How did these three people somehow meet in and around new york city to come up with the plot like this . This is truly an international endeavor and what happened is probably they knew each other from another time and that the financial side of it came from the philippines. Its a confusing case but once the undercover agent was introduced from the canadians, thats where it all came together and theres no doubt in my mind if theyre reading everything in the affidavit that it is the informant in this he rolled over and came on to the other two people involved. Charles that would be the canadian citizen . Yeah. Charles so they brought in the undercover agent was able to infiltrate this under the premise of providing funding . Under the premesis of being able to setup the to execute the deed within new york city, to put the right people together and to come up with not only the funding i think because they were looking at the funding coming from the philippines, but to put the whole thing together and being in the United States knowing where to go and knowing the subway route and approving the plans that canada had in his mind because he was attempting maps and all sorts of things to look at and thats how he was lured back into the United States by the undercover agent. Charles bill im looking at the time line may 12, 2016 a photograph is sent of Hydrogen Peroxide and that was purchased for the attack presumably thats in new york city may 20 they con seened to discuss times square as the perfect spot to hit them and they suggested that the plan would drive to surround a whole street and trap as many people as possible. This was going to be a big one and again, how long or how deep does the fbi get involved in some of these before they have to make sure they pull the plug . I think the undercover agent in this particular case was in a unique position to be able to determine when Something Like this would happen because if he received a photograph and then sent them it doesnt make a lot of sense and it was only sent 400 some odd dollars by his Financial Investment in this whole thing, but the bottom line is as soon as the undercover agent and the federal authorities think this is a go they will put an end to it. It cant go beyond the planning stage. Charles real quick before i let you go, times square a few blocks away when i leave the office today people from all over the world is still going there but how cautious can we be knowing that its a prime target . Its see something Say Something charles everybodys antenna is up throughout the United States and always even more so in the city of new york. We dont want to let the terrorists what what they are intending to get and thats total panic by everybody in the United States. Thats easier said than done. Charles bill thank you very much, we appreciate it. My pleasure. Charles switching gears today President Trump doubled down on this ominous warning while meeting with his top generals that maybe this is the calm before the storm. Here is what he said last night. President trump do you know what this represents . Its the calm before the storm. What storm is that . President trump we have great military people. Thank you all for coming. Thank you. What storm, mr. President . President trump youll find out. Give us a hint. President trump thank you, everybody. Charles President Trump also said that he expects his top military advisors to give him a broad range of military options at a much faster pace and its all raising questions on whether or not the president is listening to his generals, we now turn to retired Army Lieutenant colonel alan west former republican congressman from florida. Colonel west thanks for joining us. Good to be with you. Charles it feels as if major decisions are on the way with respect to iran and north korea. It feels like these decisions perhaps will involve pushback against Rex Tillersons , general mattis, and it also feels like we President Trump has drawn a strong rigid red line with respect to north korea. Where do you think we are right now . Colonel charles if youll have an effective Foreign Policy you have to also make sure you have a credible military deterrent and thats one of the important things we need to have on the table and i think thats some of the options that the president s looking to those military leaders from the pentagon to be able to present. Lets understand that were living in a very dangerous time. I know that we have been so concerned about what has happened in las vegas and all of my condolences to those who have lost their lives there, but we lost three u. S. Army special forces green berret this week due to an ambush from al qaeda. Thats an organization that has grown in north africa and theyre starting to extent their reach in sub saw hera africa, so i think the president needs to sit down and look at the geographic combating commands, and we need to start looking at an effective strategy that is threatbased and unfortunately move us away from this budget based military that we have so decimated. Charles by the way i think the death toll has gone to i saw in breaking news, colonel west please stay with us because i want to bring in a panel now, a former cia analyst with the center for security policy, and the spokeswoman for the rnc. Caylee let me go with you here, because a lot of what were see ing also is the Mainstream Media stocking the notion of in