The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation on Monday announced the indictment of a former Cheatham County deputy on felony sex charges.
Jeremy Ryan Ethridge, an ex-sergeant with the Cheatham County Sheriff's Department, was arrested Monday on two counts of sexual battery, the TBI reported.
According to TBI officials, on Sept. 4, 23rd District Attorney General Ray Crouch requested TBI agents to investigate allegations of sexual battery by an off-duty sergeant.
During the course of the investigation, the TBI reported, agents developed information around Aug. 29 that Ethridge, 37, was responsible for inappropriately touching a female without her consent.
On May 3rd, the Cheatham County Grand Jury indicted Ethridge on the sexual battery charges.
