Software company Expensify is seeking to narrow the pay gap between U.S. men and women, which has barely budged in the past two decades. The company said it will donate 25 cents for every dollar the company pays to white, male employees to fund justice and equity efforts through its charity, Expensify.org.
This company expects the effort to generate $3 million in 2021.
The move was sparked by internal employee discussions about diversity, equity and inclusion, the company said. Women earned 85% of what men took home in 2018, according to a Pew Research Center study.