fighting of disruption of total disray, dismay if you will within the Trump Campaign, trump organization. This week it was tillerson versus President Trump. Yeah, the media is stoking the narrative, making false stories, we saw Rex Tillerson come out and forceful it deny this was ever said and the spokesperson after he said those comments earlier theyre creating discord, its doing dis service to the American People particularly when the times are as they are now on the Foreign Policy front. Charles when President Trump tweeted tillerson might be wasting his time with bomb boy or something to that effect, does that interfere or is it to what colonel west is alluding to and in this situation youve got to have someone coming on really really strong particularly as they try to negotiate a democratic solution . Certainly you have to have both and i think President Trump is being a real its when he says that it doesnt appear that rocket manas he calls him is really interested negotiations, particularly when hes shooting off Ballistic Missiles at the rate he is. Charles fred the anxiety though the knot is getting tighter and tighter we can feel it and we sense i think almost everyone that something is going to happen very shortly and when President Trump starts to talk about doing what he must do, people dont want to hear it but to caylees point it seems like he is being realistic. I think hes being realistic charles. I dont think a shooting war with north korea is on the horizon in the immediate future. I think that when he says something is going to happen, he probably is referring to the iran deal. I think its likely the president is going to decertify and the question everybody is wondering is he going to actually pull out of this deal which he really has to do since he called this deal an embarrassment to the United States. Charles colonel west tom cotton has been working with the white house and wrote a pretty in depth piece if you will on why the president has the right to decertify this deal and arguing that it should go back to congress the way by the way, the way it should have gone in the first place . Well youre absolutely right and when you look at the behavior of iran since this nuclear deal it has gotten en more obtuse. We know iran is colluding with north korea with the advancement of Nuclear Weapons technology and the delivery means but iran has been testing Ballistic Missiles and firing Ballistic Missiles which is a violation of the jcpoa. Iran has gone out and bought and sold conventional weapons and arms such as the s300 surface to air Missile System but you continue to see iran exporting their terrorism because you openly have the force and also their proxy army hesbolla operating in syria and we know israel just recently attacked hesbolla there so theyre not living up to the code and the honor of that iran nuclear agreement. Charles certainly the spirit is out the window a long time ago. Sarah Huckabee Sanders taking on these questions saying bottom line is President Trump he takes seriously his commitment to keep the public safe and that might meno fence ever actions were needed around the world. Look shes exactly right. He takes this very seriously particularly when he hears things like what congressman west just said all of the ways iran is violating this agreement and i can tell you President Trump im sure is looking very closely at which senator tom cotton has sent to Rex Tillerson a letter listing all those Violations Including the building of heavy water stocks by the way which are used to advance plutonium and enrich it to the point of getting a nuclear weapon. Charles thank you all very much. Coming up congress has 44 scheduled working days left to pass tax reform before the end of this year and its already hitting some selfinduced but major roadblocks well be right back. Republicans and democratic states are very worried about the elimination of state and local deductions. Speaker ryan though, hes not sure whether or not the gop will scrap those deductions, california, new york, new jersey , illinois, and texas are your top five recipients of course four major blue states here to discuss with me now jeff dewitt, a member of donald j. Trump president Advisory Board and former Trump Campaign chief operating officer, and a hill contributor. Beverly let me start with you because peter king of new york making it pretty clear that the republicans are going to have trouble trying to eliminate state and local deductions and places like new york and theyre going to really jeopardize people like him keeping office. That was not always a red seat that peter king has. Im originally from california so i understand what its like to live in a blue state and i would say as republicans are looking at this, this is the good news. The good news is they dont have a bill out yet. The good news is theyre working on compromises behind the scenes before they actually count the votes, so i would say youre going to see some movement in this that the chairman of the house ways and Means Committee kevin brady has been negotiating with republicans for a long time they already removed the border adjustment tax a few months ago which was going to create issues so i would say while this was a hurdle its bound to be expected when you have a 31 year old tax code that is really a patchwork of loopholes and deductions. Charles i think jeff another problem though is