'Revenge Travel': Australians making up for lost time20/02/2021|8min
AAT Kings Group CEO Matt Fuller says a COVID-19 vaccine is "the very next step in rebuilding confidence" in the travel industry as Australians seek out "revenge travel".
"We have been waiting during 2021 for those positive signs of the rebound of our industry," he said.
"People are now looking at really meaningful travel; the opportunities to make travel matter so to speak. Some have even referred to it as 'Revenge Travel'; those real bucket-list opportunities.
"We recommenced travel in Tasmania at Christmas time and that has been very popular."
The first COVID-19 vaccine rollout starts on Monday and there's been a $5 million Tourism Australia campaign blitz to kickstart one of our biggest industries.
