LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The doors to a college education — too often locked for Louisville's most disadvantaged children — will be pushed open over the next four years for thousands of Jefferson County Public Schools graduates, thanks in part to a new $3 million philanthropic donation announced Monday.
The donation from the James Graham Brown Foundation bolsters an already multimillion dollar fund raised by Evolve502, a local nonprofit established in 2018 as part of a coordinated civic, business and educational effort to ensure more Jefferson County children make it to and through college.
"I don't think we can magnify enough the impact of this scholarship," JCPS Superintendent Marty Pollio said during a morning press conference at Iroquois High School.