sort of the parameters that the gop boxed themselves in, revenue neutrality is one of them, and some of the other issues some of the rigidness that i think they placed upon themselves, actually making this a much harder goal to achieve because from the outside looking into quote President Trump today everybody likes a tax cut. Yes, they do and charles, you know a lot of politicians have fought for decades for the special interest that have their own deductions written into the tax code and what the president wants to do is gut it and gut all of the special interest money and what thats going to do obviously is send a lot of long time politicians scrambling and thats what youre seeing but the bottom line is this is similar to what we saw back in the 80s, 1985 when you talk about the state and local Tax Deduction Ronald Reagan himself said that its an unfair policy and if you have one state subsidizing basically the high tax policies of a different state, that that is truly as Ronald Reagan said taxation without representation. So you know i also grew up my younger days in california back when Ronald Reagan was the governor and it was a different state but we have to do whats best for the country right now and in making the tax system more fair. I look at it in two parts. There is the Tax Deduction and also the simplification and quite frankly even if my own taxes stay the same next year, but you allowed me to do it on a postcard like the saying in 30 minutes by myself thats already a win. Now if you go further and we get the tax cuts, that will spur economic growth. Charles so youre telling people you might have thought youre getting a tax cut but ill save you some time filling it out. Maybe thats it. We want both. Charles beverly here is the thing because were hearing a fourth bracket being quoted out there. You referred to the border adjustment tax that would have been hell on middle class folks going shopping and retailers, so but why have the republicans boxed themselves into this, jeff dewitt just talked about Ronald Reagan. What happened to believe in supply side economics . This is where the republicans pushback against a demo contract narrative that makes this about the rich getting their fair share. I think if the republicans really focus on what is true about this, which is lowering the Corporate Tax rate which is what President Trump has been saying all along even in his campaign is really the crux of the american heartbeat in this country when 80 of businesses are Small Businesses are higher employees than are around 50 or under thats what they need to focus is as talking about the American Worker because yeah the democrats are going to talk about these other areas but they need to focus on what actually works and thats lowering the tax rate for everyone including businesses. Charles thank you both very very much ill give you my take on what happens under reagan as welcoming up later also coming up President Trump echoes what ive been saying for a long time we are in the midst it is already begun im talking the manufacturing renaissance, next. Fortunate enough to travel to many interesting places. Ive always wanted to create those experiences for others. With my advisors help along the way, its finally my turn to be the host. When you have the right financial advisor, life can be brilliant. Ameriprise charles President Trump signing a president ial relation today declaring it National Manufacturing day. This at a ceremony the president along with more than dozens of representatives of the Manufacturing Industry stress the importance of cutting regulations and creating jobs to propel the economy. President trump we want to dramatically reduce the tax of manufactures so we can compete and win on the world stage and i will tell you the reception to what were proposing is fantastic. Were keeping our companies and the companies are coming back in and perhaps most importantly, were making our workers happy and they love to work. Charles National Association of manufactures president and ceo jay timmons along with Nathan Meyers both throughout the event gentlemen thanks for joining me. Ive got to start with you, because you had the chance to get the pin. President trump offers you the pen today and you turned it down well charles good to see you. Nathan was ready there for the handoff, so we made sure he had it. Hes got a great souvenir from todays activities. Charles i do want to ask you jay because i went through your most recent Third Quarter report and everything looks great there except one thing that bothered me when you guys break down the sides the smaller manufactures, theyre losing steam. Their optimism is starting to drop a lot from the first quarter. Is that underscoring the point that weve got to get these taxes done quicker that washington d. C. , gop leadership has to understand this optimism cant stay elevated forever . Well i think youre exactly right. Weve had threequarters of very high optimism among manufactures because they want to see the things get done that weve been talking about in washington for so long. Tax reform, regulatory reform, Infrastructure Investment and those are the things that will help propel our economy forward and create jobs and incentivize investment in this country so youre right it wont last forever but obviously it takes time to get things done and were very pleased all those things are on the docket to