A NEW scheme has launched at Kidderminster Library called ‘Reading Friends’ which aims to tackle loneliness.
The Worcestershire wide initiative is centred around three library services: the library service at home, online connect bubbles, and one-to-one telephone calls.
As part of the library service at home a selection of books will be delivered to those who unable to access their local library.
One to one telephone calls will continue from lockdown and online connect bubbles, which are small group sessions, will be run via Zoom by library staff and volunteers.
Hannah Perrott, assistant director for communities, said: “Worcestershire libraries are providing opportunities for people of all ages to stay connected with others, building healthier and more resilient communities across the county.
