as the sun rises over the olympic stadium in Tokyo. It's clear this is the calm before the excitement. Even from here, there's a way to still have Team USA and hometown pride. Not only, you know, is a great to root for Team USA, but it's also really fun to know the athletes and kind of see who has participated on behalf of your city before and he's gonna be participating and was born in your city. Uh, This year online company been verified, created this website analyzing more than 7000 olympic athletes. Gathering data beginning from the first Games in Athens Greece in 18 96. You can get information on each athlete and even check the medal count. City by city We studied, you know, all the, basically the medals that came out of each state, California ranks second in the country for a number of summer. Olympians per 100,000 people Hawaii ranks first this year, 121 athletes from California are at the games, there from 78 different cities. What we know is is people and where they're from and things like that. And so we thought it made sense to kind of focus on birthplaces and olympians. Sacramento has had 24 olympians who went on to win 24 medals in the Summer olympic Games either as an individual or as part of Team USA and we'll just have to watch and see how many medals Team USA brings home this year in rowing or any other sport.
