Waterway transport is considered the most sustainable inland mode of transport after rail, due to its low societal costs. And when all transport modes move to zero-emission, waterway transport becomes the transport mode with the by far least societal costs. Researchers from SINTEF Ocean are leading a consortium of partners from industry, research, and academia to develop a new zero-emission waterborne transport system.
