Myrtle Beach first responders receive COVID-19 vaccine

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) – The Myrtle Beach City Council received an update on COVID-19 vaccination efforts across the city during a special meeting on Thursday.
According to information presented during the meeting, approximately 35 members of the Myrtle Beach Fire Department and 45 employees of the Myrtle Beach Police Department have been administered the vaccine as of Jan. 7.
Myrtle Beach Fire Chief Tom Gywer is one of those in the department who have been vaccinated by Grand Strand Medical Center. He said those who were vaccinated with him just before Christmas are nearly due for their second dose of the Pfizer shot.
