SPRINGFIELD — The Fatima Lady Comets came back from a nine-run deficit to win last year’s state championship.

So when they faced a two-run deficit against the St. Francis Borgia Lady Knights, the Lady Comets acted like they had been there before and handled it like a walk in the park.

Fatima only trailed for a few minutes Friday, scoring 12 unanswered runs and cruising to a 12-2 victory in five innings to claim its second straight Class 3 state title at Killian Softball Complex.
