Regulators were that amazon has to pay nearly 300 million tax bill for unpaid taxes. Amazon shares dropping on the dropping on them is down two thirds of a percent. It has been a contentious one for other retailers. Well bring you more on that coming up. Yahoos breach bigger than first thought. The warning as is revealed all 3 billion accounts were actually affect it in some way. Then there is this. Equifax shakas former ceo grilled on capitol hill over the data breach there. The company gave the new customer of the federal government why they are trusting that are trusting that for the much vast millions exposed. Of the stories coming up. Political analyst kirsten had witnessed here. Kevin kelly is at best and former cia operative cofounder mike baker is here. Thinks vilas discovered this morning he by marty exhausted from october. We had along september and here we go. Tom petty, that left me i just turned around in a second done without tober. Let it be november. But as interesting as we are talking about the amazon situation because if you compare amazon in the United States paying taxes versus walmart, amazon has paid barely any taxes while walmart has paid 54 billion. That is coming from company filings. Maria while the competitors in the amazon space have been upset that amazon has been able to get away without paying taxes because of the different in the business of online versus brick and mortar. Now we see the e. U. Went to amazon to pay a very big story today. Right now, President Trump will touch down in las vegas later today with the search for answers continues in the wake of the worst mass shooting in modern u. S. History. At the center of the investigation, begun mans girlfriend, 62yearold Marilou Danley. She was in the philippines at the time of the shooting. She touched down in los angeles, los angeles, lax last night where she was met with fbi agents. Authorities hope we make it should delight in what led 64yearold Stephen Paddock to kill 58 people and many others. Jeff flock on the ground in las vegas looking up out with the very latest. We are learning Stephen Paddock wired money to the philippines before the attack. 100,000. We have not confirmed yet it was wired to his companion a girlfriend, Marilou Danley. She has been cooperative with authorities which is a good sign. She is the best bet for figuring out what the motive of this tragedy years. At this point they still do not have a clear indication. Its expected she will travel from los angeles here to las vegas to meet with authorities to talk about that. You mentioned the body cam video. Here in las vegas there is a policy to her body cam said they are good about releasing it. Thats what they did yesterday. But the look and a listen. Lets have a look and a listen. Perhaps you hear some of that found there. Just after the shooting took place. Officers trying to figure out where it was coming from, trying to direct people. Pretty dramatic stuff. In addition, we reported yesterday there was a long delay between the time the officers got upstairs to the Mandalay Bay Hotel on the 32nd floor and the time they burst into that room was about an hour delay. Authorities clarifying why that was. It turns out the shooting had stopped. They do a little more clearly than i do. Take a listen. At that time is important to note the shooting had stopped. No longer an active shooter. Were not hearing any further shots. I want to make it clear again to you that while there was that slight delay, the suspect was no longer fire in an to the crowd. Reporter a very important point they are by some people had questioned that. They got up there very quickly, though. A matter of minutes between the time the shooting started authorities located and were able to actually stop the shooter. The president tweeted about that yesterday. Incredible quick response. Lastly, pictures from inside the mandalay bay on the 32nd floor. Youd also placed cameras out there so he could see whether authorities were coming for him, if they were coming for him. Extraordinary planning of this event and at this point still no clear motive as to what set it all off. Still working on it. Maria jeff flock live in las vegas. We will get to you and make bakeries here. Everyone wants to know what the motive is. Would you make of these new details showing the extensive preparation . Fortyseven pence, turning semiautomatic into fully automatic. Your reaction. The frustrating part is Everyone Wants to answer immediately. We used to for the most part you get that answer pretty quickly. The motive is right there. But investigations take time and if the motive is staring you in the face or they didnt even know, it can take some time and they want to make sure they get it right. Authorities may have a great deal of information related to the motive but its an Ongoing Investigation and may not be appropriate to release information. I would caution people to dial it back a little bit when they come to the motive. As far as the planning goes, this is not typical for what you see in an active shooter situation. They have to pick a target and that is whether this is a g hard disk g hard disk terrorist or a lone psycho, whatever the motivation, they have to pick a target. They can have the location and method of the attack. That is what he did. Over a lengthy period of time he collected all these weapons. Anyone whos dealt with weapons are not shocked by it because theres a lot of people that own a lot of weapons. Maria 47 guns . Im not saying its not excessive. As a gun owner i dont think thats the most part amazing part of the story. In a location. Yet this corner room. That is the surveillance part of it. But also the aspect we are talking in searching for a motive. They actually frequented country concerts. They waited for the last artist to perform. They just sang god bless america. The whole thing is really strange. He does not political affiliation. Thats the hard part. He had gone to country concerts. Hed been known around the strip is a gambler. The whole thing is very odd and you start layering in wired 100,000. There is a long history of filipinos returning money back to the philippines. There may well be something to that. I was a large muslim population. Theres a long history. Maybe he did online poker over there. Maria we are really speculating. Lets talk about what we know. Someone, his roommate in girlfriend is back in the u. S. She landed at lax last night. She went to japan, philippines, apparently went back and traveled a little bit initiative. Marilou danley sisters are now speaking out. Heres what they had to say to australia. Listen to this. So he can plan what is planning without interruption. In that sense, i thank him for sparing my sisters life. [inaudible] no one except Marilou Danley. Maria what questions do you