have congress review. Charles nathan first and foremost congratulations on the pen. Thank you. Charles did you get it framed yet . Not yet. Charles keep it on dont let anyone hold on to that. One of the things i talk about and i study this stuff so deeply and ive already told people the manufacture renaissance has begun, it has already begun. The wheels are turning and and manufactures are making investments and your company made a big investment right . That is correct, were currently under expansion. Charles nathan . Yes. Charles tell us about it how big an economic en vestment is this . Im not sure. Im not involved with the money wise but were getting some couple new pretty charles theres Big Investments being made let me ask you because as a manager the folks that work with you do you see that excitement that these reports are pointing out . I mean are people visibly saying weve got a chance now. Weve got a chance to change our lives and really do better by our families. We do. Were very optimistic its going to mean better pay, more opportunity, and more money in our pockets with more bonuses. Charles right, who wouldnt be against that. Jay, another thing that struck me in your report, when you talk about for a Small Businesses, whats the most challenging aspect of it, unfavorable Business Conditions is down to 55 . Two years ago in the same quarter it was 80 it was the number one issue so this already points to the fact that President Trump getting rid of these regulations has already made things better. How much better can it get if we do get real tax reform in there . It can get significantly better and in fact what you may have seen also in this survey, charles, was that about twothirds of manufactures say comprehensive tax reform becomes a reality these manufactures are going to invest in new plants and equipment. Almost a like number said they would also hire new workers and a vast majority said they would provide pay increases and Better Benefits for the folks that are already on the shop floor, so you can just see from that data, that the economy is going to improve substantially with comprehensive tax reform but you mentioned the regulatory as well manufactures are subject to and you and i have talked about this before, subject to 297, 696 regulations, as of the end of last year. Charles be men congratulations to both of you the manufacturing renaissance is real. The big news here its going to get a lot better see you guys soon. Charles Manufacturing Day we had 3000 events across country go to mfgday. Com. Charles you got it buddy see you later. Former First Lady Michelle Obama claims the Republican Party has a diversity problem. Well discuss it next. Today, were out here with some big news about type 2 diabetes. You have type 2 diabetes, right . Yes. So let me ask you this. How does diabetes affect your heart . It doesnt, does it . Actually, it does. Type 2 diabetes can make you twice as likely to die from a cardiovascular event, like a heart attack or stroke. And with Heart Disease, your risk is even higher. You didnt know that. No. Yeah. But, wait, theres good news for adults who have type 2 diabetes and Heart Disease. Jardiance is the only type 2 diabetes pill with a lifesaving cardiovascular benefit. Jardiance is proven to both significantly reduce the chance of dying from a cardiovascular event in adults who have type 2 diabetes and Heart Disease and lower your a1c. Jardiance can cause serious side effects including dehydration. This may cause you to feel dizzy, faint, or lightheaded, or weak upon standing. Ketoacidosis is a serious side effect that may be fatal. Symptoms include nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, tiredness, and trouble breathing. Stop taking jardiance and call your doctor right away if you have symptoms of ketoacidosis or an allergic reaction. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash, swelling, and difficulty breathing or swallowing. Do not take jardiance if you are on dialysis or have severe kidney problems. Other side effects are sudden kidney problems, genital yeast infections, increased bad cholesterol, and urinary tract infections, which may be serious. Taking jardiance with a sulfonylurea or insulin may cause low blood sugar. Tell your doctor about all the medicines you take and if you have any medical conditions. So now that you know all that, what do you think . That its time to think about jardiance. Ask your doctor about jardiance. And get to the heart of what matters. On one side of the room, its literally gray and white, literally. Thats the Color Palette on one side of the room. On the other side of the room theres yellows and blues and whites and greens. Physically, theres a difference in color in the tone, because one side is all men. All white. On the other side, some women, some people of color. Charles former First Lady Michelle Obama claiming people dont trust politics in large part because the Republican Party is all men and all white. With me now to discuss is wall street journal editorial page writer Gillian Melcher and blaze contributing host and former ohio state senator capri cafaro. Capri, of course, you were well, you are a democrat indeed. And served in the state senate for a decade and was the leader as well in ohio. Charles yeah. But heres the thing, what Michelle Obamas saying was sort of articulated during the course of the 2016 election, and it feels