Elsewhere, Atkins talked about how Charity is "drawn" to Moira's brother Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb), who has just descended on the village, and that she's excited by "his mysterious qualities, humour and taste for danger."
She noted: "I think she can see in some ways they are cut from the same cloth. They are both damaged from the inside out and this strange familiarity is quite comforting.
"She knows full well she's getting entangled with quite a dark force. But at this stage, the thrill of revisiting her illustrious past whereby she spends her time living on the edge and seeking a fix through illegal activities is one of the only things keeping her going."