expect Law Enforcement will be asking someone today . For us to go through everything. They went all the information in their back pocket they can independently have prior to interviewing her to note the communication was like between the two of them. Theyve been talking to associates. Then they set her down on the whole point of the exercise did you know his state of mind. Have you ever mention this . What were his frustrations . This is a massive buffer. But she is a linchpin obviously, what im saying also is they may well know aspects at this point in there does not seem because of the investigation. As far as turning weapons into automatics, that doesnt take a great deal of knowledge. That is a technique. You dont even need a bump stop to do that. What you are essentially doing is using the recoil of the weapon to accelerate the discharge of ammunition. You are still getting a single round fired with every pull of the trigger. But the recoil of the weapon and you can do it by placing your hand in putting the weapon in a little bit in getting your finger in there. We are going into the weeds. You can do with a handgun if you want to. You can accelerate the discharge of the round. This simulates automatic fire. But you can go out and do this without technical knowledge. You can also use some simple tools. U. K. Machine weapon into a fully automatic highly illegal and other devices will do this and simulate fully automatic fire. Error 527 people injured which is a lot greater than the 59 killed. Can you give insight for people watching who find themselves at a sporting event or concert, so many injuries are people trying to flee. What are some tactics everyone can use if they find themselves in the situation . If youre not mentally prepared, if youre not aware of your environment of this catches you by surprise, the natural instinct is to shut down. Fine motor skills start to shut down. Youre not thinking clearly because you are caught by surprise coming during the headlights. The best you can do as a member of the public come up with a public event to raise your awareness. You can be a high level of alert but when you go out, have a plan. Be aware. Raise your alert level little bit. Look around to where the exits are. If something does kick off, what am i going to do . Maria there wasnt a lot of places to go in that area. And now apparently the other hotels on the strip are getting higher with security. They are taking it up a notch, perhaps putting metal sectors in there. Is this the right move . Right now you dont have mouths factors going into hotels. I find it odd because the set of cameras in the hallways. They still werent able to locate that. I find that pretty interesting he was able to do that. Two significant windows on high floors in the still werent able to find it. The attacker has all the advantage until the attack kicks off. He can pick the location, methodology, timing, all of those things. He put a lot of planning into it. We will take a break right now. A lot more on the investigation coming out. 250 million is next. Her rise in actually doesnt really need to worry about this. Remember they started renegotiating big deal what the breach happened. Searching for answers in the wake of las Vegas Massacre, investigators are still grappling to find a motive as to why stephen pa to be gunned down 58 people in concert sunday night. Premeditated, premeditated, the fact that he had that type of weapon in that room it was preplanned extensively and im sure he evaluated everything he did in his actions which is troublesome. The person gets radicalized unbeknownst to us and we want to identify the source. Maria some of the people that can shed light back in the United States, the gunmans living girlfriend. Returns from overseas trip late last night and landed at lax. Shes expected to face tough questioning today. Joining us right now harvard law professor, former criminal defense attorney for o. J. Simpson and author of the book trumped up criminalization. Alan, good to see you, congratulations on the new book. What are your thoughts on danley back, shell be questioned today. The big question is whether or not Law Enforcement authorities are going to treat her solely as information or possible suspect. Is she going to get a lawyer, if she gets are a lawyer, are they going to Start Playing a chess game where he withholds information in order to get something in return. Do they have any leverage over her at this point . These are the question questions that need to be asked right now. Maria isnt it convenient that she went to overseas. He sent a hundred thousand dollars. What about the circumstantial evidence around her . Well, its very suspicious but the Law Enforcement authorities may decide simply not to go that route, not to treat her as a suspect but to try to find out everything she knows. Once she gets lawyered up, she will start withholding information. What they need her now as major source of information. Information first and criminal prosecution second. What you said was really key here. Do they have any information to leverage her at this point and thats really critical because, again, when you come into an interview like this, you want to do your homework and theyve had some time to do the homework, gather what they can about the association of her with paddock. For example, if he said to her, i want you to go abroad, i will send you money, i dont want you to know what im doing now, that would be one thing. She has to explain her trip, she has to explain the money, but more important, she has to tell them what they discussed together, why he had all the guns, did he have any contact with any foreign sources, all of that and its much easier to get that out of her if she doesnt have a lawyer, if she doesnt think of herself as a suspect, if shes simply there to help. Kevin how important is it following the money . I think about shes coming over here and shes talking to authorities, how much background have they done on her bank account, what has she done . Is it just so happened that he used one of the credit cards to buy ammunition, can you talk about that Forensic Accounting is going to play . Im sure they have great deal information because thats easily accessible. Bank accounts, wire transfers, whats most important is pillow talk, what they talked about, what she saw and may have suspected in retrospect does she remember things that she didnt know then. If shes smart thats the way she will phrase it. She wont acknowledge that she suspected or knew anything then. Now with the benefit of hindsight, i remember this, he got that strange call. Maria does it seem odd to you that they ruled out links to terrorism. They said no ties to terrorism. But this guy was obviously trained, 47 guns. Look, there are three or four possible explanations