Lexington, KY — A new Kentucky Sire Stakes stallion bonus program has been announced.
“We are extremely excited about the new Kentucky Stallion Bonus Program approved last week by the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission. This is the next step in advancing the Kentucky program and one that is already making an impact with the announcement of three-time Breeders Crown Champion Gimpanzee retiring to stud duty at Diamond Creek Farm of Kentucky. Congrats to the team at Diamond Creek,” says Bob Brady, Kentucky Harness Association President.
Under the new Stallion Bonus Program, beginning with the 2021 breeding season, any horse that resulted from a stallion standing in Kentucky and a mare residing in Kentucky for 180 days (and nominated to the program) is eligible to receive a 50% bonus if finishing 1st through 5th in any of the legs and the finals of the Championship and Commonwealth Series Programs.
