In a bid to curb the spread of the coronavirus, the Maharashtra government announced that films, TV serials and advertisement shoots will be halted in the state. In a bid to ''Break The Chain'', Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray announced a set of rules and guidelines that to be implemented throughout the state until 7 AM on May 1.
Following the announcement on April 14, all film shoots, including those of big-budget films like Alia Bhatt's 'Gangubai Kathiawadi', Salman Khan's 'Tiger 3', Shah Rukh Khan's 'Pathan', Amitabh Bachchan's 'Goodbye', were all brought to a grinding halt. Considering the travel restrictions, logistics and other factors amidst the pandemic, several filmmakers opted to construct massive sets at studios in the city.
