The Delhi High Court has reserved its order on a plea filed by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, challenging his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in the excise policy case. Kejriwal, currently in judicial custody, has sought his immediate release. The Enforcement Directorate argued that Kejriwal cannot claim a special exception due to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The ED counsel countered Kejriwal's claim that the agency has been unable to locate alleged proceeds of crime and that the court cannot substitute itself in the investigation.