like the American Public rejected that. First of all, right now Michelle Obamas a private citizen, and shes entitled to her own opinion. What i think shes trying to say is traditionally democrats have particularly at the level of elected officials have had a history of a more Diverse Group of individuals whether it be gender or race or sexual orientation, for example. Charles and what was the main point of that . Okay, lets say, for instance, that was true. Whats the ultimate point though . I cant speak for what Michelle Obamas point may be. I think that, again, what shes trying to potentially, you know, convey is that when you have more diverse viewpoints, you know, represented in a party, youre going to have a more inclusive platform. Now, i have no idea if thats what shes talking about. I am of the camp we have to be less focused on identity politics and more focused on an economic message. That is why we lost in 2016. But again, as i say, the former first lady is entitled to her opinion. Charles right. Ali, what are your thoughts . I think she said what her purpose was, she said this is why people dont trust the government, because you see the majority of the gop as old, white males. And that is, obviously, a causal fallacy. Shes saying that because people in the gop are white and male, people dont trust the government. I dont think thats true at all. I think a really good guess as to why people dont trust the government are broken promises such as if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor or blaming benghazi on a video or Bernie Sanders criticizing capitalism while staying comfy in one of his three homes. I think those are probably a lot better reasons as to why people dont trust the government than the gop being mostly white and male. Charles gillian, yesterday we also had linda sanchez, a congresswoman out of california, saying that the old guard has to go. And a lot of people thought it was about age, but i think she really meant the old way of thinking, this identity politics, the division, its not working, and it certainly doesnt help the nation. I think youve got identity politics hurting the Democratic Party. I mean, if you talk to voters, what they thought about Hillary Clinton, one of the first things that came up was untrustworthy. As a woman looking at the Democratic Partys messaging, i think that they are not inclusive to feminist women. I think that theyre putting out a message that feminism is this, that if youre a woman, you should believe this, you should care about these issues. And i think whats potentially driving women over to the conservative side charles in other words, youre saying that theyre for women as long as women have the same political beliefs that they have. Theyre saying if you want to be a feminist, you have to have this stance on abortion. If youre a woman, were going to reach you by talking about campus sexual assault, about birth control, and i know a lot of women who are concerned about the tax code, health care more broadly. So i think the Democratic Partys platform to women has been extraordinarily limiting, and you compound that with stuff like at amherst this week talking about why do women work for the rights of women, thats a false choice. Charles in the meantime, capri, donald trump won significantly more white women voters than Hillary Clinton did. Linda sanchez, these comments about the older guard having to go, make room for new thinking, i dont think it was about her being a young, elected official, but just this old playbook that goes back to the 60s Civil Rights Movement kind of stuff has no place in todays modern world. Look, theres no question, and i say this as a democrat, that our party, my party has lost its way, you know, has abdicated the traditional economic fairness mention to donald message to Donald Trumps Republican Party. And linda sanchez, remember, here is a become of color, she is a latina woman from Nancy Pelosis home state of california and a union member to boot, okay . Is here is somebody who is saying, who checks all of the democratic boxes, and she is saying we need to move forward and get to the talent in the Democratic Party in the house caucus and let this old thinking go behind, and i agree with her. Charles ladies, thank you all very, very much. Meanwhile, the headline from the jobs report was weak, but beneath the surface, incredible strength. And also im going to tell you why the reagan tax policy is so easy to explain. Maybe the gop will watch. Well be right back. Ush High Commission investment products, Fisher Investments avoids them. Some advisers have hidden and layered fees. Fisher investments never does. And while some advisers are happy to earn commissions from you whether you do well or not, Fisher Investments fees are structured so we do better when you do better. Maybe thats why most of our clients come from other money managers. Fisher investments. Clearly better money management. Charles recapping breaking news we shared with you earlier in the show, three men now under arrest for their role in a foiled plot to bomb times square. They were talking new york city subways and shooting people at concerts. Charles so the major indices closed mostly unchanged although nasdaq did edge up to another allteem record close. The bureau of labor statistics, the jobs came in below expectations, we lost 33,000, the first monthly loss since september 2010, but lets keep in mind theres no doubt hurricane damage and disruption in two boom states florida and texas hurt the overall number. But beneath the headline, however, there were some very positive developments. Hourly wages up 2. 