Englewood Cliffs NJ names Glenn Luciano councilman, replacing Tsabari

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS – The Borough Council met bright and early Friday morning to fill the vacancy on the dais left when Councilwoman Deborah Tsabari resigned last month.
Glenn Luciano was appointed to fill the council seat until Dec. 31.
Tsabari attributed her departure to personal attacks and bullying by the mayor. In accordance with the state statute, the council had 30 days to fill the vacancy by appointing someone from the party of the previous official, in this case a Democrat.
During Friday’s special meeting, Mayor Mario Kranjac suggested that the only sitting Democrat, David DiGregorio, make the motion for the appointment. When DiGregorio declined, Kranjac called it “delicious.”
