The story of Ethan the dog just gets better and better.Since his rescue in late January, he has made great strides on his road to recovery -- each giving us a little bit of needed hope.(In the player above, watch Ethan's new tricks)In the latest update posted by the Kentucky Humane Society, who took Ethan in after being starved and abandoned in their parking lot, the dog got a reunite with one of the people who saved his life: an 11-year-old boy Tatum. The organization shared Tatum and his family's story of finding Ethan on their Facebook page: "After they dropped off their donations, they saw what they thought was a dead dog in our parking lot lying on a white towel. They stopped their vehicle and jumped out of the car. They called the adoption desk and waited outside with Ethan until our staff came out and rushed him to our veterinary ward. Their 11-year-old son, Tatum, was understandably very upset to see a dog in such a horrific condition."They said the family, like the rest of us, has been following updates on Facebook, relieved to see that Ethan was still alive. They have been following Ethan’s progress every day since then. A few days ago, Tatum’s grandmother reached out to ask if her grandson could meet Ethan now that he is healthy. "We couldn't agree more and arranged a meeting so Ethan could say a proper 'thank you' to Tatum and his family," the humane society said.It is also just a couple weeks from Tatum’s 12th birthday, so the organization got him a “Team Ethan” shirt and a thank you card signed with Ethan’s paw.How sweet! And congrats to Ethan for recently reaching his goal weight.