9 year over year, thats the best since 2009. The u6 unemployment rate, 8 p. 3 from 8. 6 , thats the lowest since june of 2003. Total unemployed, 6. 8 Million People a year ago it was 7. 9 Million People. And last month 575,000 people joined the labor force. One of my favorite indicators is employment to population ratio. That increased month over month and a record 154. 3 Million People are working according to the household survey. So now investors are look ahead to earnings and the tax drama. Now, by the way, on that note i talked about this earlier in the show, im confused why the gop cannot articulate the benefits of lower taxes. History shows lower taxes improve the economy which in turn results in more money in the governments coffers. Now, i get the notion that less is somehow more. It seems counterintuitive. But in this case we are talking about folks keeping more of the money that theyve earned. So, yeah, democrats argue lower taxes mean less money to fund our government and the military, and initially it is true, but as more money circulates in society, the government tax coffers begin to swell. I call that a winwin. Exhibit a, the reagan tax cuts. President reagan came into office, skyhigh corporate and individual tax rates. At the end of the second term, both were substantially lower, and the federal government was taking in substantially more money. Give you an example, corporate rates declined six Percentage Points in his two terms, revenue to the government increased 107 billion, 37 , over that time. The top individual tax rate declined 42 Percentage Points resulting in revenue to the government increasing 23 billion, 38 . So the bottom line is less actually turned out to be a whole lot more. By the way, two other ways to measure this. The impact on the economy, you look at gdp and jobs. Gdp under Ronald Reagans tax cuts when they kicked in in 1993, gdp surged to 4. 6 , the next year 7. 3 . In that span from 8389, gdp was 4. 4 per year. Employment growth with job creation under Ronald Reagan was legendary, highlighted by that september 1983 print, remember that . 1,150,000 jobs in a single month. That would be an amazing achievement now with 255 Million People in the civilian institutional population. Back then there was only 155 Million People in the job pool. By the way, i mentioned that ratio . It soared under Ronald Reagan. When he left office, it was at an alltime high. The jobs picture is fine, the stock market rally is intact, your next big test is going to be Third Quarter earnings. They Begin Next Week with a number of big banks releasing, so you have to watch, but its going to be exciting. By the way, ive got a programming alert for you. Dont miss wall street week tonight. Heres a sneak peek with a internal guest, john chambers, ciscos executive chairman. I think the concern is 3040 of the jobs that we do today going to be displaced by robots. The answer, unfortunately, is yes. Maria wow. We do not do our jobs if we do not create a new generation of startups to be absorb this work force. Charles thats tonight, 8 p. M. Right here on fox business, and immediately following that stay tuned for bob massi. He is the property man at 8 30. Well, the war on statues raging on. New york city putting Christopher Columbus under 24hour police protection. I kid you not. Ive got the details for you next. Can i kick it . Yes you can can i kick it . Yes you can well im gone charles well, the new York Police Depart now providing 24 7 Bodyguard Services to the marbled statue of Christopher Columbus in Columbus Circle. The patrols were set up in hopes of preventing any more vanned is limb before mondays columbus holiday vandalism. The security comes as italianamerican leaders continue to battle mayor bill de blasio over his decision to name a commission to evaluate columbus as a symbol of hate. Back with me to discuss, gillian and capris. Gillian, let me start with you. [laughter] you know, the statue controversy, i thought it was misplaced. I dont think you can erase history, and i think there are so many other issues that are more pressing, and now we see how those things can be a sliply slope, because its kind of nuts were protecting a statue 24 7. Yeah, thats something i can imagine new york city taxpayers are not thinked about paying more thrilled about paying for. The bottom line here is this is American History. Were not saying that its a good thing necessarily, were not saying that these figures were infallible. But i think the second that you start tearing down statues rather than adding context and building more statues, thats a dangerous thing. Charles and capri, going back to review history, in this case saying, hey, were going to go from Christopher Columbus who was seen by several generations as a hero to now someone who promoted hate, again, its a worrisome thing because you can apply that to a whole lot of things, and i dont think anybody wants to do that. Well, look, i know with a name like mine, im sure it shocks you and the viewers that i am a proud italianamerican and also a member of the board of directors of the national italianamerican foundation, an organization that has been a leader for the italianamerican