society bring ourselves up to speed. Trish i hear you. Here is the problem. If you can print anything about anybody, that is fair game, theyre running for office, theyre a public figure, that is a slippery slope, david. What is the alternative . Trish what is the alternative . Yeah. Trish hold the organizations responsible. Anybody that publishes information take them to court. Will we have Mark Zuckerberg deciding what i see on my Facebook Page . Trish i would like to see Mark Zuckerberg take responsibility in all of this. I would like to see facebook get sued. I would like to see facebook get sued by anybody suing them for slander or for libel. You know what . They take you think about world war ii, allies coming together to crack enigma. Corporations had a strong role in that. They played a strong role. You think about what we saw from this great nation when we went to war. You had many, many Manufacturing Companies basically shut down whatever they were doing and they went to work to fight for the u. S. We dont see that adam johnson. We have facebook allowing terrorists to meet and group together on facebook, helping essentially facilitate this enemy of the United States of america. I mean it is repugnant that you think about it. That any sort of publiclytraded media enterprise whether it is twitter or linkedin owned by microsoft, facebook, et cetera, et cetera, would actually knowingly give voice to, to an isis entity, to a terrorist entity, to anyone that is actually going to do something intending to harm other people. The fact that you would give them voice, mindboggling. Sarah Huckabee Sanders is out. Lets listen in. Hear what she has to say. Lots of stuff. A few days since ive been up here. Im sure you all missed me as much as i missed you. As many of you will recall one of President Trumps Core Campaign promises to defeat isis. With the stunning fall of mosul in june and isis nearly eradicated from raqqa, it is clear that isiss socalled caliphate is crumbling across iraq and syria. This eminent victory by the Global Coalition and brave servicemembers comes at a high cost, particularly to Syrian Democratic forces who suffered many wash calls as they sought to eliminate tear own country pro the oppression of isis. Instead of caring for the needs of the residents, isis stockpiled money for attacks across the world including against many muslims. As coalition and forces closed around them, isis used civilians as human shields and killed those who attempted to flee. Isiss barbaric attacks, barbaric acts left many scars across the region. We remain committed to supporting stable says efforts and local Security Forces through liberated areas and transition in syria. Unfortunately the Syrian Regime and supporters hindered efforts to liberate raqqa. Instead of focusing on fighting isis. The proregime forces attacked our partners and blocked them from liberating Syrian People from the brutality of isis. We know isis and its destructive ideology will remain a threat the liberation of raqqa will mark the beginning of a new phase in the syrian conflict. As we and our partners take away the ability of isis to plot and carry out attacks from territory they control, we will continue to seek deescalation of violence in other battlefields across syria. Looking ahead to tomorrow, we will welcome governor rossello of puerto rico to the white house to talk about on going recovery and rebuilding efforts. Well work hand in hand with local leaders in all areas of our country that have been impactinged by several natural disasters in recent months. As President Trump repeatedly said we stand with our fellow citizens, were here to help to get them back on their feet. With that, i will take your questions. Quiet. Jon . Reporter sara, president earlier today said he would not allow Insurance Companies to pad their pockets with money from the federal government. The white house has some concerns about the alexandermurray bill. Can you articulate what those concerns are . We said all along something that doesnt just bailout Insurance Companies but provides relief for all americans, and this bill doesnt address that fact. So we want to make sure that is taken care of. We think this is good step in the right direction. This president certainly supports republicans and democrats coming to Work Together, but it is not a full approach and we need something to go further to get on board. Reporter can you articulate specifically what the white house is concerned about . Outreach dollars and making sure some. Things that the president stated before. He wants to lower premiums. He wants to provide greater flexibility. He wants to drive competition. He likes the idea of block grants to states. Those are ideas he would like to see in a health care plan. Reporter sarah, tweet if he can. What proof does President Trump has when he says congresswoman wilson is not telling the truth . Are there recording of phone calls made to mrs. Johnson . No. Several people in the room with the administration were on the call including chief of staff john kelly. Reporter he said he called every family of someone who has died. Is that true . The president has made cant with all of the families that have been presented to him through the White House Military Office. Reporter families come forward to the associated press. The names are in these reports who say they have not heard from this white house in any capacity . All of the individuals that the president has been presented with through the proper protocol have been contacted through that process. Jeff. Reporter follow up on health care question, is it correct to say President Trump does not support this deal in its current form . Correct. I think he stated that pretty clearly. Reporter just as followup on another issue, he had conversations today with Governor Reynolds of iowa. Can you tell us a little