Education remains top priority for Tboli to counter insurgency

MANILA, Feb. 3 -- Education programs remain a top priority that the local government of Tboli in South Cotabato is pushing to deliver in far-flung sitios there, to counter efforts of communist-terrorist groups in influencing the residents to support their ideology.
In an interview, Tboli Mayor Dibu Tuan said the Indigenous Peoples in identified Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDA) are often the target of the armed wing of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP).
He expressed his support for the Duterte administration's bid to end the armed conflict as stated under Executive Order No. 70 or the whole-of-nation approach in attaining inclusive and sustainable peace.
