A solar farm is proposed for part of this field at 1012 East St. in Southington, Mon., Dec. 7, 2020. Hartford-based solar energy developer Verogy is seeking state approval to install solar panels on 31 acres of the property owned by the Archdiocese of Hartford. More time is needed to evaluate a plan to install a 37-acre solar panel array on prime farmland in Southington. The additional evaluation time, requested by the Connecticut Siting Council, which oversees the placement of major electricity infrastructure, would push the deadline from April 25 to October 22.
