Post-Brexit relations between the UK and EU have become tense once more as Brussels warns it will launch legal action against Britain "very soon". The move comes after the Government decided to unilaterally delay the implementation of part of the Brexit deal relating to Northern Ireland. The Government will extend the grace period on checks to allow Northern Irish businesses more time to adjust. Brandon Lewis, the Northern Ireland secretary, announced the “new operation plan” for sending goods from England, Scotland and Wales to Northern Ireland to the Commons on Wednesday.
