Mike Richardson, a starting cornerback on the Bears’ 1985 championship team who identified himself as “L.A. Mike” in the pop hit “The Super Bowl Shuffle,” has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
At around 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, Phoenix Police Department officers responded to a report of a shooting. They found an adult male, Ronald Like, 47, with a gunshot wound. He later died.
Richardson was arrested Wednesday and booked on suspicion of second-degree murder, misconduct involving weapons and a felony warrant. He is scheduled to be arraigned for the murder charge on Jan. 7, according to Maricopa County (Arizona) Court records. He was given a $1 million bond.
