As the halfway point of the season passes, the race to catch bluefin intensifies. One crew even doubles down, splitting up to increase their odds of catching tuna.
Early on in the episode, the Hot Tuna crew has a hooked tuna chafe the line and get away, which frustrated captain TJ Ott.
After losing that fish, Tim Ott, TJ Ott’s father, made the decision to bring out another boat, the Badfish.
“It’s been a tough year, financially, and we need to get more fish on deck,” Tim Ott said.
By having two boats on the water, the Otts are essentially doubling their odds of catching a tuna.