for a guy who has no record at all. He suddenly develops a brain tumor, very quick mental illness, but another thing possibly as he changes ideology, he becomes something he wasnt. We shouldnt jump to that conclusion but we shouldnt exclude the possibility that that they may exist. They may have ruled that out to send her a message that we are not suspecting that. Maria get her back to the u. S. A really good strategy, actually. Yesterday marked 22 years since the trial of the century. Jurors acquitted o. J. Simpson for nicole and friend goldman. He served nine years for attempted robbery, whats next for o. J. Simpson . He will try to move back to florida. Thats where he has residence. But constitutionally, they cant keep him out of florida. The nevada authorities can keep them out of florida. Under our constitution any american citizen has right to live in every state, they can limit his travel. Its all up to nevada. Florida will have input in how nevada decides but its all about nevada. Maria interesting. The Supreme Court kicked off blockbuster term, any specific case to watch at this standpoint . Major case. This is an epic season for two reasons, its probably kennedys last season, liberal conservative split where he becomes deciding vote, he is key because he said in press decision, maybe they are going too far and if he begins to sets limits, this is a revolution in american politician. Maria you also have cell phone privacy and the travel ban. The cake, the wedding cake for the gay couple, thats a big case too and we dont know how kennedy is going to decide. Kennedy is the Supreme Court for this term. If i were him, i wouldnt resign. Hes the most powerful man in america at this point. Maria what a moment to resign. Alan, good to see you. Alan. He handed out supplies after back to back hurricanes. Turks and caicos opened up beach. Here to return to return of Tourism Industry following the tragedy are jack, president of ovation vacation, joining us right now. Great to see you both, thank you so much for joining us. The founder and coo, tell us what it has been like the last several months in the face of the hurricane where even the areas that have not been hit have been sort of coupled under the umbrella of damage. Thank you so much. I think its been interesting, its been a challenging couple of weeks, turks and caicos hasnt seen anything like this since the 60s, or never before, whats important to learn is that we are a group of 40 islands, some islands were hit and we were able to open up tourist doors again because the island, really was not very effective, so those areas came up quickly. I think the leadership of the governor and the premier of the country came together with the private sector, we looked at power, utilities coming back on, the airport getting started. Its an amazing effort to bring everybody together and get things started again. There are some areas like the capital that needs more help. Once you get the information of what is is going on and what needs to be done, then you can see what can open and, again, the caribbean is such a large destination. For new york to miami, 1300 miles, bahamas to st. Lucia, what happens is st. Lucia doesnt really affect the bahamas. Sometimes we say caribbean and its one group of islands but its quite wide. Maria have you been force today take prices down, lure customers . , jack, what about you . Fiver or six islands that are popular, incredible draws. Maria were those affected . Most affected and those and the british and american virgin islands. The compression in the marketplace so actually the prices are steady or going up and this time to book for christmas, whatever is left, the winter season. Kevin the Main Business and main revenues from a lot of the islands is tourism, this could affect the whole region for a while Going Forward, right, it could take a big hit, financially . Yeah, sadly so, people have the misconception that the entire caribbean has been washed out. I cant tell you how many calls, where do we do now, theres no caribbean, four to five islands, small region, its 1300 miles from top to bottom. You still are have the rief iria maya. Strangely enough barbuda has been devastated but everything is up and running in antiguea. When devastation occurs, if you own hotel, how do we make sure that what happened in puerto rico doesnt happen to businesses here, how do we make sure we can open up shortly after. Im sure preparations are big learning part of the storms. I have to agree with you totally, having Good Government and good leadership in time of crisis is important. The private sector comes together, they need leadership, a lot of ngos come in, some of the ngos get activated right away and they work well for the country. At the time you need power, generators, water, all of the things that ways we can do better, im really proud of turks and caicos to see how it came together really quickly, everybody got supplies, people are its all hands on deck. You have the minister in charge of disaster managing driving the dump truck. These are the stories, a lot of Great Stories that come out of this and great learnings as well. Maria what about the checkin, we are talking about the massacre in las vegas, as a result of that we are begin to go see increased efforts, security efforts in Hotels Across the country, wynn hotels padding down guests, nypd training staff, increased security on the agenda for grace bay . It definitely is. No doubt about that. In the last 10 to 15 years we realized that the world has changed and we have to be really, really alert, all you need to do is get some information to the authorities, so we have to be more alert. I dont know what patdowns yet, thats not in the agenda. Think about the bali bombings, we have to be alert. Maria how bookings look for the winter . They are strong, 18 million worth of caribbean and mexico. A lot of concerns and a lot of questions and people are not sure what to do and thats where a great travel adviser comes in to help navigate the world. Maria if people had plans to go to puerto rico, some of the other islands, what happens to them . Everybody is getting money back and plenty of other places that are open for business. Search for answers is on, the girlfriend of las vegas shooter Stephen Paddock has returned to the United States, Marilou Danley is set to face a grilling from authorities as they look for motive behind deadliest mass shooting in nations history. News coming as police revealing body camera footage of terrifying ordeal. [shots fired] [sirens] get out of here. Theres gunshots coming from over there. Maria massacre having major impact on Hotel Security in las vegas and throughout the country. Details on sweeping overhaul and President Trumps trip to the city just ahead. Despite the attacks, stocks on wall street