At least eight people have died and 40 others have been injured after a passenger train collision in Andhra Pradesh’s Vizianagaram district. The accident occurred when a passenger train overshot a signal and collided with another passenger train, resulting in the derailment of at least two coaches. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs 2 lakh to the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to the injured.
