The armed forces of Egypt and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) today launched a joint military exercise, said a military spokesman,
Anadolu Agency reports.
Units from the special forces of the two countries are taking part in the Zayed 3 exercise in the Gulf state, according to colonel Tamer El-Refai, an Egyptian Army spokesperson.
El-Refai said the exercise would feature many activities, including training on information exchange and conducting joint military operations.
The exercise, meant to strengthen bilateral military ties, will last for two weeks, he added.
