The problem we have and you can see in the Hurricane Center some that ive been saying is for four or five days i thought this would reach its highest intensity as it came to the coast as far as the barometric pressure and the Hurricane Center is now upping it to a category 5 at landfall again as i understand for the 5 00 advisory but this is to be expected because of where its going. You have to realize the most intense hurricane in u. S. History was the 1935 labor day storm that came across the florida keys and thats where this is going so you have a combination of very warm water and ideal situation in the upper levels of the atmosphere to promote the growth of this storm before landfall. What can happen with this . You could cutoff the florida keys completely. Well, theres only a bridge between the florida keys and florida right . Thats how those two are connected. What about the big population centers, joe because i know youve studied this and looked at it intently when you talk about miamidade, when you talk about those big cities in southern florida, what are we looking at, how bad could it get i think miami will get wind gusts of between 100 and 120 miles an hour and the worst is in the naples, fort myers and Bonita Springs. The worse Case Scenario the storm is as strong at barbuda, and i bringing that name up because people that live there know who donna is, in the 1960 hurricane giant category 4 storm and charlie was a fist of fury back in 2004 relatively small storm. This is a monster so as we take you up the coast tampa will get wind gusts 80 to 100 miles an hour but out of the north orlando gets wind gusts to a hundred miles an hour as st. The other half hit when sea surface temperatures were above normal. Theres a lot more factors that go into a major hurricane formation than just sea surface temperature, and then the big reason why harvey made such a mess is because once it moved just onshore, it stopped moving and thats pretty rare and theres no part of Global Warming theory that predicts that a hurricane is just going to sit there and keep dumping its moisture rather than moving off to cover more states and then die off some place. Equifax shares had their worst day in 18 years dropping almost 15 . Cybersecurity expert morgan wrig ht joins me now im so glad youre here today morgan because ive been following this story and i am so angry for consumers out there. Now, i want you to answer this. The companys blaming some kind of problem with their software, saying that it screwed up the online databases, but come on, there were reports before that that the company had major problems with security. Whose right here . Look, they knew about this not only a year ago one of the firms that monitors complain that said you guys have bad practices bad controls. In march of this year, its called struts, part of an open Source Software they put out a notice saying this stuff is vulnerable you need to patch it so not only were they told a year ago they were given the fix in march so the question is did they apply it and if so, but look, 143 million records . This is its beyond unthinkable. We need a version of sarbanesoxley for digital just like for the financial side. Gerri thats my next question what do we do about this . Theres a california democrat calling for an investigation in congress he said this. Equifax waited six weeks before letting the public know about the massive security breach. Seems like he says an unreasonable delay. Is it time for the government to get involved . How do we fix this . Look theres litigation, legislation and regulation and were at the legislation point but here is the problem too gerr i. Theres a patch work of laws, we dont know which law applies and theyre down in georgia and i researched georgia law that says you have to do a notification after you secured a system so whats reasonable a year, six months so theres no timeframe around this but the problem is if you put a National Standard you have states like california who have very strict laws about data breach notification and they are concerned about their laws being weakened. Gerri no matter where we live absolutely but i need you to focus on this for a second theres another report out there thats saying three equifax executives sold 1. 8 million stock around august 1 when the stock was at an alltime high. The information apparently was known internally. What do you think they knew of the hack then . Well, look. As a form edetective and somebody who used to work with russians i dont believe in coincidence. This you dont find out on july 29 you have a massive hack and then august 1, you know magically sell some shares so here is the problem. Youll have an investigation into the hack itself. Thats one criminal investigation. I foresee and there should be a criminal investigation into what these guys knew and when they knew it and that may factor into why they delayed notifying other people to allow some time to go so this transaction could be hidden among everything else. Gerri all right, so the company has a website for consumers and this is the kind of thing i pay a lot of attention to and theyre getting people to go to trusted credit monitoring thats what they want people to do, but do you know what . Its an equifax product so why the heck would i do that . And beyond that, their help website isnt even up today apparently it was up later in the day but for most of today, it was, you know completely shutdown. Whats going on here . Well here first of all the data breaches the reported number is never the actual number. The actual number will be higher the second thing and this is just stuff that came out recently, gerri. People have been reading the Privacy Policy and terms and conditions. If you go to that site to check if youre vulnerable and you register this stuff theres language in there that says youve given up your right to be part of a class action lawsuit. Gerri thats right. So theres underhanded stuff going on. What we need now is transparency and what we need this is one of those things where somebody better be going to jail and be in handcuffs because this is criminal as criminal as it gets when 143 billion people by the way, at the average of 141 cost per record breach thats a National Average comes out from ibm, theyre looking at potentially 20 billion in impact to equifax alone. The way to know that is to go and see your doctor. Doctors arent just here, they arent just here to fix you up when youre sick. They are here to keep you healthy and find out if theres something early because Early Detection can lead to a more favorable prognosis. I had eight rounds over four months, a mastectomy of my right breast, two surgeries, but theres a lot going on okay, radiation, five weeks of daily radiation it was a lot but i have to tell you testify tiffany when i look back at this whats so interesting to me is how much i grew as a person, how much my life changed in positive ways and i think that its the fear of what can happen, that keeps women and thats in the radiation room. Its the fear of what could happen that keeps women from getting mamograms. What would you tell women to encourage them to get out there and do the right thing . Looking at your pictures youll see its a team, right . You have a team of nurses a team of chemo nurses a team of doctors. Gerri theyre wonderful. And they are so wonderful.
