As always, the double-round week leaves some teams taking significant steps forward in the standings. Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul is the hottest team in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague right now, boasting an eight-game winning streak and playing better and better. It is no surprise that Jan Vesely was chosen as the EuroLeague MVP for January 2021. FC Barcelona beat Zenit St Petersburg at home and Olympiacos Piraeus on the road, and now leads the standings with a 17-6 record. AX Armani Exchange Milan also beat Zenit and Olympiacos and keeps challenging for not only a playoffs spot, but home-court advantage. Real Madrid and FC Bayern Munich were the other double winners in this round. Bayern beat Khimki Moscow Region and CSKA Moscow in the Russian capital, getting closer to its first-ever playoffs berth. There is still a long way to go and the playoffs race is set to be more interesting than ever.
