The CISSS des Laurentides, the area health authority, took the issue to court after a sit-in was staged by seven ER nurses at the hospital. On July 13, the nurses refused to make themselves available to work overtime, forcing management to have nurses from a different shift remain later to cover the staffing shortfall.
