Erie police said information from witnesses led to the identification of a suspect in a Tuesday afternoon shooting that wounded a 30-year-old man in the head as he was outside of an eastside gas station.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Erie resident Hail Abdurahman Ali, 26, on attempted homicide, aggravated assault and other charges in the shooting outside of the 17Xpress, 2036 Broad St., at the intersection of Buffalo Road.
Ali remained at large Thursday morning.
Police charge that Ali is the suspect captured on surveillance video from the store. The video shows the suspect approaching the victim, whose name was not released, and shooting him in the head before firing other gunshots at him. The victim was shot twice, with at least one of the shots striking him in the head, investigators said.
