New Canaan's Irwin Barn, built of stone and wood in the late 1800s and early 1900s got refurbished windows. The Town budgeted $132,000 for repairs to the barn in the 2018-’19 capital budget. There had been a budget discussion about spending $50,000 for putting public bathrooms on the lower floor, but that was taken out before the budget was passed — hence the outdoor restroom.Grace Duffield / Hearst Connecticut Media
