Green Island-based Ecovative has just received an additional $60 million in funding to improve its ability to mass produce mushrooms that are processed into fabrics and packaging.Ecovative
GREEN ISLAND — Ecovative, which makes fabric and packaging materials from mushroom roots, has received a $60 million round of funding to help the firm explore better ways of growing their mycelium or mushrooms, at industrial scale.
That brings the firm’s total amount of capital raised to $100 million. The latest investment is being led by Viking Global Investors, with support from Senator Investment Group, AiiM Partners, Trousdale Ventures and others.
