Ghaziabad: A day after farmers and BJP workers clashed at UP Gate, 200 ‘unknown’ farmers were booked on Thursday for rioting, criminal intimidation and assault on the basis of a complaint by a party worker. No action was, however, taken on a counter complaint by the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU), following which farmer leaders threatened to start indefinite protests outside police stations across the state.
The complaint lodged by Sidhi Pradhan, a BJP worker, stated that when they were waiting to welcome the party’s newly-appointed state secretary, Amit Valmiki, more than 200 farmers attacked them with sticks, iron rods and weapons, and also damaged their vehicles.
