Falmouth Mayor, Colin Gager, is upbeat at news that the field hospital that is being erected on the grounds of the Falmouth Public General Hospital in Trelawny is slated to be completed by the end of this month.
The Falmouth Hospital is one of three of the country’s primary healthcare facilities that are currently near COVID-19 capacity, as Jamaica has seen a spike in cases of the pandemic over recent weeks.
According to healthcare officials, the rise in cases is mainly in the western end of the island, and the development has placed a strain on the health facilities there.