continue record run. We are looking at fractional pullback this morning. Dow industrials down 15 points today, nasdaq and s p 500 down fractionally. Yahoos breach bigger than first expected, the new warning you need to know about as its revealed all 3 billion accounts at yahoo were affected in some way. Equifax shocked meanwhile former ceo grilled on capitol hill yesterday over massive data breach there. And the company is gaining new customer, the federal government why they are trusting the firm that left millions of exposed, recovering from devastation, President Trump promising to do all he can to help puerto rico including wiping out their debt, more on that comment and his plans for debt and the region coming up. All the stories coming up this morning and joining me to talk about it political analyst Kristin Haglund and kevin kelly and former operative mike baker with us this morning. Great to see you. I would encourage people get more coffee and buckle up because we have news stories to cover and we have not talked about north korea or the yankees, of course. [laughter] kevin last month was focused on politics, this month is focused on earnings. You will see the financials come out in the next week or so then technology companies, reporting on amazon, but i think one of the bigger financial stories coming out is the president talking about wiping out debt. Theres no way he can make private bond holders take a loss, right, the only way that happened if we go back to financial crisis and the gh situation where the government comes in and they actually either you know, they basically the government needs to bail out puerto rico and pay off the shareholders, bond holders. Maria he made the comment to Geraldo Rivera in interview in puerto rico, your friends on wall street can forget it because the debt is going to have to go away. Kevin you have pensions holding this, mutual fund companies, you cant wipe out debt and thats the government superceding into a private treaties between two parties, puerto rico and bond holders, any time the government intervenes its a bad situation and thats whats happening with the eu and amazon. He throws out a comment and are thinking, what does that mean. Maria the president will be touching down in las vegas where the search for answers continues. As the center of investigation is gunmans girlfriend, 62yearold Marilou Danley, she got back to the u. S. Last night. She was at the philippines, landed late last night. Greeted by fbi agents when she landed. Authorities are hoping that danley can shed light on what led 64yearold retired accountant Stephen Paddock to kill 58 people and injured 520 others before turning around and killing himself. Jeff flock is on the ground and has the latest, jeff, we are learning that Stephen Paddock wired money to the philippines, 100,000. Jeff we have not confirmed this morning, maria, that that was wired specifically to Marilou Danley, his longtime companion. They werent married but they lived together for several years. New information, though, at this story in an interview that her sisters, danley sisters did with australian network, they say that paddock, quote, sent her away, didnt tell her what was going to happen but sent her overseas but she did not know anything about the plot that he had cooked up. Authorities are going to be questioning on her today and they say that she had been cooperative at this point. We do expect her sometime perhaps today or tomorrow here in las vegas to talk with authorities. The authorities, though, in terms of what theyve said about this thus far are not ruling anything out. They say they originally described her at somebody who they werent looking at and now a person of interest. This is how they characterized it at press conference last night. We havent ruled out anything in the investigation. What i can listen, im not trying to be coy, right, but i can confirm to you we have not ruled anything out. But i can also confirm to you that we have not ruled that in. We have a lot more questions than we have answers today. Jeff i think thats your headline today, more questions than answers, i want to leave you with some of the body cam video, here in las vegas they have policy that the officers wear body cams and release the video typically. Here is what they released in the moments just after the gunfire began. You guys, get down. Go that way. Get out of here, theres gunshots coming from over there. Go that way. Jeff dramatic pictures of what happened in the moments just after, as i said, i think youre headlines today still, maria, more questions than answers. Maria jeff flock in las vegas this morning. Meanwhile hospitals in vegas are grappling with treating victims, 58 people died, more than 527 were wounded in the attack, medical facilities are now reporting a number of brain surgeries and even paralysis resulting from gunshot wounds. This is local hospitals calling extra staff, medical personnel to help. Sunrise hospital treated 214 patients on the night of the attack, 67 people remain in Critical Condition there. The University Medical center of Southern Nevada took in more than 100 victims, thats approximately 50 have still not been discharged, they are still there and 3 st. Rose hospitals treated 61 patients, five of whom are in Critical Condition. A show of support of witnesses of the Vegas Massacre applauded First Responders at the tropicana hotel. Oscar, you were working at concert when the shooting occurred. Walk us through the moments on the scene. Well, initially it was extremely chaotic, the first patient came in through the medical tent and at that time i knew that a lot more patients were going to start coming in so i began getting trauma supplies ready and getting ready for the swarm of patients. Maria do you feel that you have what you need how much pressure or challenge are you facing on the medical side of things with the swarm of people that unfortunately had come in . Well, for me being the paramedic, initially i was the highest level of care in the tent so theres a lot of leadership responsibilities on my end. Luckily i had a lot of help there, theres a lot of emts and offduty firefighters that were willing to help so, you know, after the swarm of patients, i had a lot of help. Kevin oscar, im getting chills just even thinking about this again and channeling this and one of the things that came out of this is we saw the citizens of las vegas come together and donate tons of blood and stand in line for hours upon hours, how critical is it for them to continue to do this, give blood, can you just talk about kind of what we can do Going Forward to try to still help in the aftermath of this . Seeing the communitys response to this has been extremely inspiring. Ive driven by the Donation Center and ive seen lines all the way down