On May 10, 2024, the aurora borealis was visible in Elko County. This photo gallery was taken along State Route 225 and State Route 226, in the wilderness between Elko and Wild Horse Reservoir, where the pink, purple and green colors were especially vivid due to the lack of light pollution. Around midnight, several people pulled over their cars near Adobe Summit, joining together to view the spectacle from atop the mountain.
