ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Executive Deputy Chief Andre Anderson will leave the Rochester Police Department at the end of the month.
Chief Cynthia Herriott-Sullivan announced his planned departure Tuesday.
In her announcement, she said he accepted a position that will allow him to move closer to his family, including his wife, children and grandchildren.
“Executive Deputy Chief Anderson has been a committed servant leader to the citizens of Rochester and to the staff of the Rochester Police Department. I will miss my friend,” Herriott-Sullivan said in her release.
The release also included a quote from Anderson, saying “Making the decision to leave Rochester was not an easy choice but making a move to be closer to my family was the right decision for me at this time. It has been my honor to serve Rochester through a challenging time and I thank Mayor Warren, Chief Herriott-Sullivan, the men and women of the Rochester Police Department and the citizens of Rochester for the opportunity to bring my experience to this great city and for being open to new ideas to move the department forward.”