the block and thats incredibly helpful and i hope it continues and its just been amazing. Oscar, Kristin Haglund, first of all, thank you so much for your service that night and for all the other First Responders that were there, you all deserve every class that we saw earlier and the footage, every round of applause because without you guys so many more lives could have been lost. My question to you is, as maria said earlier in the segment, theres still so many people suffering in the hospital who are going to be living a life maybe completely paralyzed suffering with other longterm chronic illnesses that will be very expensive over lifetime not to mention dealing with trauma, can you talk some what happens after an attack like this for the people who remain, who do survive and just have challenging life can be after that . Well, being there at the medical tent i saw most of the injuries that were sustained, there was a lot of chest wounds, a lot of shots to the head, upper extremities, things that are consistent with gunfire from above, so luckily myself and every other individual there at the event applied to extremities and, you know, those interventions are life saving, stopping stopping the bleed is the most important thing that you can do, so, you know, my hopes is that everyone recovers well. Maria there really are no words. Did everything i could. Maria we realize that there are no words here. Let me ask you about the renewed call, helmets to First Responders, thats with heavy plates, maybe able to stop a bullet fire from Assault Rifle or machine gun, right, but the calls have been met with controversy, what do you see here . How critical could this equipment be in terms of saving lives of First Responders in an attack like this one . Theres theres really nothing that we can do to prepare for situations like this, you know, i think we did the best that we could with what we had, you know, its something that we never expect to happen, so its difficult for me to, you know, comment on anything regarding that. Oscar, i wanted to say thank you for what you did and what you do, how are you holding up . Im doing fine. Its definitely, you know, its definitely an experience and something i will definitely never forget and there will be a lot of situations but like i said, i really hope the best for all the patients and they have a quick recovery and yeah. Maria oscar, thank you very much, we know how difficult it is and we appreciate your time this morning. Oscar monterosa. Thank you so much, sir. Yahoo says all 3 billion of accounts were affected, much more than anyone expected. We break down the data breach next. European union is going after amazon, the eu this morning ordering to recover 294 million from amazon in backed taxes saying that amazon has received a legal state aid going back to 2003. The eu is busy this morning. They also are making ireland go to the European Court of justice for not recovering up to 15. 3 billion, back taxes from apple. Anyway, back to amazon. Apple is doing pretty good. Here is amazon in premarket, down half of a percent in the trading at the moment. Maria yeah, im surprised, cheryl, that its not down more. This is a big fine and i wonder if this opens a pandoras box, kevin kelly. Cheryl its recovery, thats what investors are waiting. Kevin a lot of companies did actually shift where they were incurring revenue specially in europe, whether it was ireland, luxingberg, advertising business and revenue that they will be generating by sponsored listings. If you go to buy something online, you go to google or amazon . So they opened up a recent office here in manhattan, they bought it. They are bringing up the unit, they are corresponding it with the web services, youre seeing a lot of corporations getting with them, amazon is a stock that europe has to be careful not to look too unbusiness friendly right now. They are fragile right now and its not going to look good for american companies. I seem to remember then candidate donald trump talking about this as well as it relates to amazon. Thats why i say is this pandoras box. People should just be aware of when we talk about the deteriorating the conditions between u. S. Maria map welcome back, after exposing exposing the brieft data of 145 million americans, equifax contract with the irs. The Government Agency will pay equifax over 7 million to help prevent fraud and verified taxpayer identities. The no big contract was awarded last week this coming as former ceo of equifax testified yesterday about the companys massive security breach. Happened on my watch and as ceo, im ultimately responsible and i take full responsibility. Im here today to say to each and every person affected by this breach, im truly and deeply sorry for what happened. Maria joining us right now fox news senior judicial analyst judge andrew napolitano, your reaction . Only in america. As mike was saying during the break, this contract has probably been sitting around for a while. Its a relatively small amount of money by irs terms and it was awarded to these people probably before, not before the breach happened but before the breach was known to have happened. Its odd that there would be a nobid contract, nobid contracts means that the subject matter is requires professional Services Rather than the sale of a good or commodity because professional services, hiring lawyers, et cetera, are not subject to bids. Maria the irs, there you go. Lack of discipline. You would think that somebody in the administration, okay, we awarded this months and months ago, but this doesnt look good, lets pull it back. Who is running the irs . Its still a rogue agency, head scratcher as to donald trump was not afraid to fire anybody. Maria why . Apparently they are going to make big changes to the irs along with the tax plan. It could be maria hes leaving within the year. He could be that the president doesnt want to make changes until he know what is the tax rules are. The misbehavior of the irs against conservative republican and libertarian 501c3s is so well documented and they knew about it and looked the other way thats testing the patience of trumps strongest supporters that this guy is still there. Do you remember there were all the backups, apparently they blew up or the backup of the backup. The dog ate the file. Maria she took the fifth, remember. Most of us who have examined this know that there was enough evidence to indict her and probably convicted her but the trumpjeff Sessions Justice Department said we are not going to do it. Maria why . They dont have to give a reason when they are not prosecuting. Maria ceo testified on the hill and he was testifying before the Senate Banking committee about the companys fake account scandal and was called out by senator Elizabeth Warren, watch this. Im deeply sorry