bit what they discussed . Did he make any assurances renewable fuel standards or any of that . He didnt make assurances on that specific issue. It was discussed. They will continue to look at that process but no definitive decision was made on rfs. But it was discussed. Justin. Reporter today secretary mnuchin was talking about tax framework. Said it was very hard not to give tax cuts to the wealthy as part of the, cutting rates across the board. Seems like acknowledgement of realities, math, independent analysis of president s tax plan. Recently as month ago the president said this plan would not benefit the wealthy. That is the not focus of the tax plan. The focus as we have said time and time again, focus and priority of the framework that the white house has laid out is to benefit the middle class. Reporter you would agree with secretary mnuchin there may be some people that receive tax cuts that are also in the wealthy bracket . Yes. But the fact is the priority again, remains that middleclass americans are the ones that are most impacted and that is were the priority and focus lies. Reporter [inaudible] sarah, what is the criteria that the White House Military Office uses for presenting names of families to the president after the casualties in combat . There is a process that is standard protocol. Once a person is killed in action, the first steps, the process begins with a dod casualty assistance officer making next of kin notifications. After that, they create a package that is sent to the White House Military Office. That package is then reconfirmed, all of the details and contents of the package have to be confirmed by the White House Military Office. Once that process is completed the president or other members of the administration can engage in cant. Reporter just follow up on that, if the president has not contacted family members every Service Member been a casualty because of office, because of the protocals of my office . That is my office. If there is specific case i would have to look into it. But as a whole, generally speaking that is my understanding. Reporter follow up on this week, why did the president wait 12 days to speak publicly about the as i said i walked through that process. So the dod package that was sent to the white house arrived on thursday of last week. The White House Military Office confirmed the contents of that package on monday. And the letters had been drafted over the weekend. They were sent once that confirmation was completed and calls were scheduled on monday to be made on tuesday. Reporter why didnt he make public remarks . Reporter asking you about contact, is the president satisfied i learned everything he wanted to know about the situation himself in niger . Pentagon sources described what was interpreted to be a lowrisk mission. The ambush was a big surprise. There was no air cover. 30 minutes from french air cover to arrive. Questions about the speed of the evacuation, perhaps something to do whether or not these military personnel survived or not. Is the president satisfied everything he needs to know about this particular raid, rules of engagement . Theyre still looking into details. I dont think the president can be satisfied when there is loss of life from men and women in uniform. Reporter is there anything he wants to know more about this than he learned so far . I cant get specifics in terms, i cant get into the specifics of the details of the raid at this point. But again, i dont think you can ever use the word satisfied with the process when there is loss of life or someone in the military. Reporter tax debra . I have a las vegas question, is the administration looking at having the atf ban bump stocks . Or does the president think congress should do it . Were certainly still looking into and having a review done of that process, and when theres an official policy position, ill make that announcement. John . Reporter thank you, sarah. Two questions. When the Alexander Murray bill came off of the scrum at the rose garden monday, there were questions about whether it would contain federal funding for abortions, and these concerns have been raised by several prolife lawmakers on capitol hill. Will the president rule out signing any kind of measure that includes funding for abortion . The president stated that he would like to see a Health Care Bill that does not include funding for abortions. Will he rule out signing one that does . I believe that that is probably something that would be a priority for him, but in terms of negotiating what that Health Care Package would look like, im not going to do that from the podium today. Reporter second question im going to take one question today to get to everybody. John decker . Reporter a question about the nfl, Roger Goodell, the commissioner of the nfl earlier today said all players should stand during the playing of the National Anthem. Earlier this week, there was no change in policy as it relates to the nfl mandates that all players in the nfl stand for the National Anthem. Does the president believe hes winning this argument, or has won this argument, as it relates to what he said about whether players should stand for the playing of the National Anthem . Its certainly a step in the right direction. As weve said many times before, the president supports standing for the National Anthem, saluting the flag, and honoring those men and women in uniform that fight to protect it. Reporter sarah . Thanks. Does the president feel as a matter of principle that it is not adequate to simply send a letter of condolence to the family of a slain Service Person . As president bush and president obama typically did . And does he feel it is not adequate for president obama to have sent a letter to general kelly, but not call general kelly on the death of his son . I dont think there is anything that any president can