voice here in the United States for over 40 years. We have taken a pretty strong stance on the issue of both columbus day and the columbus statue. You talked about history, heres something that i think needs to be remembered about history. The columbus statue in Columbus Circle was basically funded by small donations from italians after the largest lynching in American History which was of 11 sicilianos in new orleans. That is the context of that statue. And so is, frankly, for those, you know, those of us who are italianamerican, we see columbus day as part of, you know, italian heritage month is october, you know, its a way for us to celebrate our italian heritage. Now, that being said, for those that are concerned about, you know, the treatment of Indigenous Peoples and native americans, i would say this i also volunteered for a number of weeks on the blackfeet reservation in northwestern montana, and i can tell you if you really care about native americans, make that a policy priority. Invest in Mental Health and Addiction Treatment and Work Force Development and education and infrastructure more native americans. Make the Indian Health service better. Thats a Lasting Impact charles right. More so than taking down a statue. Charles although im not sure bill de blasios watching or listening, maybe he should get that message. Gillian, theres a big push particularly in the Democratic Party to change the day to Indigenous People day, things like that. De blasio, i think hes stirring the pot and in many ways making things worse. Yeah. Weve all seen the sopranos episode, right . Thats what this honestly feels like. I think this is something dont ever equate the sopranos with italianamericans writ large, im sorry. No, im saying the way this is controversial right now, this is something that that episode dealt with. But more broadly when were speaking about the College Campus controversy, were talking about figureheads like thomas jefferson, yale renaming buildings. This is not Something Limited to that. Basically, my point with the sopranos reference is i think maybe de blasios bit off more than he can chew. Capri . I think that there is a unique, i think, responsibility for bill de blasio because he is also an italianamerican. I think that he is getting more scrutiny than others, and i think he tried to put together this commission as a way to assuage both sides. Charles and i think one of the things that perhaps Everyone Needs to do is look in the mirror and say that the heroes of america, from the Founding Fathers on, none of them were perfect human beings, and maybe we start there, well avoid some of this controversy. Ladies, thank you both very much, and im going to probably end up Binge Watching the sopranos this weekend. West coast, how much closer does it move us in terms of entanglement . Im a pretty decent student of history and i have to ask, what is the point of no return. If he develops that capability to reach the west coast, we have to take it seriously. If you look at adolph hitler, he overran the rhineland and czechoslovakia and no one wanted to take him seriously. So when i hear people say we dont want to get into a military provocation, we dont want to engage north korea, you are feeding this machine because he knows he can continue to push this thing. The next thing you know there will be a Nuclear Device on top of the atmosphere and it will fry our electrical grid. Charles fred, diplomacy. A lot of people have given up on it. What do you think kim jongun wants . I think there is a role for this and a role for sanctions. China has been more cooperative than under any previous president in tightening the screws against north korea. There is a possibility of diplomacy. We have seentd infighting against the president and secretary of state tillerson. Who real it is i dont know. But it does show if there is diplomacy the president will drive a hard bargain. Mr. Trump is not going to let that happen if its going to amount top appeasement or buying off north korea or an understanding that well settle for north korea being a nuclear state. Those are the parameters for possible diplomatic talks and there are some slight indications north korea might be interested in resuming talks. Charles colonel west, a denuclearized north korea. The natural progression that began with kim jonguns grandfather. I dont know that they would give this up for anything. If they dont, it means we have to call them out. The cards have been laid on the table. We have been talking with north korea for 25 years over this nuclear issue. I was stationed on the Korean Peninsula back in 1995 when we were having problems. We would give food aid and monetary aid to his father. But kim jongun is a different character. He understands if he gets this capability is changes the calculus of geopolitics in the pacific. I totally respect fred. But if they wanted to do something about kim jongun, he would not thereby and north korea would not be the menace it is right now. Charles the sad thing is we are going to find out one way or another very shortly. Here is lou dobbs. Lou good evening, its been five days since a crazed killer opened fire on a las vegas Music Festival killing 58 and wounding almost 500 people. But police appear to be no closer to knowing his motive for that massacre or much about his life. Law enforcement Authorities Say his arsenal included tracer ammunition.