for letting down our customers and our team members. I apologized for the damage done to all the people who work in bank at this important american institution. You said youve been making changes at wells fargo for 30 years but you enabled this fake account scam, you got rich off of it and then you try today cover it up. At best you were incompetent, at worst you were complicit and either way, you should be fired. Maria do you think you should be fired . I do but not because Elizabeth Warren says so. I happen to agree with what she said and theres a basis for firing but he should not be fired maria i understand that. Hes attempting to justify this behavior. This is a reason why we have in the constitution, mike knows this called the its escaping me right now, the bill of obtainer clause. Kevin the issue is if the fed is overseas and then the fed should have oversight, get rid of the board, the board was brought up on this and no change over at the board and theyve been completely complicit. Maria pushed off the board, no . Kevin yeah. He was chairman of the board. The fed is its own regulator. The fed has oversight but Nothing Congress with do about the fed. It hassoun budget and can print its own money. Maria let me ask you this about puerto rico, the president visiting puerto rico yesterday following the destruction after hurricane maria. In a fox news interview commander in chief weighed in on the roughly 70 billion of debt that the u. S. Territory currently faces. Watch this. We have to look at the whole debt structure, they other owe a lot of money to friends on wall street and we will have to wipe that out, you can say goodbye to that, i dont know if its Goldman Sachs but you say goodbye to that. He means that he plans to ask the congress for a bailout. It might not be the full 73 billion, they might ask the lenders to take some kind of a haircut. That would be unprecedented. I dont know that the republicans would support it. This would be another nancy, chuck and donald deal. Can the congress do it, yes, the Supreme Court ruled that congress can spend tax dollars or money borrowed on taxpayers name on anything whether its articulated in the constitution including a bailout. But youre going to bailout puerto rico and youre not going to bailout, new york, new jersey, pension fund is under water by a couple of trillion, its going to be difficult politically. Today is National Taco day, can i get your thoughts on that . [laughter] i havent had one in years. Yesterday they asked me if kevin taco day followed on tuesday. You are right Vice President mike persons rolling up sloovrz to help out he donated blood yesterday in phoenix to raise awareness for those in need in tennessee Country Music stars honored las vegas victims at vigil in nashville, what do you make of these reactions . Is there anything, that we should be telling viewers to do if they want to help . I think again, that the drive for blood is much as they can get they are going to need not just for now, built for weeks to come, because there will be people recovering, that are going to need that blood, so if you can give blood please give blood meantime we just need to lift families up in prayers pray for those there at the event, that they will never forget having been a part of some of these catastrophic instances there are advising you never forget you need to keep all those in our prayers. Lets talk about the budget you have been showing such leadership here, and we want to talk about the house to vote on 2018 budget resolution this week would also open the door to using the reconciliation process to push tax reform through with simply majority what are your thoughts the budget is balanced at this point . What are the prospects for passage in temperatures of tax news. I am proud of our committee most conservative budget over 20 years mandatory spending reforms so important because as you know, and the American People are finding out, as we have 23 in debt we cannot continue out to spend what we bring in mandatory spending we start to rebuild military, and then this is the golden key to unlock tax reform that is so needed in our country, hasnt been reform since 1986 i am very proud of this budget going to be test this budget on the floor tomorrow, it has been a long time, in coming, i am very proud of my members, and proud of my conference that we will stand up say here is our vision for america i think it is a very fine vision. This 2018 budget looks different than what house version was called for tax plan that does not add to the deficit, the senate addition would eye allow tax writers to add 1 1 2 trillion dollars to deficit over 10 years how is this different . Talk to you us how this will be different than what we have spoken about past few months. Maria our budget will probably look different we dont have the budget of the senate yet although i have been meeting with some Senate Leaders so our budget will look different, that is not unusual for the senate to look different than the house, we will have to go to conference we will have to work that out i will say our budget is one that balances in 10 years that is what the American People want us to do, is fiscally responsible i hope we hold firm to a number of things in our budget very, very important for the future of this country. We have been talking about tax plan a couple weeks Republican Leaders now apparently backing away from enroll repealing state and local Tax Deduction estimated to cost 1 1 3 trillion dollars next decade what is your take on this . I know congressman peter king of new york will not vote for a tax bill that repeals deduction, new York Governor Andrew Cuomo tweeting this out last week under gop tax reform plan every region of new york will see a tax increase if this deduction is actually eliminated. Let me say we put out will continue to work to make sure that we get tax relief for everyone but at the same time there are some things that some states have, the state of new york and california, and some of the other states, that have very, very high property taxes, are getting a an opportunity to have that taken off their tax rushes they are getting a big a big relief that other states that dont have high taxes have weve got to find way to kwllize that so we dont have states with very high taxes getting the advantage while those were lower taxes, are not getting that advantage, so this is a hard thing to do to balance but at the end of the day what our goal is everyone will see relief in taxes. Maria yeah because if you dont change what is in the framework right now everybody is not going to get tax relief right . I mean, look, you are right, new york, california a lot of other states they have high taxes, and high property taxes, so is the idea floated about perhaps changing that deduction elimination