Farmers Protest Rail Roko Live News Updates: Kisan Mazdoor Morcha leader Sarwan Singh Pandher has announced that protesting farmers are set to stage sit-ins on railway tracks in various locations across Punjab, causing potential disruptions in transportation. The protest is planned to take place in districts including Ferozepur, Amritsar, Rupnagar, and Gurdaspur. In a steadfast call for their demands, farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal has urged the Centre not to evade its responsibility of ensuring a legal guarantee for Minimum Support Price (MSP) on all crops. As farmers gear up for the proposed 'rail roko' protest today, Dallewal, representing the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-Political), and the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha, emphasize their collective stand on pressing agricultural issues.Rejecting the Centre's plan for guaranteed procurement of pulses, maize, and cotton at MSP, Dallewal insists that farmers deserve MSP on all crops for their survival, adhering to the "C2 plus 50 per cent" formula recommended by the Swaminathan Commission. He dismisses claims that providing MSP on all crops would impose a significant financial burden, pointing out the government's substantial expenditure on importing palm oil."The government should not shy away from its responsibility. To safeguard the country's farmers, a law on MSP should be enacted," Dallewal asserts.Simultaneously, Kisan Mazdoor Morcha leader Sarwan Singh Pandher announces that protesting farmers will stage a 'rail roko' demonstration at various locations in Punjab, including Ferozepur, Amritsar, Rupnagar, and Gurdaspur districts.
