The two-star military general who was detained for transporting nearly 30 Chinese nationals in violation of the government-imposed lockdown and inter-provincial travel ban has been dismissed from the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF).
Former RCAF lieutenant general Sum Pov, who served as the deputy chief of the Military Strategy Research Team of the army's infantry, was arrested on April 21 along with five other accomplices while smuggling 28 Chinese nationals from Phnom Penh to Svay Rieng.