maybe only keeping capping its at certain level or maybe just loiing people to deduct property Tax Deduction . What is the story. There are a lot of discussions going on, and there are so many moving pieces in this that you have to have a dial dials one thing down dial Something Else up will affect the a total package we will be looking at a lowest different options for those states that have those high property taxes income taxes at the end of the day as i say this is about relief we want to have relief for all americans. Are you still considering a fourth bracket for the highest earners . There is a discussion going on, on that, end as well. E i cant, because i am just wondering you know how you could not cut taxes on high evident earners be know top 10 of taxpayers pay 90 of tax or 078 . Close to 90 . If you dont cut taxes on highest earn are you really cutting taxes. If you get rid of amt, that really does help out, so there are other things besides just the brackets, and what you do in those, there are other pieces that will affect the those high income earners. In terms of spending on defense, your thoughts there, in terms of this being the right number that youve got budgeted what is your take in terms of what is most important, that you want to see, in their regardless as you head into tomorrow morning with obviously budget day . Our committee feels really comfortable where we landed on that number for our defense we know that our defense has been decimated last 8 years that we need to build up multicultural weve got to make sure that our men and women who serve this country, and protect us are protected when they go overseas, and so we feel comfortable with where we are at 21. 5billiondollar. Now i will say that the senate may come back with something different, but we really feel good about that, we did work with the with the defense hawks about where they thought we should land and we still have feel got to pretty good place where we currently where are president wander it where they wanted it kind of split difference there, and i think, ended up being a good amount that we put on that line. So i understand like if you get passage this week or next week, you can haved a tax bill on the president s desk by the end of the year by thanksgiving is if goal; right . That is our goal. Good to see you thanks so much. Thank you. But no matter where i ride, i go for my best. So if theres Something Better than warfarin, ill go for that too. Eliquis. Eliquis reduced the risk of stroke better than warfarin, plus had less major bleeding than warfarin. Eliquis had both. Dont stop taking eliquis unless your doctor tells you to, as stopping increases your risk of having a stroke. Eliquis can cause serious and in rare cases fatal bleeding. Dont take eliquis if you have an artificial heart valve or abnormal bleeding. While taking eliquis, you may bruise more easily. And it may take longer than usual for any bleeding to stop. Seek immediate medical care for sudden signs of bleeding, like unusual bruising. Eliquis may increase your bleeding risk if you take certain medicines. Tell your doctor about all planned medical or dental procedures. Im still going for my best. And for eliquis. Ask your doctor about eliquis. This friday because of things that happened like, you know, youve got temporary things in this number but about what is your take on the adt. Job numbers tend could be have a lot of seasonality to them we saw that in august numbers we see the numbers fast few jobs reports, better than the actual number. Labor department. Labor department. I think that is happening again. There is anticipation baked in but further goes into how this economy is very resilient, think about the manufacturing pmi number monday, 13year high above 60 we havent seen a number like that since may 2004 this economy rummi humming along. Smallest gain in september since together of 2016, weve got a good gdp but consistent growth. Funding for relief president fr firsthand look at puerto rico yesterday told fox news the island 74 billion dollars of debt will be wild out speaker of the house paul ryan said fema needs more money to help storm ravaged areas recover from Hurricane Harvey irma mar rao. So extraordinary we blew through the Rainy Day Fund that we have at fema, for typical a deficidisasters do mo emergency spending in the relief fund minus more response to fill the fema accounts, and some other accounts to make sure that we can respond to the hurricanes. Maria the white house is expected to request 29billiondollar disaster age package to send to congress 16 billion dollars of funds given to fema National FloodInsurance Program, according to rioteoiters. Dr. Thanks for weighing in this morning, how will fema use that money . There are two types of funding that you just mentioned one is the Disaster Relief fund. The drf major disasters fema currently supporting whether from hurricanes Harvey Irma Maria the second one is the National FloodInsurance Program, National FloodInsurance Program 30 billion dollars in debt that is the fund that pays out claims to homeowners who have Flood Insurance through us. Doctor we are seeing unfortunately puerto rico become heavily politicized but one situation is figuring out where do we go from where here what lessons do we take . I know it is fresh. How do we prepare for a situation like puerto rico, where the infrastructure is really dilapidated hard to get to getting in and out getting people there, about those especially when it comes to relief workers how do we move forward from this to learn for the next one. You are right there were many challenges we certainly have been learning less owners, from this disaster, as you mentioned one island, very logistically challenging, especially, given the situation we faced with air Traffic Control system down not able to get flights in to support initial responders commodities on island or nearby, second you mentioned the infrastructure very weak, it is not a resilient infrastructure like you would see here in u. S. Mainland. Third, the those responders he government officials who we rely upon to support our federal efforts were simply not available, they became victims themselves. So in houston, as you was a terrible disaster the Government Services continuing to be provided and fema supplementing those what were seeing in puerto rico wr not splepting in many cases we are supplanting filling in that gap that would normally be provided by local services that is a huge challenge it. What . First now this our top story this half an hour house of representatives, expected to vote on a 2018 budget rolls of this week to get ball rolling on president s tax overhaul plan the republican framework eliminate state and local Tax Deduction would hit high states like high tax States New York california illinois