We hear kittens and puppies are in demand by housebound people seeking four-legged companionship. Hopefully, in time, these pets will not be abandoned for cruises, vacations, etc., when things loosen up. A pet is forever!
There are also a large number of cats and dogs whose owners have been unable to keep their beloved companions. Pet food, litter, pads, and vet bills add up— as do the costs of living for the owners, especially seniors already living on a limited income.
