Executions worldwide at highest level since 2015: Amnesty – DW – 05/29/2024

Almost three-quarters of the recorded executions were carried out in Iran alone. In the US, meanwhile, executions rose for the second consecutive year. But a record low number of countries, 16, executed people in 2023.