hard, now some republicans are reportedly backing away from the full repeal, of that deduction, after municipalitying pressure from voters joining us art laffer president reagans former economic adviser your take on all this, andrew cuomo governor new york tweeted out this last week, he said under gop tax reform plan, every region of new york will see a tax increase, so instead of the state and local tax repeal that wore reportedly be a choice between decreeing morning interest or special tax break for middle class property tax are they able to get this plan passed with that elimination of that deduction. I think they will i think they are going to get this plan passed i loveed your interview with diane black exceptional she is amazing but i think going to get this passed, the deduction the state and local Tax Deduction should be eliminated, now if it is not eliminated in this bill, because of political pressure so be it but it should be cone separately maybe a year from now give the state plenty of time to adjust, because frankly, these States New York, illinois, about california, some others connecticut are really ripping off the rest of the nation, because this deduction they are not paying fair share to the federal government, and that deduction should be eliminated, but if it is not due in this bill can be done separately next year. Art, you are talking about a tax cut plan when you eliminate that deduction taxes go up for new yorkers we also have this conversation taking place by diane black confirmed, that they are thinking about a fourth bracket may be as high as 37, 39 for highest earners again could be a tax increase. I agree with you, and this bill far from perfect i dislike doubling of deductions the cledz involved i live simplification Corporate Tax rate should be 15 they got it only down to 20 i love getting rid of estate tax wonderful thing one hundred percent expending capitol purchase goods this is all make making soup in the washington things never come out with everything you want. I dont know what things they are able to get through politically, but i think i think getting a bill that bill with corporate will be enough to really start this economy growing rapidly. We should say. I think they are going to do it. President said 20 rode line for Corporate Tax rate. My red line 15 but i gave up. [laughter] even though the president wanted 15 a lot of people feel fine with 20 will move kneeled on economic growth. We anticipated that was a starting point but art, you know from the reagan days that basically, president reagan tried to take care of this state and local tags deduction, he lost, i mean took him two tries to get real tax reform through 81, 85. Do you think we are going to end up with a completely watereddown version that is going to end up being tax cuts, because weve even head guests numerous times talk about to get real reform through going to take a lot more in order to get anything done before elections of 2018, is going to be really waertdz down just tax cuts. Watered down. If are watereddown what we got in 1980 if you remember wvs, that passed we didnt drop highest rate wonderful things came in proposed by democrats the broad head amendment a democrat got rid of difference between errand and under income, 81 bill a real problem deferringing taxes phased them in 86 tax where we did muscle and need of great the tax reform reduction i think this administration so far doing pretty well it is hard in this type of milieu to get a great bill through just really hard everyone is after trump, if they can get this thing through even watereddown will be a great political victory we get a lot better tax cuts later. First of all, using word milieu [laughter] all right. I was i am a simple guy scale of one to 10, what chances in your opinion that anything on the tax front gets passed before the end of the year . 8. 8 . Wow. One to so i gave you my 8, i i. Will they have democrat support with in your vision of 8, do you think they can republicans i think going to get democrats support in the senate because i would hate to be one of 10 democrats in trump state votes against this goes into that election 2018. There is a very good chance republicans will pick up a lot of senate seats in 2018. And these democrats are at risk so throw themselves at world if they vote a a growth bill why do that. Is there any other place to get 1. 3 trillion dollars in your view based on what you see here the elimination of the state and local deduction apparently is going to raise one 1 3 trillion dollars obviously facing treasure pressure to be deficit neutral top plan to pay for tax cut plan where do you see the money there is wiggle room what about the estate tax what about. That is no money at all that is no money at all, what you have there, in the state and local Tax Deduction is a static revenue payback, all of this stuff depends upon kort tax rate, let me just tell you, mnuchin and cohn are correct saying if we get that recollection in progrowth agenda it will pay foris a large independently without state and local tax destruction elimination. I have a quick question, because obviously a lot of americans contribute to charities organizations there has been a lot of talk about Nonprofit Charity even faithbased groups that doubling standard deduction has a negative effect on that area as we know a lot of organizations step in when this government is not able to provide search and seizure or we say people should help people not necessarily the government do you think that this tax plan is going to have adverse affect on chairlths nonprof charities, nonprofits. I really think should you have a low rate brd based flat tax people who want to give childbirth do so to give charity not because of deductions, when i look at Warren Buffetts tax returns i am shocked by how little he actually gives how much of it is a Tax Deduction, it is shocking to me, but i think that these faithbased groups are wonderful they have done a great, great job i love them dearly but i dont think any of these groups 501 c should be aloud i think get rid of 501 c3s best possible then have a low right broadbased flat tax, from dollar one to the last dollar you earn, and you have greatest economy ever if we did it was jerry browns proposal in 1992 did exactly that, jerry brown can you believe it . He leaving charitable deduction in. They should gives 3 1 2 billion dollars to sons answer Daughters Foundation should, be a limit maybe anything over a billion should not be deductible or you should pay the unrealized cal gains tax or something, scomrust a token that he paid something for it. Getting into weeds there you are right it is incredible. A huge amount of money. How much he doesnt give i have noticed as well over years, art great to see you good to see you. Thank you very much.
