An Evansville man was charged after he fled from deputies on Pennyrile Parkway Thursday afternoon.
Christian County Sheriff’s Deputy Clevin Robinson says he stopped 48-year-old Monterreal Fields for speeding around the Lovers Lane exit.
During the stop, deputies say they could smell the odor of marijuana and asked Fields to step out of the vehicle, he then put the vehicle in gear and fled at speeds of 100 MPH.
Fields then reportedly slowed down to the speed limit around the Kentucky 1682 exit before coming to a stop and being taken into custody.
Two marijuana cigarettes were reportedly located in his belongings. Fields is charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree fleeing or evading police, speeding, and possession of marijuana.
