The Empire State Trail connects New York’s corners, from Manhattan to the Canadian border in the north and west, all running through Albany.
A Stormville man is aiming to use that newly completed trail to connect those in need with food.
Jim McCormack has plans to walk 200 miles of the trail from Manhattan to Albany, where the trail splits into two directions toward Buffalo and Plattsburgh. He’s doing the trip in segments, walking as few as four to more than eight miles a day. He rides home at the end of each day and back to where he left off the next.
