Pro-farmers rally in Mangaluru on Tuesday.
MANGALURU: The Republic Day in the coastal city witnessed pro-farmers rallies and slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday.
Various organisations led by the Dakshina Kannada district wing of Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), the youth wing of the CPI(M), held a farmers’ parade from deputy commissioner’s office to the Mini Vidhan Soudha premises.
Holding tricolour, protesters shouted slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi while they demanded the scrapping of contentious farm laws. A tractor was also brought to represent symbolically the protest being held in Delhi. A protest meet was held after pay homage to over 150 farmers who died during the protests.
