Erie County is holding an exam to be hired as a deputy sheriff and time is running short to apply for the test

The first stage to becoming a deputy is taking the test and going on the Civil Service hiring list. Then, when there are openings, those with the top scores are called in to go through the procedural hurdles. The next test is in September., with the application deadline on Wednesday.
