The Supreme Court set aside the Kerala high court order that suspended the conviction of Lakshadweep MP PP Mohammed Faizal in an attempted murder case. The Supreme Court directed the high court to reconsider the plea for suspension of sentence within six weeks. The court stated that the high court's decision to suspend the conviction was erroneous and should have considered the gravity of the offense. The Supreme Court also noted that Faizal will continue to be a Lok Sabha MP until the high court reaches a new decision.
