Facebook and Instagram without advertising will soon cost ten euros a month in the EU. This price was mentioned by the parent company Meta in proposals to regulators. For another linked account – for example on Instagram – an additional six euros will be due. On the smartphone, the subscription should cost 13 instead of 10 euros, it said, citing informants. In this way, Meta would make users pay the levy that Apple and Google, as operators of the app stores, withhold from the purchase price. The company had always rejected paid subscriptions, on the grounds that its services should be available to everyone.
