Eighty-two-year-old Drusilla Williams watched on Monday as her Rock Hall, Walkers Terrace, St George home was destroyed by fire.
However, she is giving praise that she and her two sons are alive and well.
Williams was at the village shop when her house caught fire but her two sons were home.
“I didn’t long come from The City and I am accustomed to getting my bread, but when I came home and didn’t see it I went by the shop around one o’clock or 1:30 p.m.,” she said. “I was sitting down talking when a neighbour told me ‘Drusilla you out here and the house burning’, so I came down.”
